  1. I agree 100% with the doctor's actions not to give this woman the pill because of his own convictions. (Even I am for abortion in this case) This doctor carries his own set of beliefs like everyone else in this world and its wonderful that he is not willing compromise and check his beliefs at the door. And yes Cybercoma we all know your position, just remember we do not all share it. As I respect yours, I would be so glad for you to respect others. It seems to me that some people on this thread believe in managing others values and beliefs and have them agree with their system of thought. Some of those people should read through the history books and see which wonderful characters that they align with. I am glad we live in a free country where anyone can believe in what they want and they are respected when their actions do not deviate from their values. Unfortunately some say they believe in individual rights but they are the first to stand up and try to mandate the actions of another. We all agree that its horrible any woman would be raped. No one denies that, and I am very sure even the doctor would agree. But fact of the matter is the woman had alternative health care staff to deal with, she was not dying but was unfortunately very traumatized. So the woman would be taken care, just not by him. I do not want to see a profession where their members are devoid of their own beliefs. If that happened I could see a way worse world, where half as many people would want to be doctors. Besides their are many religious people already involved and I have yet to see the system faultering because of a doctors personal belief. But learning from this, better procedures should be in place so that alternative help is readily known and available for women in this horrible situation.
  2. To answer your questions again....... Whats the strategy? Strategy is to help keep Afghanistan secure and from tearing itself apart while the country grows into a new DEMOCRATIC nation, which we will help to influence while we are there. I think Canadian values are pretty good gift to the Afghanis. How will we know we are succeeding? We will know we are succeeding as the Afghanistan begins to take control of their own destiny and rely less on outside forces for aid What are the milestones? Milestones will be created by the people on the frontlines who know how to determine what the goals should be and how quickly they can be achieved and not by a bunch people sitting around their computers making their own political statements. When will it finish? Who knows, there is no scientific formula. And let me add another ... why should we do it? You let cancer go untreated and the cancer grows and thats why WE SHOULD DO IT !!!
  3. Bosnia and Haiti aren't theocracies and there was a reaonable chance for success in our peace keeping missions there. Well whether its dictators or theocracies, its people bent on power. But I would really appreciate if you can give me the exact examples of the actions of the Afghan "theocracy" and how they are acting so wrong in your eyes. Also what is a"reasonable chance" to you, 90% success rate, 80%, 50%. Sounds like your philosophy is, if it requires effort or risk its not worth fighting for and thats a scary thought. What should Canada's motto be, "No Canadian moves, no Canadian gets hurt."
  4. Ummm ... NO. I only disagree with missions which have no connection to our national interests and which have no plan or prospect of success. For those who support continuing the Afghan mission, please tell me ... what's the strategy? How will we know we are succeeding? What are the milestones? When will it finish? Well for me, our success would be not having a Pro-terrorist government in place, a government who is stable and supports fair and equitable treatments of its citizens, one who is our future friend and one who appreciates the help we provided them. When will all this happen, who knows!!! Sounds a lot like a peace keeping mission to me!!! But I am sure you can tell me how being in Bosnia and Haiti met our National Interests anymore than Afghanistan???
  5. For those who disagree with putting our troops in Afghanistan on the grounds that we are needlessly endangering their lives for no good reason, these people must surely disagree with every peace keeping mission that Canada is a part of, right??? Look at the rules of engagement a peace keeper from Canada must adhere to: 1.) Act as a buffer between warring parties, (Are we looking to make economic ties with these parties, probably not? Do we really have to be there, probably not. But hey we are making the world a better place, YAY!!!) 2.) Carry a gun, but do not think of using it (Hey well you can think of it, but do not use it until you have been shot at a minimum 2 times) 3.) Wear a blue helmet so then you are completely indentified as the person who cannot do anything to stop you (Taken from the point of the warring factions) 4.)Then finally complete your tour of duty, knowing you did absolutely nothing to change the situation I mean I am sure Canada could sit all alone way up North here, claim neutrality, never get involved in anything until its in our best interests. Maybe you all would agree that we should develop a foreign policy like China's, a policy that reserves judgement and proclaims non intervention. Just think of it how wonderful that would be, we could develop relationships with despots and dictators and never lose any sleep over it. We could have developed a wonderful lasting relationship with the Taliban (DAM THOSE AMERICANS FOR INTERVENING) as we share so many values, values such as allowing women to be educated, allowing homosexuals to live freely in our society and also allowing to terrorists to carry out their activities. Wait a minute under the Taliban, dogs were treated better then women, homosexuals were stoned to death and terrorists were able to develop operations that could span the globe (well actually Canada with lax immigration and welfare laws, pretty much allows the same) Needless to say Canada could do nothing if it wants to, but I am glad that Canada does. Many people together make up Canada with many different viewpoints. But I am positive we all cherish freedom, and if we can help others achieve that, then I am all for it. That may mean risking Canadian lives and I know Canada is not there for economic reasons or to claim a stake in the world opium market.
