Fair and square you say. That pedophile lying ad that your hero has just put out doesn't look too fair from where I'm sitting, or his constant lies regarding his ridiculous VP pick. A gimmick at your expense.

Nope!! Four years of her wagging that manicured finger and waving around a clenched fist would be too much to bear after the last 8 years of God knows what all. Don't know if you are aware of this but 1500 people came out to protest Palin in Alaska this week. The article says that this is the largest protest about anything that Alaska has ever seen. In fact, the protesters outnumbered the supporters who showed up. You won't see this on CNN or anywhere else in the MSM, but I bet you will if you tune in to Keith Olbermann on Monday.

What I find odd about these so called Gallop and everybody else's polls, is the fact that Obama has just raked in 66 million in donations for August. This has never been done before. As well, Democratic voters have out-registered Republicans by a nearly 7-to-1 margin since January. Is the fix in even before everybody votes this time?
-
Yeah, I guess it's this attitude that has got you where you are today. The fact that 49 million of your own people can't get health care is certainly proof of this.

And how many times in the last century has there been a President who was 72 years old with a history of melanoma? He has beaten it four times, good for him, but how many more times can he luck out? He is also in poor health due to his injuries from Vietnam. I hate to sound crass about this but the odds are pretty high that she could be called to step in.

You're right, they coached a puppet and she came across as a puppet. She didn't just use his name to politely interrupt, she overused it. She came across as phony, and cocky!

And well they should be after her Charlie interview. She said "Charlie" to begin every sentence and to end every sentence. Suddenly, he's her new best friend. Did she think that he would go easy on her if she ingratiated herself to him by using car salesman tactics? Most irritating!

Oprah Winfrey & Barack Obama
Carinthia replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
What a relief! I will be watching Charlie Gibson's interview with her though. Not because I think she has anything earth crashing to reveal but because I want to have a good laugh listening to Gibson skirt around important issues and restrict the questions to field dressing moose (mooses?). -
Obama & the Race Card
Carinthia replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Just out of interest... Rosemary Brown was elected to the provincial legislature of British Columbia in 1972, becoming the first black woman in Canadian history to be a member of a Canadian parliamentary body. A busy mother of three as well as an active member of the New Democratic Party, she ran for leadership of the federal NDP in 1975 but lost on a fourth ballot to Ed Broadbent. Rosemary served in the B.C. legislature until 1986, when she became a professor in women's studies at Simon Fraser University. http://www.heroines.ca/people/brown.html As only 2.5% of the population of Canada is black, I would say this is a pretty good start! -
Obama & the Race Card

C'mon now, we know that if your skin is black, you're black, the end. I don't recall a black person ever running in Canada. The true test here would occur if a First Nations person ran for the top job. -
U.S. Presidential Elections 2008

Yes, so far so good. Just imagine what could happen if those Diebold machines screw up and another voting fiasco occurs and the U.S. Supreme Court appoints McCain? Different dynamic this time around!! -
Your assumption is correct. A leftist I am, a bully I'm not. I never ride a bike and I drive a Cavalier. I do run a social program funded by the Feds, so that should put me in good standing with all the other lefties around here though.

American Media bias, admit it!
Carinthia replied to stevoh's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Speaking of David Frum, I have not seen him on TV since the primaries ended. Wonder if this is because he is right wing and this is another case of media bias selection? He was a regular on CNN during the primaries. -
I notice that the six replies here are all from "right wingers". Hmmmm, wonder where all the left wing bullies are?

American Media bias, admit it!

I could not agree more. The media can't even be bothered to make any real issue of his weekly gaffs and memory losses. It's too pathetic! -

Sure they reported it all on the back pages, they just didn't sit around with pundits hour after hour analyzing the legitimacy of it. They were more interested in diverting y'all by giving a blow by blow account of who's doing what in Hollywood. It's all so transparent it stinks to high heaven. -
Obama in Europe, and with Foreigners
Carinthia replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
If 200,000 people hadn't turned up for Obama's speech, nobody would care if he was acting presidential, presumptive or whatever. The bottom line is, the world is urging Americans to do the right thing and get rid of this disastrous Republican rule. Like huh, please don't make the same mistake for a third time? -
American Media bias, admit it!
Carinthia replied to stevoh's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No media bias? What about the media "black out" regarding the lack of probing questions in the lead up to the Iraq war? They have all readily admitted that they were instructed by their corporate superiors to just go quietly along with the Bush/Cheney/Rummy plan for war. Had the media done their jobs, Americans may not have been so influenced and supportive of a war that was orchestrated on a pack of lies. There were many people who questioned the legitimacy of this war. The media ignored them. There were many anti war demonstrations in Washington, other American cities and around the world prior to the start of this war. The media chose to ignore it all and played it down by showing small 5 second snippets. There are still many stupid, lazy people who are indeed influenced by the Media. I mean after all, Obama is a Muslim dontcha know? -
U.S. Presidential Elections 2008
Carinthia replied to moderateamericain's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Picking a VP will be the first test of strength for Obama. Hillary and Bill would overshadow him and he knows it. How could he carry on with the "change" mantra if he picked someone who represents the old guard? Plus Bill has baggage that McCain will use in the dirtiest way possible. As well, Bill won't allow himself to be fully vetted. -
They have found Hell, it's in a basement in Austria

Sociopaths. Self gratification at any cost. They have no conscience. Manipulative controllers. Once they figure out how to stay on the right side of the law, they enter politics. And most are highly successful! -

Maybe he sent the wife away to visit her Mother while he built the torture chamber. As well, she may also have been suffering the beaten wife syndrome. Complete submission due to extreme fear and indoctrination. If this is the case, she probably may have suspected something but would have suppressed any urge to investigate or even let the thought fully manifest itself in her mind. These women live strictly in the "here and now" for survival purposes. They have no energy or will to think deeper or act out against their perp. Their existence relies soley on them keeping their own heads above water and trying to out think their perp every minute of their waking moments. Like walking on eggshells 24 hours per day. Hard to fathom, if you've never experienced it. -
