By most metrics...not even close. Beyond Thretheway , Regent Park and parts of Jane Finch corridor, could you enlighten us to where they are? Not over populated, but that can be a personal thing, and yeah, traffic is a problem and it is expensive, but not on any world scale it isnt. There is violence here, no doubt, but also true, almost nowhere one cannot walk around safely. But if your premise is true (and you say you lived here??) then why is Toronto #26 on the Danger List for Canada's top 100 ? Are there any cities even close in size to TO ? No, all are smaller and conventional thinking is safer, but thats almostnever been true. My own niece wouldnt move here from Ottawa....its too scary with the guns and murders and such....until she was shown the facts. She lived in more danger where she was than moving here. (But I do get where people come to those thoughts.) And thats great, all are wonderful cities. But in my neighbourhood (my house built 1910)I walk amongst the flora and fauna all the time. (unless you mean forests stretching beyond the eye...then of course not)

Illegal workers in U.S.
guyser replied to WestCoastRunner's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
For the most part, taxes are paid, deducted at source. Its a boon for shady employers who dont submit those up the chain, and a boon for the State and Feds since they do not have to pay out the bennies. Win Win....'cept for the avg guy . -
Yup Right at #1 baby ! I suppose if Quebec (City I presume?)Vancouver , Victoria and Calgary had something to offer, they may have made the list.
-
It is. Youre right , they dont lie, but the coffee is still crap. The lines prove it is popular.....nothing else .

LOL Maybe they could call the SCC and ask.......nah, wtf would those folks at the Supreme Court know. -
English.....comprehension and all, that is lacking. No one focused on Target, merely a statement that they better not send up the same type of idiots who made all the mistakes.
-
Uh oh....lets hope they arent the same type of idiots as Target moved here. Epic fail !

Not bad at all. Im betting they didnt include sports teams in that ranking, nor a winter index. And congrats to Montreal placing second. http://news.nationalpost.com/2015/01/29/toronto-ranked-best-place-to-live-in-economist-ranking-of-cities-around-the-world/ Let the haters chime in.....

Yogi always protects Boo Boo. -
Lol not so sure about that, but it was a faux pas on my part.

Rather presumptious huh? Again with this putting words in my mouth I didnt say. Again, is there a problem with sticking to what I have said? The link said that 16% had a relapse, it did not say they went fullblown back to drinking. 5% did. NO no it didnt. YOU say that they are pissing away the resources, no one else. If it said a 16% mortality rate for all liver transplants for those who drank heavily, you may have a point. But it didnt, and neither did you .

You cant ? I grant you , Loatians are hard to distinguish, but Koreans Japanese and chinese are generally easy. But I should not have posted Chinese but rather Asian (although the Chinese do love Starbucks from what I see) Yea well.....no whitey hipster would be caught dead in a Tims
-
Perhaps, but in Newfoundland a storm like that in January is called Tuesday.

Mind pointing out where it stated the above? Thanks. Id be embarassed if I were to roll my eyes ..............then completely crap the bed by being wrong. Best go back and read the report . K? (hint, there are two studies referenced) thanks. BT W, 5% is not a big deal....anywhere. Heart transplant anyone? 85-90% success. That means 10% die in the first year. The 5% is the % of people who wind up back at the heavy drinking stage...not dead. So ya, 5%...pfft, nothing.
-
I personally would not know. Ergo some investigation/science should be done. But 5.3% is not really huge a problem. ALthough I have no way of measuring or knowing for fact, but I would not be surprised if infection/hospital diseases kill more transplant patients as does the alcohol. 200,000 people die in the US for mistakes/misreads/sanitary issues. The reports also suggest that some prime candidates who were sober for some time died due to not continuing with the autoimmune pills, thus they died for not taking pills not the alcohol they may have consumed. So many factors are at play, living conditions, other health issues, medications and so on. So my concern is more what do they know before they put the rule in effect ?

Canadians Want American Super Bowl Ads
guyser replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Media and Broadcasting
Ahh...that explains your misunderstanding of this. It most certainly is not ...."thou shalt not show 'Murican ads while watching the Super Bowl". But it does give you giggles so there is always that. Well done.
