Ah there you go! Falling into the excuse of the original sin. Let me tell you. There is no sin. Those who believe in it are condemned to death. Those who understand the resurrection are free from it. And God does not judge. Humans do. When you judge you actually reveal yourself, not the other. When you condemn another, you condemn yourself. But when you sin, or when you die, you sin and die only for yourself - not for me, not for God, It is a delusion you have taught yourself to be the victim of sin and not the perpetrator of your own prison. Matthew 7:1-5 Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Many Born-Again Christians Hold Universalist Views, Barna Finds
charter.rights replied to WIP's topic in Religion & Politics
That is a totally incorrect characterization. I was brought up in the baptized in Anglican Church but spent most of my time in the United Church until a few years after I was married there. I had the opportunity to not only experience a number of other Churches -Baptist, Pentecostal, Catholic, Unitarian etc, but was openly invited to learn about native beliefs from a number of close friends. I use native stores and understandings because they seem to be the most broadly based and believe it or not espouse more Christian doctrines than most organized religion I have attended. They put it very simply. One can believe what is in their heart and a person's relationship with God - The Creator - is personal and need not be defended. All of this encouraged me to learn more about Christianity, not only from ministers and priests (although I count many among my personal friends) but from other more Christian acting people, who understand a lot more than most. I understand the need for organized religion and the kind packaged answers Betsy always comes up with, but true Christianity isn't like that and the works of true Christians is not the kind of thing that is on display. In fact if they did pronounce their "acts" most people would run away scared claiming it to be witchcraft or the work of Satan. In reality, those "works" are truly good, and are full of miracles that once mastered are available to anyone with a good mind. No need to explain further. -

I agree. Real Christians have no need to go around trying to convert or lecture others..... -

Ah. The problem is whom are we to believe being more than 25 versions and interpretations of the Bible in English alone! And being deceived by so many ordained priests, ministers and clergy over the centuries the "word" of Christianity has been tainted and perverted. The religion of Christianity is plagued by self-serving interests and prophet-tears, charlatans and molesters that YOUR word, or anyone else professing to represent Christ can no longer be trusted. So you read. However, your problem is interpretation. You have been conditioned, as most bible-thumpers have to read and promote the bible in a very limited way, projecting your own limitations into its interpretation. When you can apply the Bible along with miracles and Truth then you can come back with some legitimacy. Until that, you are stuck in a mindless faith without the work to back it up. As I said in another thread. Your faith is dead. You have no idea how to make it work. -
Matthew7:1 "Judge not, that ye be not judged." You faith is in your works. Being full of judgement and condemnation suggests that you ~think~ you are a Christian but really aren't....by your own words... Then follow them, don't just preach them. See the above... There is a little story that was told to me by a Mohawk friend about rejecting people because they don';t fit and sound like you should care. After months of tending to a stranger who came to the door and was taken in by a family, healed and fed when they had little to share, the stranger reveled himself as the Creator. The moral is that you cannot judge a book by its cover......or something like that.... Now you read minds too? Christ didn't die. Jesus did and while Jesus was of the Christ, Christ lived on and never died. I can see how from an empty and baseless perspective you could project that conclusion. And by your works once again you prove that you are not a Christian. You are a wold in sheep's clothing interested in preaching your delusions without any proof your faith is real. My faith is absolute and I prove it through the miracles I perform everyday. Yet you are quick to judge, you can't remove the mote from your own eye and see how flawed your dogma really is. There is also another Mohawk story I recall that talks about the Creator being a young lad making a challenge to his brother to flatten the mountain he just raised. He boasted that he was more powerful and more creative than his twin, and when his brother said he was finished, the Creator turned around only to have that same mountain slammed into his face, breaking his nose. No doubt, humility in your household could find a place amongst all that arrogance.....

Death is subjective. Today we use the loss of brain activity as a measure. Back then it someone was sleeping could could have been buried for dead. That is why wakes were often held...to make sure the person wasn't just deeply asleep. So maybe Jesus was just sleeping? Obviously, neither are you since your judgement is out of line with the teachings of Christ. Yet how would you make a conclusion that I am not a Christian, and still can't decide whether or not Jesus was sleeping? And without works your faith that he died is nothing more than delusional. You aren't dealing with facts. You are dealing with delusional assertions without any work to back it up. And by the way using circular reasoning by saying the Bible proves itself is not satisfactory. It is a weak argument. I'm quoting what James said. You don't understand that you cannot believe in miracles without proving that they are possible. Otherwise your claims fall back into delusional thinking. Wrong. At some point you need proof. Otherwise faith is dead. No it doesn't. You have been conditioned by priest to believe that is what it means because THEY say so. What it really is, is a testament that there is NO death - that life is all there is, and the belief in death is a powerful as death itself. You die...you are dead. There is no life and your belief in death delivers you to rot and decay. There is no "life after death". What I expect is irrelevent to the discussion. You have made an assertion without any proof. Without works - proof - why would you have any faith? Because you are conditioned to believe what you are told and not question authority. I'm here to tell you that I have questioned the highest authority and haven't been struck down by lightning. And still I get the answers to my questions because I hold faith that there is no question that has never been answered. There is only people like you who refuse to see, being blinded by the mote in their own eyes. I don't need your delusions or others to determine what the Bible is, or means. I already know it inside out. You are the one who asked for the help. And I provided that your faith is dead, without works. Go with it. It is the Truth.
-
He either died or he didn't. There is no proof that he was dead other than observation of ignorant and untrained people. Yet he didn't resurrect himself if he was dead in the first place. The problem is that faith without works is dead. Prove that YOU can die and then arise from the dead and then you might have a case. But without works, your faith is delusional.
-
Faith without works is dead. Unless you can demonstrate your faith by performing the miracles you profess exist, your faith is nothing more than a delusion. Miracles are not special instances, they are everyday occurrences. Yet you deny the resurrection of Christ by claiming that Jesus died. Thus your faith in Easter is dead. YOUR works do not confirm your faith but contradict it.

