Canada blocks Commonwealth climate-change deal
noahbody replied to trex's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Cherry pick data? He takes the time to explain how the cherry picked data has been used to sell GW. Watch all four parts, with the sound on this time. Why wasn't it again that polar bears don't exist? -

Again, all you seem to do is try to position this as right wing vs left wing. This kind of thinking is the problem. You don't have to make decisions based on your political affiliation. Really. I'm not kidding. Watched that lecture yet? -

I always thought a good cartoon would have been Dion's dog Kyoto taking a dump and Dion saying to Harper "Aren't you going to clean that up?" -

Try again. The link worked for me. Alternatively you can go to youtube and search for "Climate Change - Is CO2 the cause?" If you can discredit what is said, I'd be interested in hearing. The fact he makes very clear is that the 'rapid' increase in temperature we are seeing is in no way unprecedented, as claimed. The earth has been there, done that, several times. Like Gore's mentor (the situation really hasn't changed since he died), he doesn't see any real cause to be alarmed at this point in time. I agree with both of them. -

Not sure if you saw this request or if it got buried in the posts. The problem with this issue is that is politicized. If scientists revert to calling those who question their theories names, it's a good indication that they don't have the strongest case. I can't see how anyone with the ability to reason would look at this situation and come to the conclusion that the world should spend trillions on it. That said, I have no problem with spending money on environmental problems such as pollution. Watch the lecture and we can discuss it. It's free. -

I suppose if there's more analytical people on the right that's true. The left does attract the emotional types. But framing it right or left just makes it easy for partisan people to pick a side. This is worth watching if you haven't seen it yet. It's pt 1 of 4 of a bob carter lecture. -

I don't know how this is a right or left wing issue. Right brained or left-brained definitely. -

I guess if you're right, Canada will be well ahead of the world when the next cooling phase has these same scientists setting targets for increasing Co2 levels. -
Withhold the evidence from police that will clear your name. That's quite a defense strategy. Ever occur to you whoever told you that might be using you as a propaganda outlet as you'll spew just about anything without questioning its validity?

I heard her say, she knew for about the last 8 years. Personally, I think she made it up on the spot as a response to a stupid question.

Eldorado was a crown corporation. I'd imagine the government, not Cameco is responsible to clean it up. -
Conservatives bringing back death penalty for Canadians abroad

I'd characterize it as a knee jerk reaction to the media story in Montana of the bureaucrat floating the idea of bringing Smith back to Canada. In my opinion, they were trying to counter that message with tough on crime press. Realistically, it's only posturing. The Smith case had already been lobbied. He's the only one on death row. -
I think that means he can dance.

I think he was responding to Jennie's post. Either that or he's the wandmaker from Harry Potter. -
Also know Melvin Styres, the man who posted the bail for Byron Powless made this statement: "He was defending the right of the Haudenosaunee people (to their land) as he understands it," he said. Hate to foreshadow, but it doesn't sound like a claim of self-defense will be coming.

I didn't make a defamatory statement. I provided you with information and asked you a question. The boy had his second appearance in court October 17. I assume he entered a plea on that date. Maybe you could find out for me if he pleaded guilty or not guilty. Thanks. Have you seen it? No? Then how do you know it exists? Maybe it would be a good idea to hand it over to the police or put it on youtube. Again, two of the accused are over 18. I don't believe it's the Gualtieri crew that has been charged with assault. Stop making defamatory statements.

Did the 15-year old plead guilty or not guilty to the charges against him? If guilty, please quit spreading fantasy. FYI, in the official police version, the accused 15 year old has one of the workers in a headlock. And later says he should have broken his neck when he had the chance. Not with the friends I keep. Sorry. You seem to have a lot of misdirected anger. If I had to guess, I'd say your trust was violated by someone in the past. If so, try to remember it wasn't me. I wasn't around 200 years ago either.

To my observation, there might be one, but he doesn't push his agenda. If you take a look, most of the racial threads are started by the same person, who's a native supremest. Disagree with her and you'll be a white supremest too. I assume she'll be booted soon by Charles who will then also become a white supremest. Your comment about Alberta more than a little off base. Ever been here?

K. Horn is an elder. I think if you ask her she'll tell you Joe Gualtieri was the one handing out the blankets.

I didn't say the Liberals were worse. When in power, they didn't think the issue deserved action. I doubt Dion was aware of this before he made a stink as it only makes him look more of a fool. As far as Schreiber goes, I don't care if he nails Mulroney or not. Give him one chance to do so. If he wants an extended stay for information though, put him on the next plane out.

When you're standing outside and notice you're getting wet, you don't need a weatherman to confirm that it's raining do you? Similarly, in this case, all that's really required is the ability to be able to recognize a pattern. Watch segment 1, at least. It won't kill you. -

On question period, Ralph Goodale was going on and on about how the committee is needed to look into why this government did nothing after it was contacted by Schreiber. The point he didn't seem to want to address was that his former boss, Paul Martin, was contacted by Schreiber in 2003 and did nothing.
