  1. The *net* adjustment was a little under $40K. Can you figure that out? I can figure this out. If you didn't have Geoffrey here to sort your facts out you would be lost. You were questioning his accounting. I was not.
  2. .......Another seat in Alberta.
  3. You have a link that isn't subscription?
  4. There are those whom believe in environmental initiatives and those whom do not. These people are not stagnat, depending on the environmental event. Many people simply cannot grasp the effect of man on Global Warming, and these people belong in all political spectrums. On top of that, those that may believe in an environmental problem, may not agree with the solution to that problem. People whom shout "Right Wingers" or "Leftists" are generally incompetent Idealogs. These "Right Wingers" whom dislike a certain environmental concern or solution, blame "leftists" in order to wallpaper over their lack of understanding or weakness in argument. Those "Leftist" whom cannot understand reasonable arguments that question such environmental concerns or solutions shout "Right Winger" to the poster, without arguing their case effectively. Why because the object of debate is complex and shouting and blaming is the easiest course of action. If you want to be identified as "Right" or "Left" that is your choice. I don't believe "right wingers" hate the environment. I don't believe anyone hates the environment. For me, I can't believe a group of thousands of Climatology Scientists are all part of the Marxist-Lennonist Party. This being the party of Groucho Marx and John Lennon.
  5. Unless the poster has since trimmed down the size of his post, I find the length, content and additional links not too excessive, and just informative enough to let one decide whether to follow the other links.
  6. Yet another thread on Global Warming, Greenhouse Gas, Climate Change, Kyoto......
  7. Either Jordan is lying or Stephen Harper is a dupe? If the case is so straight forward that you can accept Jordans Position then you are questioning Harpers Judgement. Why has Jordan Waited so long, to speak up? Why did they wait until After Harper has Compensated Arar?
  8. What lyrics in Fortunate Son relate to weather or climate? None, Now that you have started using CCR in your answers, you can answer all the threads quoting CCR songs. That was a choice song for another thread you participate in. I know, I have been laughing the whole time.
  9. That is my take on it. But I am just learning about income trusts. What I do find interesting is that Ricki Bobbi and Saturn are arguing the same point. I do think h*LL is freezing over. What I am concluding is that Jim Flaherty did this about face in short order. I don't think that was fair to the proponents or the investors. Certainly a debate of some sort would have allowed for people to have a better understanding of what direction our country should be going with regards to taxation and income trusts.
  10. This is not a CPC thing. It is the wackos in the riding association. Tiffs occur in riding associations, and it is always a good thing to keep such things out of the media spotlight. Perhaps the workers whom took this thing to the police were doing the right thing. I do not know. Regardless it is really bad press for the Essex MP. It does not shine a bright light on the riding association. The best thing the CPC could do right now is distance themselves as far as possible from this bad publicity.
  11. Watson pulled behind the scenes infighting out into the open public. To use the courts for political reasons with regards to a nomination challenge is STUPID. You can try and discredit the source, but you had better use your spin in the riding where it matters. I don't know if 3,600 votes is enough or not. But public opinion will be shaped with regards to Watson and anyone else involved. Would the CPC be better off to find another Candidate ?
  12. I have noticed alot of Laytons comments talk about Stephen needing to change direction and alot of Stephens comments in the past weeks have been a significant change in direction from his past comments. Are these guys trying to nullify the environment effect before the next election or take advantage of it?
  13. Tell it to this man He thinks we affect climate.
  14. Are going to present all your arguments with CCR lyrical Content. Creedence Clearwater Revivial - Fortunate Son Should be an excellent choice.
  15. Better email these guys. I don't think they believe you. Perhaps you need to broaden your tag line. PROUD TO BE A REFORMER, BUY A GUY AND PO A CONSERVATIVE  Sounds pretty retarded this way too.
  16. Are you commenting on GHGs or the "environment" in general which is a very broad topic. The Canadian Government has rejected Kyoto?
  17. You voted Liberal?
  18. Layton certainly did bring it up. Others also pressed the government to do so. But the Prime Minister of Canada and his Ministers determine the issues that they are going to press on the US. Layton doesn't need Harpers permission to bring up an issue with the US. He has done just that in the past. But Stockwell Day does need Harpers Permission. And Harper is the Prime Minister of Canada whom has the best relations with the US President. Harper would not risk his credibility with President Bush, over the words of Jack Layton. And Jack Layton didn't have Harper in an Armbar. Just because you don't like your Prime Ministers actions, don't go blaming others. You disagree with Harper and Day and you are not alone. I share a similar opinion to Wilkens, particularly with the public way the US government was attacked by our government over the matter. They should have held these talks behind closed doors. And we would not want the US telling us whom to let into our country. That said, there are other factors to consider. I know a number of people barred from the US for reasons far less than being accused of terrorist links. I have seen the chaos that can be caused when travelling around the globe. Our government has a right to inquire and they do as do the lawyers, and there are thousands of cases on any given day that people are trying to rectify. But they aren't made public, or made to look like demands upon the US government.
  19. 539,915 + $913,710 + $1.45 million = 10 k Damn accountants, never could figure them out.
  20. Whether man does or does not control climate. Watch as Stephen Harper ends up passing a bill with regards to climate change.
  21. This is not Layton That is a government Minister, Stockwell Day is able to make his own decisions. This also is not Layton That is Stephen Harper the Prime Minister of Canada. He too, can make his own decisions.
  22. I think you have made a mistake in the thread title by accident.
  23. Are you suggesting the CPC don't deserve the seat? Or would lose it to a strong Candidate? The infighting is in a riding not normally held by Conservatives, and is really getting some bad press. The riding was Liberal for a very long time, and by very wide margins. Both ridings which created the new riding were strongly Liberal. That is not the case in Essex.
  24. Yes, I would agree with that. But you know very well, that a seat that has been in Liberal hands for 46 years, and with the current CPC incumbent and the Riding are receiving such negative press, would indicate, that this seat is going to be very difficult to retain. If this seat is lost by the CPC it would once again remain a Liberal Stronghold, for possibly another 46 years. Yes, it is one seat, but one seat that the CPC cannot afford to lose in Ontario.