Nah. Its about mass conditioning and catching children, destroying their own thinking systems and replacing them with religious dogma. Not only is it good for the religious institutions but all those pre-conditioned children make good corporate citizens, never questioning authority and believing what that what is done to them is for their own good. Religion is a lie.

James 14-26 KJV. "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." And so I say again that Jesus is dead. If by your faith you believe He has risen then put forth your works so that all can be witness to the Resurrection. BUT without the proof, Jesus is dead and His Body has no Spirit.

Is this the end of the Federal Liberals?

No. But it cold be the end of Stephen Harper if he doesn't get his majority. -
aww, the poor prisoners of Ontario

Better yet we will pass a law that people like you have to take them into your home and feed and cloth them. Then maybe you'll get it, that prisoners are human beings and the majority have simply made mistakes. -

Rehabilitation is far more important in the Canadian system than punishment. While incarceration is used it is often a last resort reserved for those who either can't or refuse to be rehabilitated. We don't want American style prisons in Canada primarily because they don't work, and they produce higher rates of recidivism. I agree that prisoners should not automatically have access to such perks BUT if they work to earn them by demonstrating calm and reasonable behavior, then why not? -
The price of gasoline is controlled by the oil companies and is not in pace with the price of oil on the market. We all know that there is some price fixing going on but governments are unwilling to tackle it. I buy most of my gas at a reserve in southern Ontario, where the current price of gas is around $1.12 per litre. The neighbouring communities have gas at the pumps at $1.29. The explanation I get from the reserve gas station owners is they buy gas at one price and sell at that price with their mark-up until the tanks are empty. Funny things is they manage to always buy enough gas to last out these spikes in prices and so I suspect the next tanks will be as cheap as the ones are now....right after Easter....

Oh ya... And a $billion for a 2 day party was not warranted. It is just one example of the Conservatives wasteful spending and self-serving financial strategy. They are to financial management what Bernie Madoc was to maintaining the economy. -

We have fighter jets. We have submarines and tanks. Albeit they are aging, we can still defend our borders. So THAT argument is a moot one. The problem isn't the purchase of new jets. It is the purchase of anything that does not comply with Canada's procurement laws, which requires tenders to be called. Who knows, maybe the Russian MIGs could have put in a better price.... -
Canadian institutions have cater to Christian Caucasians for centuries. Even history has excluded non-Caucasians as being recognized as contributing to the formation and development of Canada. Caucasian history for the most part has dominated school curriculum for ages and it is only recently that accurate (read non-Caucasian) cultural information about other groups in Canada has begun to emerge.
-
Oh Rue, all that brain activity wasted..... Of course you missed the point. It isn't black students asking for a special school. It is the school board trying to find a better way at reaching them. Statistically according to the provincial education standard testing, the current teaching methods only reach about 30% of the kids. The rest either are too smart for the teachers or are at risk of dropping out. Rote methods do not work with most the students, so looking for something different to address a higher rate of failure is a noble thought. However, they didn't ask anyone and the school board was doing this on their own....then quickly retracted it..... I agree that: "To me all public schools should be neutral and not favour any one group but teach respect for all. " Since the school system has historically been catering to predominantly Caucasian students perhaps that curriculum should make more allowances for cultural input from other non-Caucasian sources and change the methods and curriculum to suit more of the majority of students. No doubt you will agree, given your stance against special treatment.

Add to that the $8 billion wasted on corporate tax cuts that do not create jobs or spur growth. Corporate tax cuts don't spur growth, analysis reveals as election pledges fly What could $16 billion do for Canadian families? -
Why are blacks committing the most murders?
charter.rights replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Local Politics in Canada
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission believes they do. A friend of mine - a former RCMP officer - is the lead detective on the Commission and they have in fact verified that a number of grave sites behind former schools do in fact exist. How many children are there will be up to the exhumations and archaeological excavations, which I understand is presently underway. BUT The Commission is hearing personal testimony from a number of the survivors and taking their statements at face value. -

He was filtering money - government financed money - through his girlfriend. Carson also has multiple convictions for fraud. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it MUST be a duck. So no, it is not bullshit. It is fact. -

No. I'm pretty sure that wasting $25 million on signs promoting Harper is not a decision of Parliament. As well Harper got to decide who got the money...and wouldn't you know it the bulk of the stimulus spending was done in Tory ridings. Parliament isn't responsible for that either.
