  1. Neat how I can write something in this box, but it doesn't appear anywhere when I hit "submit status".  Neato.

  2. Trudeau booed by young workers when he told them that precarious work is a fact of life now.

Fine, it's same same but different. The "greatest"generation got the depression and war. The baby boomers got the Cold War a booming economy, Woodstock, then stagflation then high interest rates etc. Gen X got the end of disco and the beginning of grunge. Millennials? We'll see what they get. The point is each generation gets a raw deal and gets its share of opportunities. stop complaining and do something.

Sure, and I'm a gen x'er who does not own a house while owning a business worth at least a few hundred thousand. It's all choices and I can tell you that when house prices are high then I go low (which is to say all my net worth is in my business and investment accounts and my travel experiences).  Big deal. The world is the same as it ever was.

That's what we were saying 15 to 20 years ago too. The young always think the world is different this time. Then they get old and most of them realize it isn't all that different.

All politicians do it. The young grow up some day and realize that it's better to pay for some things while young so you can pay less taxes as you get older. No biggie.

Depends on what "solutions" are being proposed.

The young get older and get jobs and payoff student loans so I do not think it is as big a deal as their inexperienced and impatient minds think it is.

Relax young bull. If we take out time we can have them all....

As a fiscal conservative I disagree - reduced GST rather than income tax cuts, taxed income trusts rather than finding an alternative (such as a refundable trust tax), have made the income tax Act more complicated with stupid rule changes (many over little things like forcing year ends because heaven forbid if someone gets an extra few months of tax deferral due to a limited partnership year end being off-calendar year), boutique tax cuts, etc etc... A complete disaster but I'm a tax accountant so I notice all that small stuff.

      Yeah, Paul Martin was great.

My focus is always on the budgets so Paul Martin was awesome and O'Flaherty was awful (although most of the blame likely goes to Harper for his GST cut).

I have mixed feeling on Trudeau.  I like him more than Harper but that's not saying much. I expect after 10 years I will dislike him as much as I disliked Harper.

I think the traffic is down too.

As for the Justin/Hillary worship: lack of criticism of them because Trump is taking up all the bandwidth does not imply worship of them. One should only be able to judge what a person thinks based on what that person actually states, not what is omitted and, therefore, can only be presumed, otherwise we end up in straw man la la land.

  13. Melina defends her boy Donald, saying he was "egged on". Of course he was 59 years old at the time and Billy Bush was in his early 30's or half his age. Yes, the boy will make a great President if a kid can egg him on.

  15. Trump has been a billionaire for how long? Why didn't these women sue him for big bucks earlier? Jimmy Hoffa?

    1. msj

      msj

I doubt many will sue and I doubt many will pursue charges. Trump doing what he says he does (kiss them on the lips and grab their pussy) is unlikely to lead to much consequences. Sexual assault? Yes - technically. But still too minor to warrant more than a public shaming and the loss of the Presidency (and any kind of respect).

Glad you have come around to finally realizing that such blanket bans are stupid! Now that that is out of the way, finally time to realize that banning refugees from certain parts of the world is stupid too?
