Was the US election hacked?
godzilla replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
personal attacks are not necessary WCM. why not create a new thread comparing presidents then? maybe we can put a nail in this thread as it would appear there is no evidence provided that the election was somehow stolen. -

more whataboutism! can you post once without bringing up past political figures and dead people? you keep assuming that people who call trump out are obama supporters. or clinton supporters. obama sucks. clinton sucks. your logic is that trump sucks but not as much as the clintons? so that means people have to accept trump even though he sucks. or even worse, worship him as a god? -

TWO tweets! ONE video! hahahahahaha! thanks man. that never gets old. its too bad that the TWO tweets! ONE video! were getting drowned out by screaming Trump fanatics on live tv on every channel on the planet. TWO tweets! ONE video! its too bad that Trump couldn't get ONE person to provide verifiable evidence that fraud was committed during the election though... -

i wouldn't begin to argue that military spending by the soviets didn't helped with the demise of the USSR. just that it was a small part because... all spending by the USSR led to their demise and does to all countries that aren't able to actually make money in the first place. -

ok, ok... not a storming. who gives a fuck what you call it. call it kids birthday party. "So now, between 2:47 and 4:22 we're up to two tweets and a video from Trump, and a tweet and a video from Pence." an amazing response from the guy who the mob is attacking the capitol in his name! TWO tweets and ONE video! fuckin amazing response! the whole thing was bad news. it looked bad on all the channels. there was nothing Fox could even do the sugar coat it. and it was on Trumps watch! lots of Whataboutism. i don't give a fuck about Obama or what he did. we're talking about Trump. -

the ruling with the iron hand trick didn't work. its all that he knows. lets face it, he denies racial inequality. so he was incapable of speaking or acting in terms that would have chilled the situation. -

in what way was Russia violating with impunity? its actually impossible to know any of this. if Trump officials don't say directly what and why. i'm not party to the details any more than others on this board. only time will tell. and if the Trump administration made progress in the middle east then thats great. my understanding was that was Kushners file. maybe he should run for president next. i never said that Trump didn't have some successes. its too bad that his failings will completely obliterate those successes in history. a one term president. twice impeached. a failed tyrant. and from he and his supporters perspective... always the victim of some grand conspiracy by faceless individuals that no one can identify. -