  6. What's funny about all this debate, is that we sit here and talk about a situation that we are so far removed from. Ask the soldiers if they want to come home? We sit here most of the time pretending that we speak on behalf of the soldiers and their wishes, remember we do not. I am glad that we have fellow citizens who will KNOWINGLY put their lives at risk to maintain and protect Canadian values. I am also glad that we have politicians that are willing to put our soldiers on distant battlefields, rather then allow a fight to happen in our own Canadian backyard. Whats also great is that we also have people on one end of the political spectrum who will do the fighting, come home to people on the other side who do not support their actions, and do it again if the need arises. LASTLY WHEN A CITIZEN SIGNS UP TO BE A SOLDIER THEY KNOW THE RISKS OF THE POSITION, I HAVE NEVER SIGNED UP AND I KNOW THE POTENTIAL RISKS.
  7. You can say you love Canada, but you do mean it Norman? Like a lot of "I love this and I love that nowadays" its really just all talk, too much talk not enough substance. I challenge you to somehow prove to me that you really love Canada? Can you prove to me that you love this country, I doubt it. I think you are all talk and I guess you want Harper to be just like you. BTW "MERRY CHRISTMAS" Norman, yes I am not afraid to say its part of my culture, which is just as important as anyone elses. CHRISTMAS, hmmmmm CHRIST-MAS, hmmmmm the reason we celebrate this time is cause of hmmmmmm CHRIST-MAS, get it..................there is a reason behind this holiday, just as holidays have reasons for many different peoples. I am sure you would defend them with all your might, so why not CHRISTMAS......just have to look behind all the commercialism to see it has relevance....
  8. K, here you go Eureka, provide to me a link that proves that the cost of doing business in Canada is among lowest in the developed world , please make the source unbiased but you and I both know you will not...... Secondly just like Err you have a selective reading disability as well as a lil creativity. NO WHERE DID I SAY THAT CANADA'S TAXATION POLICY IS DRIVING AWAY BUSINESSES FROM CANADA. Go ahead read back and try to find it. I have only stated why Canada might want to lower taxes for corporations and how other jurisdictions provide incentives to lure companies AWAY from Canada..... Hey I can appreciate the points of Wal Mart (actually I am just saying that for you to feel better),but I can appreciate its success due to the fact that millions and millions of consumers make it one of the largest corporations in the world, because that company provides what those people are looking for at a great price, its a great concept eh...... Ummmm Eureka please read what I actually write before posting, actually reply against what I have stated not something you made up. Much appreciated.....
