I am all for Israelis building a buffer as far awy from Israel as they can, when they have barbarians at the gates!!! Provide proof of that claim please!!! Whats your point, oh ya, must be Israel's fault!!!!! Thank God they do!!!

Ya well then convince all Palestinians to hold off of the suicide bombings during negotiations that might help. I see Israel more serious about peace than the Palestinians. Ya well the UN now is not the UN then. UN today is a joke, just a place for the world's politicians to retire to after their domestic careers are over. Sure there are close ties, who do you think Israel gets its weapons from, who are the only ones that will support them, the US and of course that influences their decisions. But they can still negotiate peace without the US. BTW how has the US supported "CRIMES" because they agree or do not condemn Israel every chance they get, oh boo hoo. Do you want them to be like Europe and the UN and condemn them everytime an Israeli sneezes. Thankfully the worlds only superpower backs up Israel or people with your point of view would overlook the actions of the Palestinians acting against Israel. Now thats the biggest load of S#$t. Of course blame Israel because the Palestinians cannot coordinate themselves, is that Israel's fault, NO. Sorry but Israel is not striking deep into Palestine territory anymore than they have to. If destroying a couple terrorist huts or homes is decimating Palestinian infrastructure, then there was not much to begin with. Course there is corruption among the PA, and of course you would love to blame the Israelis for that one right, is that the Israel's fault, NO. Well stop the suicide bombings and have a coordinated government, then peace might prevail. I would feel pretty dam crappy. But to ask you a few questions, how would you want your government to act after your daughter's wedding was attacked by a suicide bomber, killing many family members? How would you like to drink coffee at the local cafe, always looking over your shoulder? How would you like knowing that only a few miles away a group of people are huddled together devising ways to kill you because you are Jewish? Terrorists exist because of stupid ideals that are carried out by brainwashed, ignorant people or stupid people. Show me your study that you have undertaken and correlation that proves your thesis, since you have obvious put all the facts together on this one. If its so easy to see, it should be easy to provide the facts. Lets see the numbers and correlation.

Aborigina-only fisheries not discriminatory,
Sully replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is a complex issue, but I am all for equality and not segregation, like most of these issues promote. Its funny Canada proclaims to be a country of equality yet we are far from it. The government should not be sanctioning rights for others to have over the rest of the population period. And allowing Natives to have a fishery over other non natives is bs and yes discriminatory. MS you talk of respect, respect has to go both ways. -
Well I think Israel has every right to defend itself as it sees fit. UN is a joke so I wish people would quit bringing up condemnations and resolutions passed by these jokers who reside far away from the real life issues faced by both Israelis and Palestinians. What measures would Canada take to prevent actions like terrorist bombings in our malls, churches and local cafes? Hmmmm I only wish we would be able to respond with the determination of Israel, but instead we would probably put together commitees to study the subject or better yet we would allow these bombers to immigrate here. The world can say what they want to, but they do not have to live it, they can watch the death tolls rise from the comfort of their living room. Do you really think that Israel has any other choice but to take these measures? The Palestinians are a fractured bunch. They have no central authority, no one has the power to call off suicide bombings. Israel is dealing with various group subsets of Palestinians who are hell bent on the destruction of the Israeli state and to eliminate all jews off the face of the earth. This is not an exaggeration, there are groups solely designed for this purpose. So until Palestine becomes united there will be no peace. Thankfully Israel has superior firepower, it would be a lot bloodier if they did not. Here are the problems as I see it in this area 1.) The UN, why are we looking towards these guys for the answers, their history shows they have no real authority or ability to act. 2.) The US, why are they always waiting for a US brokered peace deal, do it yourself. 3.) No centralized power within the Palestinian state 4.) Terrorist groups are allowed to exist, the Palestinians need to destroy these groups if they truly want peace, not the Israelis. 5.) Israel must show as much restraint as possible, until they are forced to act. 6.) Media needs to be more unbiased in reporting. There are no winners in this issue, a Palestinian life is just as valuable as an Israelis.

Hahahaha hiding nothing eh, hmmm did he mention the week prior he was looking for a ring, NO. Did he mention all about the survelliance cameras that were all throughout the auction house no. Did he blame his "irrational" actions on a fall he sustained two years prior during a hike. If thats the case why did he not relieve himself of his MP position well in advance of the incident if he was suffering so bad. I mean none of us want an unstable MP do we? There is the one group who is sympathetic towards Svend and there is the rest of who know he is full of S!@t. At least Campbell held an interview where he took questions from the press who nailed him to the wall, oh I remember Svend putting on a little staged press conference with tears, hahahah what a joke, no questions taken by Svend.

