Holy sh*t, another one who does not understand relevancy versus irrelevancy. It most certainly is not a simple question, it was simple to understand what was being asked, the answer is a whole other kettle of fish and by its nature very complicated. All that is beside the point though as Dion had no answer to it of any substance at all. By continuing to ask this irrelevant question it is actually you guys who are making yourselves look foolish.

Are you deliberately being obtuse? What on earth does my answering the question have to do with Dions inability to answer it? I'm not running for PM, he is, do you at least understand that concept? So far all you've done is repeatedly trot out your version of the old school yard "maybe I am but what are you" argument. If you're representative of the average Liberal supporter I'm not surprised the party is self destructing. By the way, I fully understand the concept you postulate. Okay, I'll tell you the reason they gave. Its insane but its straight from their mouths. Every one of them stated it was so they could be married. As they explain it, its very difficult to get married in Lebanon now. To marry a man must own something of substance, property, some form of wealth, a woman must have a dowry. These are objectives that are very difficult or even impossible for them to attain. By their reasoning when they blow themselves and others up in the service of Jihad they will ascend to heaven and be granted their virgins. These virgins will be their wives. From the female perspective they will ascend to heaven and become one of the virgins, the holy warrior to whom they are gifted will become their husband. Didn't I tell you it was truly insane? You really should watch this movie, its very informative and quite an eye opener. I should also state that this movie makes no judgements one way or another, they simply wanted answers from those who are involved. Thats why they also interviewed Israelis and the famillies of bombers about the same subject, not always with predictable results I might add.

You just don't get it do you? Once again you avoid the subject and veer off into the hypothetical. Is there something about this concept that baffles you? You're not going to make me PM, I'm not going to be PM, I don't want to be PM. As such your question is reduced to irrelevancy once more. On the other hand Dion wants to be PM, he has a shot at becoming PM, as such the question is entirely relevant when asked of him. You could say that answering that question is part of his job interview. That being the case then it has to be said that he failed miserably in his job interview. As for how the question was asked, well I've yet to see or hear of anyone other than Dion who did not understand the question. That alone speaks volumes about the man.

Once again an invalid argument. The simple fact is that its irrelevant how well anyone here could answer that question, no one here wants to be PM. What matters is how well Dion could answer the question, thats the reason he was there, to give answers to questions. I've never looked for a link stating that, I don't have to. I was a dual citizen, British/Canadian, then I joined and was required to renounce the dual citizenship. Are you implying that I gave it up just for fun? Or because I thought it was a good idea at the time?

This is an entirely specious and fallacious line of reasoning. First you start with an assumption, you have no way of accurately predicting what his wife will do, or anyones wife for that matter. Then you compound your error by stating that he will contribute more because the children will grow up, and assumedly pay taxes. He will not pay more. His grown children will pay their share, he won't pay it for them. Then you compound the error once again by stating he has contributed more to society. Wrong, he has had children, they will contribute to society, not him, beyond his own personel obligation anyway. Are you really a teacher? If so I certainly hope you don't try to teach your students that such invalid arguements are logical and meaningfull because they just are not.

I understand and respect what you are saying but once again it fails to address the motivation of the people who are comiting these attacks in the middle east. Go rent that movie, like I said, you'll be truly shocked when you hear them explain why they do these things. I almost forgot to mention that they also interviewed some female bombers they've caught, the motivation was the same as the males, just from a female perspective instead.

Why? He didn't shoot a Canadian, he allegedly shot an American. So why should he be tried by us when he was fighting Americans. Does that mean if a Canadian goes down to the States and commits murder they shouldn't have the right to bring them to trial, just us? If it makes you feel warm and fuzzy, then yes, lets give him a trial, then boot the lot of them out.

This relates directly to the movie I mentioned, Suicide Killers. Every single bomber they interviwed had the same answer as to why they do it, every free Lebanese supporter of Jihad also had the same answer as to why they do it, and the answer had nothing at all to do with invasion or occupation. Like I said, you'd be shocked if you could hear them talking about their motivation, the words straight from their mouths to your ears. Believe me, the reason is truly truly insane and shows just how dangerous and damaging religion can be. Its also a far more balanced movie as they found and interviewed some Lebanese non supporters of the violence. As the interviewed people said, they're very much against the fighting and want peace but they can't say or do anything about it since they would just be killed out of hand by their fellow country men if they did. Really, if you want to discuss this subject a good place to start would be by watching this movie.

So no one can answer this question or even attempt to answer it. Once again, why is it okay for Dion to hold dual citizenship when he wants to be prime minister yet if you want to be a lowly ordinary member of the military you must give up your dual citizenship. I've yet to see anyone argue that it would be okay to hold dual citizenship as a military member Is it because being an ordinary military member is way more sensitive and important than being PM?

Are you serious? Do you honestly expect me to believe you found this question confusing? Instead what I find is a lot of rationalization intended to excuse the mans total lack of an answer. Screw that , he had no answer. You can sit here all day debating the gramatical integrity of the question but every one who heard it understood exactly what was being asked, except Dion, and, apparently you. This a point that I can sympathise with. I don't have children myself and have always paid more as a result. What I find truly ironic is the fact that I'm classed as a baby boomer, one of those who have destroyed the future with my wanton excess and debauchery yet I pay more into the system than the Canadian average. So I'm codemned as a wastefull wastrel and have to pay more as a result of the fact that I'm a childless wastefull wastrel. What I have learned over the years is quite simple. Don't worry about it, its not going to change and you won't be able to change it, so don't worry about it. Just do what you can to improve your life and do the all the things you really want to do. This is a really old subject, I remember talking about this with my friends back in the early eighties. Hasn't changed since then, not gonna change now.

Well its just my opinion but I believe that if you want the top job in the country then you ditch the other citizenship, simple as that. When I joined the military I had to renounce my dual citizenship. Why should you have to do so if its okay to hold the top spot and not do so? Bit of a double standard if you ask me. Well if you consider stating that he has no idea and will ask some other people what he should do as an answer then I guess you're right. He should have let Kyoto handle the interview, he would have looked much better if he had.

I've mentioned before that I have Native friends (token ones I guess). It was one of these friends, a young man, member of the Daychief family (there's a zillion Daychiefs out here) who was telling me that the most racist people he has ever met are his very own people. Like he said, if a bunch of Bloods are in a bar and some Paigans walk in its instant warfare. Thats why he comes to my place to have a few beers now and avoids the bars. He's just sick of the constant fighting and violence between them. Keep in mind that this is the attitude that exists between them, members of the same race. Its even worse when it comes to other races. The references to Whitey, Chinks, Pakies and so on are pretty common place and can be seen and heard in everyday life on a pretty constant basis. Thats why I just laugh when someone who espouses Native issues claims they aren't racist but white people are. Just spend time with these people, it can be a real eye opener. So please can the tired old hypocritical accusations of white racism, anyone who has actual experience with them can spot the double standard a mile away.

One of the biggest bunches of irrelevant blather I've heard in a while. So, who is taking advantage of a "disability" here? Not the Conservatives, I haven't heard one single word from them about a disability, have you? Is it your view that Dion is being taken advantage of because he screwed up?