  9. Sorry guys for not posting replies in the proper fashion, someone please direct me to where I can find this out, used to be a lot easier. Thanks
  10. Tunnel vision... That's great. If you don't think about all the people you're doing out of jobs, Canadian businesses being bankrupted by WalMart, then just keep thinking about yourself only, and save that few dollars. However, your taxes might go up a bit to pay for the additional loss of revenue to Canada due to your self centredness, but... look after number one... Yes I only wish one day to have that all encompassing vision that you possess, which allows everyone of my actions in my life to be completely moral and just. Let me ask you, do you have the most economical car that you can afford, if not why?? Think about the children in the future!!!! Can you say for 100% certainty that every article of clothing you are wearing, was not made in a sweat shop, if not why?? Think about the children who were taken advantage of to make that clothing you now wear. Funny thing is I think you are all talk, with not a lot to back it up. Just like you I cannot worry about how everyone my actions affects the world around me and like I said before if you are unable to live in today's reality, too bad its not a concern to me. However I would like my fellow Canadians to be successful, but they have to do it on their own and not with govt. handouts. HEY ERR NOBODY MOVES NOBODY GETS HURT... ... that's right.. you shop at Walmart... I do now and then, so whats your point..... I don't shop there. Sorry, I have a conscience... Wow, you are truly a man/woman of the people.....thats terrific!!!! Taxes... the payment for infrastructure that allows the companies to survive... Now that you've demonstrated that you have a basic understanding of that concept, I have to question your level of comprehension... You are pushing for "less taxes". Is that balanced with a desire for "less infrastructure", or do you want to take more away from the poor so that these companies can pay "less taxes". Well I will try explain this to you yet again, its the tradeoff between all the losses that would be incurred as a result of the large business leaving CANADIAN TAX JURISDICTION (CORPORATE TAXES)+LOSS OF JOBS+LOSS OF INCOME TAXES PAID INTO SYSTEM+etc... VS..... the loss in tax revenue as a result of the tax cut. Now its clearly outlined, I will leave it up to figure it out from here on.....one thing that cracks me up about you is that anytime there is a focus on corporations or wealthy people, you instantly relate that to an attack on poor, talk about brainwashing, here we go again to explain how the corporations relate to poor people OVER HERE IS(CORPORATION)---IN BETWEEN IS(GOVT)-----OVER HERE IS(POOR) DO YOU SEE THAT GOVERNMENT IS THE BUFFER THERE BETWEEN THE TWO AND HOW TAXES WOULD FLOW THROUGH, NOW BY HAVING TAXES HIGH THAT COULD POTENTIALLY ELIMINATE THE CORPORATION OUT OF THE EQUATION. Now tell me err(or), would it be better with no taxes at all, where would the money come from to support your po po people!!!! Why not just have the company pay its Canadian taxes, and sustain our health care system. It's actually cheaper for the companies that hire "talented people". It's companies like Walmart that would benefit from reductions in taxes and a corresponding reduction in health care... Well err, where do you get this stuff from, CANADIAN COMPANIES DO PAY CANADIAN TAXES, where once again the govt will earmark those TAXES for HEALTH CARE. Yes you hate Walmart we know....well not everyone at Wal Mart is talented, don't you get this, not everyone on the earth is worth 6 figure salaries. Tell you what if Wal Mart ever has to close a store down, they should hire you, with your policies that would put forward they would have that particular store out of business quicker than they ever thought possible. Never said business had it bad in Canada... So what's the point of your post... You were saying taxes should be reduced... to what end... to what level.... to compete with whom..... Well err point out to me where I said I THINK CANADA SHOULD LOWER TAXES, please do, if you find it, please show me where. I stated reasons why a government would want to lower taxes, in order to be competitive against other jurisdictions who would try lure them away...... Man I just do not get it, you come on here , you might read one sentence and then you get so excited to reply with all your babble......very sad. Actually read what we reply to you and you get the answers you ask for......