Here we go again - Quebec Independence
Sully replied to maplesyrup's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Well I really think that if Quebec wants to separate go ahead. I really do not think they have thought this one through. Right now Quebec has far greater protection within Canada, but once they separate, that insulated layer of protection will evaporate. I have a hard time believing that the several million Quebecers and their culture will be better off when they are surrounded by over 300 million predominantly English speakers. There will be no need for english Canadians to cater to them anymore, nor will the Americans cater to their needs. I believe the Quebec market in many cases is too small to warrant major investment from multinationals. Hell if I headed a company they better loosen their laws as far as language and such, before I open shop within their borders. Too many costs to do business in Quebec. Quebec will suffer much more on its own. -
Martin vs. Harper - Good vs. Evil
Sully replied to jacqueline944's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Caesar you are missing the point. Martin is saying one thing and doing another. Since he has become PM, every issue is a priority. He is trying to be all things to all people and this is the guy you want in there. Read between the lines what this says of his character and what it means about his future promises. Words mean very little when you do not follow through. Being conservative is more than being a Harper supporter, even tho he is who I want to be PM. If somehow else was the party leader they would have more support too. Hahaha you say Harper has not had the chance to be corrupt, yet Martin has shown you he lies and you still support him, please tell me how that makes sense. Either Martin knew about the scandal or was incompetent at his job, if large sums of money can disappear under his watch. Hey I am not trying to convince you to change sides and support Harper, its just find some real ground to stand on when you defend the actions of PM PM. Oh ya you cannot, you can only launch attacks at Harper, sorry I forgot. -
Martin vs. Harper - Good vs. Evil
Sully replied to jacqueline944's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Firstly, I am a C-O-N-S-E-R-V-A-T-I-V-E, I do not know why you are calling me a "Harperite"? Anyways let us get back to reality for a minute Caesar, if we can. I am not the one who openly supports a liar, a crook and a hypocrite, Bravo!!! Let us have a closer look at Paul Martin for a minute: Health Care What he preaches: Everyone is equal, no queue jumping, NO PRIVITIZATION (remember how he had Pettigrew recant his remarks), maintaining the ailing health care system we have and the one he directly contributed too. What he practices: Uses private for profit MRI clinic to service his own personal health needs. Being a transparent govt., honest and erasing democratic deficit: What he preaches: He will eliminate the democratic deficit, would get to the bottom of the sponsorship scandal BEFORE the election, has he satisfied the public on that account, hmmmm thats a big NOPE What he practices: Tells Klein to come clean with his Alberta health care agenda, before the day of the election. Challenges Klein to be open and transparent. More democratic deficit elimination What he preaches: He will de-centralize the power of the PMO and allow free votes for MPs (give backbenchers more of a say) What he practices: Appoints candidates left, right and centre regardless that these "star" candidates are placed there over Liberals who were nominated through a DEMOCRATIC process in those areas. Now says MPs should vote along party lines. Military What he preaches: Says he is glad he did not support the Americans and send troops, yet he has troops in Iraq and will not support them. WOW, what a leader!!! What he practices: Jumps on Harper saying he would have sent Canadian troops to Iraq, which remains unproven!!!! Accuses Cons of buying equipment that they are not going to buy. Notwithstanding Clause What he preaches: He would use the clause to protect the right of Church's to perform marriages as they saw fit. What he practices: Would not say whether or not he would ever use the Notwithstanding Clause when asked during the debate. Child Porn What he preaches: It was such a priority for him personally and the Liberal party to address this issue What he practices: It was such a priority that Martin called an election before the child porn bill that was before parliament passed and now will be delayed and put on the back burner for who knows how long. Now for you Caesar!!! How will Harper destroy our already failing health care system? Provide facts and logical points as opposed to your emotional points!!! He can apologize if he wants, he is Canadian with his own views and the same rights that allow you and me to criticize a govt. actions. I agree the remarks made by the party, not personally by Mr. Harper were silly and were quickly quickly retracted. I will remind you to see the above point on Martin and child porn and how his actions do not mesh with his words. Canada is bilingual and is in no way threatened. Again provide facts and logical points as to the threat. Yes thats quite right, but let me also add a few points. Your posts are no where near as relevant to the topic at hand, as my fellow Harperite buddies posts are. Your posts never address the questions asked of you, like my fellow Harperite buddies do. You rant, rather than provide logical, reasonable and well thought out posts like my fellow Harperite buddies do. -
Martin vs. Harper - Good vs. Evil
Sully replied to jacqueline944's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Caesar, please, we know you disagree with Harper and Campbell and think the two are of the same ilk. But for the sake of the rest of us, just start your own thread where you write a huge long speech about your love for the two of them. Then just tell us to refer to that post as you time and time again spew the exact same old rhetoric. You know the story about : Your families experience with health care here in BC, where many other families have experienced it also, don't worry you are not alone. Try to understand that regardless of what provinicial party is in place wait lines are increasing, NDP provinces have the same problem too, they just waste more money for the same results. The comparison of tax cuts between Harper/Campbell, where there are striking differences Health Care Privitization, the way it has gone under the Liberals Harper taking Canada and the troops we don't have into Iraq!! Weird even during the gulf war of the early 90's we did not have the troops to send, yet after years of underfunding from the Fed Libs we have enough to send to Iraq in 2003, weird I thought Afghanistan was stretching us thin. I think you get the point and so do we, you go into this rant regardless of the topic of discussion!!!! -
Martin vs. Harper - Good vs. Evil
Sully replied to jacqueline944's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Chance of a private member's bill passing, slim to none. But its great to see democracy alive and well within at least one party, weird that the other parties think that members having free votes is such a bad thing. Oh wait I do recall Pauly saying he would allow free votes to reform the democratic deficit. I do not believe the Cons will take away the right of a woman to choose. I think they will address some of the issues around abortion tho. Hell I do not think the taxpayer should be flipping the bills for abortions, and in many cases time and time again for the same women, its their mistake make them pay. Harper will defend the traditional definition of marriage and I am glad for that. No where does he say people can be fired for being gay or be arrested cause they are a lesbian. NO NO NO, all he says is that he will defend the traditional definition of marriage, no bones about it. He is all for the civil unions with the rights of married couples. He sees marriage as something that is sacred to him and his party agrees, so what do you think that they are not allowed an opinion. -
Martin vs. Harper - Good vs. Evil
Sully replied to jacqueline944's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Since these opinions are so obvious in your mind, prove them, just because you are of a different opinion of Harper does not make him or his caucus racist or homophobic and so what if they are pro-life, they are allowed to be, and time and time again they state that position. They are not misleading anyone. Hahahaha Paul our saviour, hahahahah we definitely know that he lies!!!!! -

