Nortel has been into schemes and scams for close to a decade. I recall smelling the stink of John Roth as he was exiting Nortel and cashing out hours before the stocks tumbled. Nortel lost any credibility with me around that time, but people continued to be suckered into supporting this company and in the following years, we have seen some outrageous business plans. But there is always a great price for incompetence. Yes, we must pay high dollars to keep the scammers and the incompetents running the company. Our courts are very complaint at providing for the most powerful and most incompetent at the same time. No, instead of cutting these guys off at the knees..... the courts provide them will millions to stay on. Should I expect anything more.... absolutely not. Well, Russell, you need to be retrained, You need to get into technology.... opps wrong speech for the unemployed and severancely shafted...... our bankruptcy laws here, wouldn't do shit for you either. You are screwed. Russell you must recognise what could happen if we don't give these big fat bonuses to a bunch of Corporate bums. Sponsor an Executive Money well spent

The CPC are in freefall in Quebec. There is no way the CPC will hold onto all their seats in Quebec. I cannot believe the BQ will be reduced significantly, it never fails when the writ is dropped they somehow find a way to remain the #1 choice for Quebec. But since I have been wrong on just about everything regarding Quebec Politics........ best you stick with August1991 as one of our most reliable punters.

Galloway is not the only one to make absurd statements.

No, I think he was an asshole. And the supporting cast on that show were a combination of dicks and assholes. What that show did, was demonstrate how inconsiderate and out of touch Fox News hosts are regarding the activities of their allies. "I didn't know they were in Afghanistan". And you think that f234wits like that have something to offer? Maybe it was the manicures...... If I want to know about our military I have a damn good source here on MLW.

Well, Wild Bill.... It would prevent this ..

Harper Working on Scrapping the Gun Registry!
madmax replied to wulf42's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
In 2004 and 2006 the LPC MP discussed cutting funding to the registery as a way to make the issue go away while discussing the registry in a public forum. So, I am not surprised that other parties are interested in cutting the funding to the registery. If "Harper" was going to scrap the Gun Registry it wouldn't be a "private members bill". Harper has no intention of scrapping the gun registry as it is a problem that he can milk every election. The Gun Registry is to the CPC what Child Care is to the LPC. An issue to campaign on year in, year out, and never do anything about it. As long as the Gun Registry exists, the CPC can bash the LPC. The CPC could put it through as a confidence measure, and challenge the LPC head on. They have no intention of doing this, and even went out of their way NOT to do with when the Dion Chicken nodder was heading the LPC. Ignatieff and has voted with the CPC on every bill, and will likely do so until the fall. They would do so, even if the registry was put on the table. Why is that? Because in the last budget, the LPC caved in on defending womens rights. All decisions made by the LPC are about the future viability of the LPC, not the good of the country. Knowing this, Harper wouldn't dare risk a government supported Bill on the Gun Registry for fear it would pass. That said, the police unions that back the CPC want to keep the Registry. The Registry is not the big issue today that it was in 2004. And Harper knows this, so he wants to milk every drop out of those who despise the registery and will vote CPC as long as they keep promising to scrap it. -

THere is a sucker born every minute. Harper isn't scrapping anything. -
The days of student radicalism cannot be explained 35 years later. But the actions that I saw in the weather underground are the actions of terrorists. Just like I have watched on TV as Black Panthers and other leaders of groups from the past got rounded up after 911, their past sins have not been forgiven or forgotten. It was a different time, a different era, and people would use extreme methods to fight for "freedom" of racism or war. Are these people terrorists today? Should we fear them? The answer to those questions is obvious. But many stupid decisions similar to those made in the 60's and 70s are making their way back into mainstream thinking when it comes to over the top responses from Government. George Galloway could have came here and left, as he has done before, and only a few hundred may have heard him speak, and he would have been forgotten just as quickly. What the government has done is stupid. The Opposition response is weak.
-
If the University wants to not allow Galloway to speak, then that is their position/problem, just as it is when other groups/speakers are allowed or not allowed to speak. The argument by the Canadian Government is weak.

I read Harpers comments on the Gun Registery. What a load of bollocks. He is good at playing both sides of the fence. -
IIRC George Galloway is not not coming to Canada after speaking in the United States?
-
ToucheIf only Fox News could be as clever and sarcastic and fixed in fact as you. Your comments are far more biting then Fox. There is always a lining of truth in your comments, whether I agree with what you say or not.
-
If only they weren't forgeries and fabrications...and Perhaps Christian Science Monitor would still be around. (One of my favourite reads).

Here is the answer to your question.

I want to see George Galloway return to Canada. He is already taking pot shots from Ignatieff, who like Stephen Harper supported the War on Iraq. But Ignatieff likes to throw insults while he defends the right for someone to come into the country. Apparently according to Ignatieff, everything Mr. Galloway says is a lie, or he never has believed a word out of Mr Galloways mouth, or he Never has agreed with Mr. Galloway, (Take your pick), but he does defend his right to come here. I am hardly afraid of George Galloway, nor do I consider him a threat to our country. And yes, I would be hard pressed to believe the security nonsense that his being drummed up. Do I have to agree with George Galloway? No, but I certainly don't have to put up tactics used by the former USSR and Communist China to deny people the right to speak, especially someone never convicted of anything as far as I know.... Just in case, check wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Galloway Galloway is a controversial person. Wiki spells out quite clearly the ups downs and arounds of Galloway. And while we can judge Galloway on his comments, call them outrageous, ignorant, rude, stupid, or brilliant, intelligent, smart, or with conviction, all would apply to this person. Banning him from the country only makes Canada look rediculous to the rest of the world. Galloway is despicable but.... Banning Brit a clumsy and dangerous move Here are some comments by Galloway http://www.thedailyobserver.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1489176 I believe we just gave a British Parlimentary member more press then he ever could have drummed up himself if he had been allowed to come to Canada as he has come here many times and virtually few people ever knew or heard about his "lectures". Now Galloway receives world wide coverage, and Canada is going to have to explain to the rest of the world including the UK where he sits as a member of parliment, just why he is a threat to national security.

The polling results on MLW aren't close as of today. Its 15 to 6 of decided voters. 2.5 for FPTP for every 1 vote for PR.

"Red Eye" is not a NEWS show. Fox News needs to be reclassified as a comedy network. The defenders of Fox News often compare Foxes reporting to the "the John Stewart Show". The John Stewart Show is a comedy show shown on the Comedy Channel. Fox News is 24 hours of newsfarce. But one "Pretends" to be real. The other "Believes" it is real.

NDP upset with Chinese made Ontario flags

And not above the Progressive Conservatives who support Peter Kormos statements. PC Leadership possibility.. PC MPP Tim Hudak agrees. "In a time of job loss, economic crisis, I think our Ontario flag...should be made in Ontario," he argued. A downtown Toronto company, Flying Colours International, had been making the flags for the Legislature for over 12 years, but they recently lost the contract to a company from China, which will fork in $40,000 per year over the next 3 years.