  11. As a consumer I am all for paying as little as I can for products that I buy, if that means shopping at Wal-Mart so be it. I am not concerned about who USED TO DO THIS AND USED TO DO THAT I live in the contemporary world. I myself, had jobs that I worked hard at and that paid me squat, wanna know what I did : DUM DA DA DUM I LEFT that job. I used that crappy job to pay for my University Degree (YAY ME, PAT ON THE BACK) to get a better one in the future, see I realize nothing will get handed to me. Thankfully my family with a strong work ethic has a greater influence on me than people with your line of thinking (ie the hand being held out, bet those shoulders are mighty developed on you). You know what, if Canadian companies shutdown and cannot compete, TOO BAD, I would like Canadian companies to do good, but its not a real concern to me. Also Err, while your shopping at Wal Mart can you pick me up a pair of wire cutters, there is a great deal on them right now????? Umm well hmmm geez, I am trying to get this to your level of thinking here err. Oh I got it, its called taxes, silly me you already know this. Here is how it works Consumer buys a good ---> Leads to income of firm ---> Firm payes taxes on that income to Govt. and Dum da da Dum GOVERNMENT HOPEFULLY PUTS MONEY INTO PROPER INFRASTRUCTURE that benefits Canadian Society. You see government are the ones that really are to be held accountable here and also I have seen many companies voluntarily put up parks, structures and sewage lines yada yada at their own cost, so they too add to INFRASTRUCTURE, maybe just not the way you want it done. Now to tackle the other really simple issue of HEALTH CARE, I am thinking you mean that a company which offers benefits to their employees. You already answered it, companies will offer this BENEFIT for TALENTED EMPLOYEES. So there are two parts to this here in Canada 1.) A company sees your talents as being beneficial enough to offer you an EXTENEDED benefit package, thats great you probably deserve it and its totally optional and an expense of the company, good thing they reward people that are valuable to them 2.) NO ONE in Canada will be denied necessary medical services (THERE WILL BE THE EXCEPTION TO THE RULE, WE WILL SEE THAT ON THE NIGHTLY NEWS) So once again companies through taxes pay the government, who then take care of Health Care Infrastructure, blame the government if you have an issue with that. A final note, how about employees who do not contribute to the success of the company, do I dare call them PARASITES. Well actually a business will move to where THE BUSINESS finds it most beneficial, could be anywhere, depends on which jurisdiction offers the best incentives to move there. Never ever said business had it bad here in Canada, some thrive while others fail for a multitude of different reasons. Well ya since I am heir to the Walton fortune might be a good idea eh??? When you come back from the fringes of quoting every extreme situation that you read about in the paper we could probably have a better debate. Well I d like to say I would hire you when that day comes but I ll be honest the company would be unable to afford your services, but maybe you can go to the States and get all those benefits they give to talented folk such as yourself.....
  12. Well the thing is the world today is not anything like what it used to be. Namely even the smallest business in the world can feel competition from all corners of the globe. The world is connected as one, a "global village" and therefore countries have to compete to keep WEALTHY CITIZENS and WEALTHY CORPORATIONS PAYING TAXES WITHIN THEIR BORDERS. By being wealthy in both cases, there are many more choices awarded to you (as in many cases there should be for your hard work or special talents, capitalism tends to rewards those as it should) that obviously people without wealth cannot have, c'est la vie, but this is nothing new as history has shown. With perfect capital mobility citizens and corporations can move freely to wherever they feel the situation is most beneficial to them. A country has to decide the trade offs between a citizen/corporation leaving and giving into their demands. If a corporation leaves, then Canada loses: 1.) Jobs of the people who worked for the company (oh no the governing party in power loses votes from those people) #s could be in 000s 2.) People now in many cases on EI or welfare, drains the system 3.) Less people are paying income taxes into the Canadian system and a corporation has now left the system and pays no taxes at all CANADA LOSES : CORPORATE TAXES + LOSS OF INCOME TAX + INCREASED DRAIN ON SOCIAL SYSTEM + MUNICIPAL PROPERTY TAXES LOSS etc.......... The effect ripples down through the system Corporations do not owe anything to society by just existing, governments reasonably should keep them in line (environmentally, socially), be nice if profitable companies gave back on their own accord, but why should they when the govt. will squander their tax dollars. Many effects happen with wealthy citizens who feel they are taxed too much and leave: 1.) Less investment in Canada, means less capital to build factories, less money for research etc.... think of construction jobs to build those the factories, smart people staying here (scientists) WHY WOULD THEY ? No increase in employment opportunities here, but there will be wherever the money goes. 2.) Less income tax being paid into system and they are huge dollars too I mean if you think that not reducing taxes would outweigh these losses, then you do not give into them, but as you can see this is just a brief description of why govts would do so, if you have alternative solutions then bring them forward and run for office, then we will see if those ideas work in reality.