Cons accuse NDP/Lib of Child Pornography
Sully replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hey I cannot say whether or not you have child porn on your computer, I sure hope you are not that twisted. But only you know that!!!! You seem to think that incident of normal families being disrupted would spike, because they have naked pictures of their children, I highly doubt it. Like I have said common sense would prevail and those families would be exhonerated. There will be room for safeguards, no one is saying there would be no investigation. But shitty things happen sometimes, no doubt. We are talking about children engaged in acts of sex or someone who has naked pictures of many different children on his computer, ya that would need to be explained to the authorities and investigated. But the fact that you defend guys who look at the pictures is sickening, its all ok if you did not take the pictures. -

Cons accuse NDP/Lib of Child Pornography
Sully replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hmmmmm, guess you have not been watching the news about the killer Micheal Briere and the little girl he killed ,Holly Jones in the GTA. Go look up the things he mentioned about child porn and how it helped him act on those impulses. Seems the child porn he looked at in this case, acted as a catalyst for him to act out on this sick perversion. That to me demonstrates HARM!!! Crap, who you kidding there is way too much of it out there, disgusting. Look at the reports of the police who catch these guys with it on their computers, thousands of pix. I assume you are like the most of us and do not actively seek out child porn, which needs to be more secretive for these smut peddlars to get their jollies off. Therefore how do you know how prevalent it is? Maybe quite true and I think common sense will prevail in the end. But sorry children first, artistic merit second. And I think we both would agree on whats Ok and what is not Ok. Ok this is where you lose me big time. Its ok for someone else to make child porn and post it, then let some other guy enjoy looking at it eh!!! You are telling me that is cool and ok with you. Hell no, lock up the guy who is looking at it too, obviously he supports the work of the people who produce those pictures and the children they harm. Maybe you should focus more on the rights of the children that are hurt by this, not the rights of the pervert to get off from it. I could care less if they are not getting enough vitamin B12 in their diet and that makes them want to look at child porn, quit trying to make excuses for this crap. The moment a "chemical imbalance" starts to become a defence, then there will be no more crimes, as all illegal behaviour will be attributable to too much caffeine, niacin, dimetapp, you get the point!!!! Thankfully you are not in charge of the criminal system. I would focus that money on rehabilating the victim, not the criminal. I would monitor convicted pedophiles, with an implant thats lets the police know where they are at all times. And child molesters I would throw in the general prison population, as the those guys would love to have a chat with a pedophile. -