you say that it wasn't "storming" and yet you admit that it was a "riot". could be just more problems with shared definitions. i'd say the videos of police officers valiantly pushing back in doorways for 30 minutes is a storming. and why do you keep bringing up BLM protests? Trump was in charge of the country at the time. he didn't deal with it. he could have been out there calming people and agreeing to discussions. not his forte obviously. your simple account of Trumps participation is without merit: 2021 storming of the United States Capitol "Trump, who had spent previous weeks promoting the "Save America" rally,[253] was "initially pleased" when his supporters breached the Capitol and refused to intercede,[254] but also "expressed disgust on aesthetic grounds" over the "low class" appearance of the supporters involved in the rioting.[255] Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) said that senior White House officials told him that Trump was "delighted" to hear that rioters were entering the Capitol.[256] Staffers reported that Trump had been "impossible to talk to throughout the day", and that his inability to deal with his election loss had, according to one staffer, made Trump "out of his mind."[257] Concerned that Trump may have committed treason through his actions, White House Counsel Pat Cipollone reportedly advised administration officials to avoid contact with Trump and ignore any illegal orders that could further incite the storming to limit their prosecutorial liability under the Sedition Act of 1918.[258] Shortly after 2:00 p.m. EST, as the riot was going on and after senators had been evacuated from the Senate floor, Trump phoned Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), asking them to make more objections to the counting of the electoral votes to try to overturn the election.[259] At 2:47 p.m., as his supporters violently clashed with police at the Capitol, Trump tweeted, "Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!"[260] The Washington Post later reported that Trump did not want to include the words "stay peaceful".[261] Trump was in the West Wing of the White House at the time. A close adviser to Trump said the president was not taking many phone calls. When Trump watches television, the adviser explained, he will pause a recorded program to take a phone call, but "if it's live TV, he watches it, and he was just watching it all unfold."[262] By 3:10 p.m., pressure was building on Trump to condemn supporters engaged in the riots; Trump's former communications director, Alyssa Farah, called upon him to "Condemn this now" and wrote "you are the only one they will listen to."[260] By 3:25 p.m., Trump tweeted "I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue," but did not call upon the crowd to disperse.[260] By 3:40 p.m., a number of congressional Republicans called upon Trump to more specifically condemn violence and to call on his supporters to end the occupation of the Capitol: House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R–CA) said that he had spoken to Trump to ask him to "calm individuals down"; Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued a tweet telling Trump that "it is crucial you help restore order by sending resources to assist the police and ask those doing this to stand down"; and Representative Mike Gallagher (R–WI), in a video message, told Trump to "call it off".[260] In contrast to Trump, who only called upon his supporters to "remain peaceful", Pence called for the occupation of the Capitol to end immediately.[260] Lindsey Graham later told the Washington Post that "it took [Trump] awhile to appreciate the gravity of the situation ... [he] saw these people as allies in his journey and sympathetic to the idea that the election was stolen".[261] By 3:50 p.m., White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said that the National Guard and "other federal protective services" had been deployed.[260] At 4:06 p.m. on national television, President-elect Biden called for President Trump to end the riot. At 4:22 p.m., Trump issued a video message on social media that was later taken down by Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. In it, he praised his supporters and repeated his claims of electoral fraud, saying: "This was a fraudulent election, but we can't play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So go home. We love you. You're very special. You've seen what happens. You see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel. But go home and go home in peace."[61][260] At 6:25 p.m., Trump tweeted: "These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long" and then issued a call: "Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!"[260][62][263] At 7:00 p.m., Rudy Giuliani placed a second call to Lee's number and left a voicemail intended for Tuberville urging him to make more objections to the electoral votes as part of a bid "to try to just slow it down". Giuliani said: "I know they're reconvening at 8 tonight, but it ... the only strategy we can follow is to object to numerous states and raise issues so that we get ourselves into tomorrow – ideally until the end of tomorrow."[259]" -

Trump wanted China in START. it was communicated by his administration. Trump Wants China on Board With New Arms Control Pact yeah, i don't know... maybe he thought he was having a second term or maybe after all of the China bashing because of the virus he thought somehow China would just throw in the towel in a matter of six months and sign on or something. 100% sarcasm there. either way, didn't work out. Biden just signed on to whats there before time ran out next month. if you're implying that its better to let it run out than sign on and continue to negotiate then i suspect thats not a call anyone on this board is able to make. and of course Putin would say that he won that battle. and maybe he did because Trump dragged his heals when they knew this was coming from the beginning. -

well its an interesting topic that could take up a thread in itself. there are a lot of challenges in policing such volumes of data and having meaningful and enforceable rules around it. what i was hoping to point out though is that the recent labeling of "liberal bias" in social media is yet another attempt at representing something that it is not. its a business matter and not a political one. the feds shut down services that cater to illegal communications all the time. -

bias needs to be removed from the media. Republicans should back a new FCC Fairness Doctrine that Regan got rid of. hang on... that would mean that Fox news would have to give equal time to Democrat viewpoints? not sure they want that! while they're at it they should include that private businesses should not restrict their services to people planning illegal activities including murder, insurrection, drug dealing... whatever. free speech! -

Trump, the big deal maker! not. guess he waited too long? he wanted China and fire breathing dragons included. so everyone was left scratching their heads i guess. typical of Trump because he always figured that if the other side wasn't going to give him everything then theres no deal. no clue of international diplomacy. Biden gets it done. -
From Fox News Least corrupt nations worldwide produce best COVID-19 response, says anti-graft watchdog study "This year’s index showed the United States hitting a new low amid a steady decline under the presidency of Donald Trump, with a score of 67 on a scale where 0 is "highly corrupt" and 100 is "very clean." That still put the U.S. 25th on the list in a tie with Chile, but behind many other Western democracies. It dropped from scores of 69 in 2019, 71 in 2018 and 75 in 2017, and was down to the lowest level since figures for comparison have been available."