  13. Well I guess if David said that, I better try convince my MP and MLA to cut off all wasteful government spending at University Economics Depts. throughout the country. Think of all that money that can be diverted to environmental causes. YAY!!! Well if I could pull a point out of this paragraph, I would sincerely try to answer you. Oh BTW private corporate/consumer dealings (MICRO) have nothing to do with the public policy issues imposed by govt. (MACRO) that we are talking about. Also, Wal-Mart can sell text books at whatever price THEY CHOOSE (if its profitable they will sell it), this is a simple concept, right????? Nope I am a "common man", not rich by any means. I will work for everything I get and hopefully one day I'll get to the point where I want to be. You thinking I am somehow superior to others is obiviously an issue you have to deal with, take your time. Well humble and wealthy, great combo. What opportunities are being cut in your opinion, define them!!! I never expect more out others than I expect from myself. I went through University, paying all of it by myself, so what !!!! I do not need to let others know that. People who work hard always work hard and rise to the top or die trying. And I am all for the government dipping its hand into my pocket as LITTLE as possible. I can spend MY MONEY better than they can!!!!
  14. Sorry bout the repost there peoples!!!! Ummmm does anyone understand economics, Corporations and Wealthy people hold a lot of power and also have a lot of CHOICES (MONEY TALKS). In today's COMPETITIVE world, countries compete for the brightest and the wealthiest in order to benefit that country and also it must provide a benefit to the wealthy individual/corporation. If there is no benefit to those who hold potential investment dollars, then those investment dollars move to jurisdictions where there is a benefit. If I can get a better deal in another politically stable country, thats where my money will go. That loss of investment dollars is lost for good and means less investment money for building capital, means higher unemployment. The effects of that loss of investment dollars is huge and involves a large ripple effect. SO YES err we do need to keep them lower too remain competitive. Well these problems have plagued Canada right across all provinces and political parties, even if we tripled the amount dollars thrown into health care, nothing will change, in a few years we would be complaining about the same issue. HEALTH CARE NEEDS AN OVERHAUL. There is more than enough money in the system, its the inefficient spending that causes the most stress on the system, just like there is more than enough money for the Feds to properly fund USEFUL public programs. Inefficient use of the public purse is what hurts the most. Its great that the left wingers are all for the common man, its great that people still care. But I wish for the life of me that anyone who considers themselves left wing would have to attend mandatory first year university economics. Then finally the left wingers could join us right wingers back in reality and peace and happiness will be enjoyed by all.
  15. Currently, the federal government takes your money, and gives you less than what you used to get for the same amount of money... Less health care, less social security, less assistance for education... less, less, less... If they were just trying to balance the books, I could understand their actions. However, when most of the cutting of our personal benefits is to finance tax cuts for corporate Canada, it is harder to take. Especially, when corporate Canada's tax rates are 4% lower than for our neighbours to the south. It's not like they need to lower them any more to be competative. Cybercoma, why don't you explain to me why we should have long waiting lists for surgery, poorer education system for our children, less social safety nets for when we need it... just so that corporate Canada can have even lower tax rates.... When they are already 4% lower than in the USA ???? Currently, we can afford to pay down our deficit, keep lower corporate taxes than the USA, without taking any more away from the citizens of Canada... In fact, we can affort to get back some more back of what we used to have... Maybe, the sooner you (and your neo-con friends) understand that, the better off we all will be... <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  16. Devastated eh Caesar, you are so dramatic. Who would do a better job of managing the health care system, the NDP, hahahahaha...... Under the NDP let me remind you , health care waits increased, beds were closed, and the big difference is that we paid alot more for that failing system under the NDP. Now with the Liberals running the show we pay a lot less for that same crappy system. Sounds smart to me. To address that seniors issue, (btw are you a senior?) complain to your MP that BC does not get enough in Federal transfers. BC is a retirement destination for many Canadian and recent immigrant seniors and therefore we see a large growth in that population segment. This segment is a huge user of drugs and users of the system, why should they not pay like the rest of us, and no I am not proposing huge fees, but yes they can pay too. IF only BC could have a say in who is allowed into BC as far as immigrants goes? (They cannot do this with Canadian citizens, Charter protects them) If you are not healthy then you should pay for use of the system or not be allowed in (I guess this is solely a Federal issue, too bad tho, nothing will be done on this issue by the Federal Liberals, cannot go against a large portion of their voter base). Also I am basing these propositions on purely financial terms. If you have never paid into the system, you should not be allowed to use it without large user fees. As BC's economy and financial position improves, more money will be earmarked for Health Care and hopefully it will be used in an efficient manner.
