America under President Trump
godzilla replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
no persuasive evidence of systemic, deliberate mishandling of classified information and this is from Trumps State Department. as I've pointed out.... the rule of law can be a bitch. when its obvious that not a jury in the nation will convict someone then its best just to let it go then fail trying. of course, doesn't mean you can't look to other nations that desperately need help for a little assistance. -
as I've said... the danger is that Trump is in real legal jeopardy. more than any other president in recent history. and he knows it. unless he can be sure that the next president will pardon him then he's fucked. so, he's all in for tyranny. when he jokes about serving three terms or four terms... you know how Trump works. its not really a joke. he's not the kind of guy who wouldn't start stuffing ballot boxes. or worse. then he won't need his supporters anymore. its not like, he actually likes his supporters, right? I mean, seriously? he's spent his whole life looking down on yahoos like that.

No, your answer is loud and clear... There is no illegality that Trump can be involved in that would need to be addressed in a court of law. Trump is above the law. If "they" cheat, "we" cheat. If "they" mangle democracy to gain power, "we" mangle democracy to gain power. If "they" lie, "we" lie. A nation of laws no more. Only corrupt power. Sad.

again, the rule of law is all between one and tyranny. this seems to be the argument that Trump and the machine push... that everyone is corrupt. choose your corruption. what I will suggest is that no, all corruption needs to be dealt with appropriately to the rule of law. I mean, your argument is that, yes, Trump is above the law. is that what you're saying? and what if he gets away with this? every part of American policy is open to being dependent on something for Trump? then it'll be a cut in his pocket like the Russian oligarchs? like I said, there is a line. I'm asking about it. I'm really interested in why no one provides any answers.

no, its not a dumb question. and I propose that it tells a lot about fervent supporters of just about anything... I, for one, certainly know when I would regret voting for a particular candidate. they don't get carte blanche to do whatever they want. and maybe that's whats going to be the most shocking to fervent supporters of political parties or politicians... that there are people out there who are not locked in. there are people who when told to drink the cool aide then say "no, not doing that".

you know that project veritas is for tin foil hat people, right? hahaahah! I mean, talk about super cruel. they take down ACORN who is out there working for poor people and then are forced to admit that they lied and pay $100k in damages to the guy who lost his job over it. they admitted to making the whole thing up... but poor people got nothing out of it. they just lost a community outreach resource. fuck the poor, right?
-
no actually, there is no assumption, its not implied implicitly or explicitly... i'll state the question again to be clear: what illegality would Trump have to perform in order for Trump supporters to de-support him? if you are a Trump supporter then what proven illegal activity would cause you to stop supporting Trump?

America under President Trump

“They should investigate the Bidens,” Trump said. “Likewise, China should start an investigation into Biden..." confession of the first crime "That's why we held up the money," Mulvaney said... confession of the second crime without the rule of law then democracy and freedom are done. you've given that up. Trump and his supporters contend that the rule of law doesn't exist. that everyone is corrupt so it really just comes down to who is the most corrupt or who is corrupt in the name of some altruistic path. the reality is that everyone who is guilty of a crime should be punished accordingly. without that then tyranny will reign. -
great, now maybe Trump supporters could refer to my original question. what type of illegality would make you give up on Trump. how bad would it actually have to be. ask yourself that question. and wonder if that's actually a bad thing if you can't come up with an answer.

whew, finally a reasonable defense of Trump! that their approach is so "incoherent" that they are "incapable" of quid pro quo! Lindsay is a genius! once Rs pile on here then this whole mess is over with! Graham claimed there was no quid pro quo before he stopped caring about Trump’s conduct altogether -
I'm really interested in any responses. when do Trump supporters abandon Trump? he's kinda laid out currently that he's, you know, immune to investigation or indictment... so, he operates on that and he's admittedly broken federal laws. so, what exactly could he do to have a die hard Trump supporter abandon him? I think something similar to the Russian Oligarch system is his dream job. would that do it? drinking coolaid from a bucket? nothing at all, he's a god? do tell!

I love this story... its another "look over here, look over here" one. hahaha! cause we should probably ignore the fact that Epstein came to justice in the first place because the NY DA were obviously not satisfied with the luxury treatment he got from republican "justice" in Florida. this is a common thread to Fox news and the Republican machine... "anything we do bad, make it sound like the other side actually did the bad thing". it works for people who have the intellect of a child. "Republicans were protecting Epstein because he had the dirt on the Democrats and he was, like, about to tell us everything and that's why we let him off easy until the damn Democrats assassinated him." well, guess we'll never know now... as usual, Fox is free to spin without anything EVER going to court because there isn't a shred of evidence.

ok, so Clinton gets a blow job from an intern and lies about it so that his wife doesn't find out and he's impeachable. Trump gets a blow job from a porn star and lies about it so his wife doesn't find out, then he breaks the law numerous times while admittedly shaking down a foreign ally using tax payer dollars for his political campaign but he's, you know, golden. I'm sure this has been addressed but you know, people actually voted for Hitler and his populist manipulations. people still vote for Putin even though he needs to stuff ballot boxes and arrest his opposition. people willingly drank coolaide from a bucket for Jim Jones. a third of all people are susceptible to populist emotional responses where they throw logic out the window. Trump operates just like these tyrants. and once he is free to have foreign influences on the election then... he'll just have his political opposition arrested ("lock her up")? disband congress? start shooting people because they're committing "treason". my question to Trump "supporters" is, when is enough, enough? world war? drinking coolaide from a bucket? what could Trump do that would suddenly make you think differently of him?

oh geesh... here I thought it was just corruption in plain site! you know, Trump, Mulvaney and numerous officials admitting that it was quid pro quo for military aid and that the Ukrainians had to make specific statements re investigations about specific targets that only seem to act in Trumps political favor at home and cover for Russians interference in the 2016 election... and its all some genius reverse mindf*ck! I guess the big question is, when will genius Trump reveal the whole plan as a reverse mindf*ck? would we simpletons even understand such intellectual mindf*cking?

Ottawa posts $1.7-billion deficit in August
godzilla replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
absolutely criminal... wonder why this wasn't a topic at election time? i couldn't believe my ears and yet was not at all surprised two weeks after the election that "journalists" were talking raising the question "is a deficit really bad?"! all as a pre-cursor to a government (conservative is too good a word to use for these guys or republicans) whose manifesto is to sell countries to money lenders. the cbc reports "On Friday, the Finance Department said August revenues were up by about $100 million, or 0.5 per cent, from August 2007, because of higher personal income tax but a lower corporate income tax, goods and services tax, and other sales and excise taxes." thanks to those who vote for the rich! -
nice article clearly displaying that any of our current democratic systems seem to strangely support severe plutocracy (ie. rule by the rich). http://sociology.ucsc.edu/whorulesamerica/power/wealth.html

Harper government provoking an election?
godzilla replied to godzilla's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
i always get a big laugh out of this kind of brain washed rhetoric! here in bc the entire costs of welfare account for .3% of the total provincial budget. you must be talking about the corporate welfare state! where huge income trusts that have billions in revenue pay no tax!