Well trust me you will get to know MS soon enough and what he stands for. All that I would say is make your point and opinion known and do not be shy about it. You will be able to give and have to take. Just try back your points up with facts and you will have absolutely no problem dealing with MS. Hey MS, who are you voting for, the Cons right?? -
Cons accuse NDP/Lib of Child Pornography
Sully replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Lets face it when it comes to kids, right across the country, partisan ties diminish and protection of kids is first and foremost in people's minds. The public can differentiate between child porn and parents taking pictures of their children, common sense dictates what is appropriate in that regards. And as far as artistic merit is concerned, who cares about it, the childrens well being is the paramount concern, not the philosophy or product of an artist, to me this is a simple problem with a simple answer. And penalties for this type of crap should be far more harsh than they are today. One strike and you are out!!!!!! -
I'm being oppressed! I'm being oppressed!
Sully replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Definitely more Liberal ads out here in BC over the course of the election, then again not to surprising the amount of Liberal ads on CBC during the hockey playoffs. Yes those good old Liberals have definitely made political advertising quite Liberal friendly. I am thinking there is some sort of exchange going on for ads for the Liberals. It would go something like this "I leave this bag of cash on the ground and I am going to turn around and if it goes away while I am not looking then thats just plain crazy. Oh ya we want our ads broadcasted 5 times for every one time the other parties have theirs played, have a good day Liberal friendly ad agency." -
Cons accuse NDP/Lib of Child Pornography
Sully replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What is your view MS, do you see artistic expression or will join the Cons that this is digusting and should be outlawed with the harshest of penalties? Lets hear you, be loud and proud on your views!!!!! -
Cons accuse NDP/Lib of Child Pornography
Sully replied to maplesyrup's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sorry Maple this an issue where the vast majority of Canadians are conservative. No apology necessary. People will agree with Harper's stance. So then you must like the NDP or Liberals saying that because the Cons are not on board with Kyoto they are anti-environment, yet they are not, thats ok with you right. Its ok for your side to slant the information their way, yet if the Cons call Martin on this issue its wrong, hahahahah keep dreaming MS. -
Martin vs. Harper - Good vs. Evil
Sully replied to jacqueline944's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Could you please then provide them then, thanks!!!! Understanding and compassion, very much include making people responsibilty for their own actions didn't you know. No where does that make people monsters, other than in your eyes. We are only proclaiming the golden rule, "treat others as you wish to be treated", we are not asking to be excused for our screw ups either, remember that would ya!!!! Do you really tho, so far I have really yet to see that in most of your posts!!!!! So then you would agree that a second abortion would be totally the individuals responsiblity I am too assume? or would there be mitigating circumstances such as: 1.) they do not make enough money to afford birth control 2.) they are not educated enough to know how to use it 3.) its their preference and rights to do as they please 4.) etc. -
Martin vs. Harper - Good vs. Evil
Sully replied to jacqueline944's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Actually thats totally false BD, you do see things in black and white. We on one side think that individuals, not society should be responsible, you on the other hand think society is responsible and not the individual. Had you said that people should have one grace and then they are on their own, that would be living in your grey area, but you like to use any excuse available to make society pay. No matter how many screws up a person makes, you will be there to pardon them with some mitigating circumstances. Course you make that "philosophers" stone casting argument. But you are forgetting that we are not excluding ourselves from having stones cast against ourselves, we realize that the stones hurt and we avoid a repeat of that action. See you are the one who likes to avoid having stones cast at you, admit it. -
Hail caesar, go vote for the NDP if that will cure what ails you. You are bitter and voting with emotion, too bad that won't lead to a wise decision. Wow you know these kind of people? But the question is do they know you? I am having a hard time understanding how you can say that you "associate" with these people just by standing with your ball cap out collecting change from them as they walk by. Does that really mean you "associate" with them? You are a brilliant man, please keep up with the brilliant posts!!!!