  17. Gas taxes, hell I hate them but then again I do have a choice on whether to drive my car as much or buy a vehicle that is fuel efficient. I am all for these kinds of comsumption taxes over income taxation which you can never avoid if you legally hold a job. Cuts to our health care is great idea until the system becomes more efficient. I would rather spend X billions on health care then 2X billion and get the exact same results. The system needs to be reworked and throwing money at a money eating machine is stupid. The deficit is going to be eventually paid off (the Liberals actually have aplan to do that), what a novel idea, start payments now so future generations are not burdened with the future debt and absolutely no social services. Or would you rather you get all the services now and leave your younger family members with none. Yes you can repeat again and again that Glen was an angel compared to ol Gordo, but no one really cares and you will see that fact, as the majority of us BCers vote the Liberals back into office. We realize that unlike Glen Clark, the Liberals give us something to look forward too, as they have already set the wheels in motion for the province to move forward. The key difference between Liberals and NDP, the Liberals have significantly better grasp of economics. Here is a really sad post (Caesar I almost think that you are a woman with this comment), why do WE need a WOMAN elected, how about somebody who can do the job. I am trying to figure out how a woman would do a better job by not having male gentalia and I cannot for the life of me figure this one out.
  18. Wow no wonder you are left with such a bitter taste in your mouth. Governments represent all the people who elected them to office, I have a hard time believing Die Hard Union people think they are being represented by the Liberals and I have a hard time believing they voted them to office . Quit with the Disney outlook on life, the Liberals are not perfect nor are they left wing, high taxes and create a new social program everyday kind of government. This govt. made all the tough decisions the NDP could never do and we are better off for it, they got provinical costs in line and as revenues increase more funding will be available for useful efficient programs. Ya you keep overlooking Glens (NDP) indescretions and I'll overlook the Liberals, seems fair to me!!! If I was given a nickel for everytime a politician was asked to resign I would be rich man. This is something asked by politicians of all ends of the spectrum, rarely is this advice taken. I think I am gonna ask Carole James to resign so the NDP could put forth a leader with a chance at making a difference. Will she take my advice Caesar? As for the rest of your post its the same old same old. Hey Caesar are you going to vote Liberal, I am not sure!!!
  19. So, it happened under the NDPs watch Ahh I guess its Ok for you to pardon one party's member when he mixes his personal dealings with his public position influence, but not the other, hmmmm there is a word for this right!!! Yes he could demand someone to resign, but did they always follow his advice, probably not and he just follows suit. But this seems to be just following the flow of modern day politics, say something silly (resign), look at someone the wrong way (resign) wah wah wah..........if everytime we had an official resigning everytime someone asked them to do so, we would have daily elections for almost every official. If they somehow knew this was going on or benefitted from it they should be in trouble. If they did not know this was going on, then who cares and NO THEY SHOULD NOT KNOW EVERY SINGLE THING SOMEONE ELSE DOES IN THEIR OWN PRIVATE LIVES. Do not know enough of the true details of this case, but Liberals did blow this one on their PR skills, just be honest with the public. If BC rail was not a good investment then they should have explained the reasons for the sale. Seniors how were they hurt? and how were the children put at risk? Medical service levels deteriorating are nothing exclusive to this govt, look right across Canada, all the same. Increased premiums are needed, too many prescriptions written, too many doctors being visited, not everyone who has a sniffle or or a headache needs to visit the doctor. Haha I gotta write this into my "Who really gives a crap book" WHO CARES what the UN or most human rights groups say (funny how people are still moving here). The UN goes around condemning everything these days. I guess its too make themselves look like they are actually doing something. I agree partially with this that there was the intention to make the NDP look bad and sell off the ferries for a silly amount, but remember those ferries were just as inefficient and useless as the NDP. Keeping the ferries would have cost us more money than their worth. Ya lets forget about mass transit, none of us who live in Vancouver seem to see any problems with traffic. With an ever increasing denisty of people in the area, leading to more cars on the already existing single lane highways, no I do not see a problem with 8 hour work days and 4 hour commutes!!!
