Good for you. TBH I've never seen you be rude to her, but I asked Goddess about her cryptic post about 'trolls' and wondered if she was talking about altai because between those two it's definitely a two-way street. If altai is rude to her is because Goddess dishes it out herself.

Lots do talk down to her because of her religion. People even tried shutting her down for posting Turkish music. I know she says a lot of things I don't agree with but instead of antagonizing her as many of you do, I move along instead of picking fights with a teenager.

You trivializing the matter only demonstrates MH's point. They trivialized Ms. and now it's 'logical'. They trivialized civil rights and gay rights but now they're 'logical' too. With enough time when trans rights become 'logical', there will also be a lot of people wondering why anyone would put up a fuss about addressing others using the pronouns they so wish.

I don't defend her views, I'm just sharing my observation that she's only rude with the people who are rude with her.

She hasn't been to me. Then again I don't spend a lot of time talking down to her because of her religion. Likewise a lot of people you probably consider sweet as pie aren't very nice with me and I don't think highly of them either. That's pretty much the point I'm making - just because we bicker with some people more than others doesn't make them a troll.
-
Are you're talking about Altai? If so, as an outsider's observation, you both address each other in a disrespectful way so it's not that she's a troll, but you two seem to have an underlying animosity toward each other.

Language as it pertains to respect and equality evolves through social revolutions and this is just one form of it. Feudal system titles, using n-word or 'boy', all these things went into the dustbin of time the same way duality of gender will one day end up in the same dust bin while some of you fight on the wrong side of history.

You're Nelson Mandela compared to the trolls (as defined by smallc, not that I'm calling anyone in particular a troll).

Native Ceremony takes place at a public school

Your opinion, whatever it may be, is irrelevant. They will continue to be areas of interest to some students and the school curriculum will continue to expose students to them for that reason. That's my point. -

Kids are exposed to a little bit of everything because not every kid grows up to be a scientist or mathematician. Some do go into humanities and social sciences and no matter what your opinion is of those programs, there will be kids who will show a desire to learn about them the same way some will go into vocational or business or the arts. Kids get exposed to public works sector, history and other various events for the same reason. -

Agreed, I also said I'd like my kid to learn about Passover and Eid and spiritual cleansing. That's completely different than disallowing Christianity as a curriculum which resulted after centuries of abuse -

First, the war on Christmas is a sack of lies from the Christian Right, forever victims of their own minds. Corporations figured they can sell more stuff if their employees said happy holidays and next thing you know it's a war on Christianity. Every person I know celebrates Christmas, whether they're black white or some shade in between. It's a cultural event now with its roots in Christianity (who stole it from Pagans). Second, context matters. Christians have spent centuries going on crusades and sending missionaries to convert heathens. There were atrocities committed in Canadian schools in the name of Christianity. To this day Christians are at it all over Africa. It baffles my mind that you can't see why the two scenarios would be regarded differently. I'll spell it out for you - one is indoctrination the other is culturally educational. -

It doesn't say anything to you about the hypocrisy of the parents suing the school now that I've demonstrated that BC school systems still do celebrate Christian festivities? Personally I hope Christmas concerts stay and I hope my kid gets to participate a FN cleansing activity. I hope she learns about Passover and Eid It's a bummer some people are so uptight they're blurring the lines between learning about cultural celebrations and religious indoctrination. -

What do you think of my kids's Christmas concert next month at her school? Exclusively referred to as a Christmas concert in every correspondence.