  20. You cannot be serious, sorry but methinks you are gonna have to endure four more years of a government with proper fiscal management skills. I am a BCer and very glad that Campbell will be back in office and look I am not even a right wing Albertan (although I am glad to be a right wing BCer) , so please Caesar, do not pretend to speak for all of us BCers, thank you very much. You are right Caesar about the poor performance of this government in some areas, most notably their communication skills with the public. They have had their scandals, most governments do, Campbell had a DUI arrest, but came right in front of the cameras and answered questions along with an apology (smart thing to do). But if you are to focus on Liberals shortcomings and scandals please reveal your list of NDP follies, here are a few to start you off, fast ferries, bingogate, Glenny Clark and his personal dealings (anybody need a deck built?) etc . etc. A poor performing Liberal govt is better than a good performing NDP govt anyday of the week. BTW can anybody and I mean anybody tell me anything that Carole James has done that is worth mention, what does she stand for and sorry to be picky but whats with her hairstyle, she looks like Davey Crockett's mother, hey if you are never gonna make it into power, you mine as well look good. Also with Glen Clark at least he gave us something to talk about.
  21. How exactly do you think communism allows for more involvement by the people. You have to be kidding, whether its communism or capitalism there will be rich and poor, there will be decision makers (PRIVLEDGED) and the followers(MASS POPULATION). At least capitalism allows you to get yourself ahead with ambition and hard work. Communism holds you back, the only way communism could be governed in Canada is by having 32,000,000 MPs. Talk about inefficient and silly. People have all the ability to be involved in the world, its just whether or not you get involved and speak through your actions rather than sitting on the sidelines complaining. No I think you obviously do more with your life than sit around, but please communism is a notion that cannot be brought over from paper into reality. Capitalism works, if you work.
  22. Good luck with those ideals!! You are sure to make it far in todays world. In my little world, I would be an F1 driver, too bad I am 6'4 and too big to fit in the cockpit. I could find thousands of things to cry about, but I guess I ll deal with it and go on living without complaining about the how bad the world treated me. We are born into this world to deal with what we are given, I think the sad thing about this world is that too many people expect sunshine to be pumped up their butt from day 1. Guess what communism will never happen, so I guess we will see you in the welfare line, since you are paralyzed with inaction due to those dam capitalist ideals you were born into.
  23. So what !!!! Of course there are crazy Israelis, but this is just a comment to cloud the real issue, Palestine needs to be run by a strong coordinated government, who does not believe in destroying the Jewish state or its people by any means. Palestinians are responsible for the state of Palestine!!!
  24. What is with always bringing up historical treatment, what does that have to do with PRESENT DAY treatment by our government. I mean there are somethings that need to be resolved together with aboriginals and our govt. There are also many things where aboriginals need to be far more responsible for their own situations. As far as the historical context issue its far overused I stress that you can look throughout all of the world's history and see that EVERY group at some point was mistreated at the hands of the other. But thats not useful today, because then we should all seek compensation from all these groups whoever hurt our ancestors, its silly time to move on. I do not agree with all Hawks points but in some cases tip toeing round the truth is stupid, at least he states what he means and for the most part I agree with him.
  25. Oh really, so Israel says lets negotiate peace and then the next days tries to steal more land from the Palestinians, hmmmmm I think you are being too naive in not realizing why the Israelis must do what they do, if Israel is threatened they will protect themselves, great move on Israels part. Think about why they have too, its very much unlike Canada, Israel is not afraid to take action and look bad in others eyes. Hahaha thats your excuse, blame Israel for everything right. If Palestine cannot get itself together, blame Israel, blame Israel for occupying a small part of the land and for fragmenting Palestinians, gimme a break. HOW ABOUT BLAME PALESTINE, AFTER ALL CAN THEY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEMSELVES, i know this maybe a truly novel idea. True enough!!! Ya well then according to that theory, most of Africa, Haiti, Bangeladesh etc, should be absolutely teeming with terrorist activity, thankfully they are not. Hmmm I wonder if it has to do with statewide brainwashing by Palestine.
