It wasn't hard to figure out that you were a zealot. What you don't seem to understand is that your rights would be protected, just that rights would be granted to the living child inside of you after a certain amount of development occurs. That makes for competing rights and leave it to the courts to decide which trumps which. It's not taking rights away from women it's giving them to a child who would be viable outside of the womb. You need to be less myopic in your outlook and realize that this isn't all about you and your feelings. When there is a viable fetus inside of you that could live outside of the womb I don't think the woman should have the right to kill it with the aforementioned exceptions. No right is absolute. You don't want to have a baby? Use contraceptives, have an abortion before the fetus has brain activity. If you can't or won't figure it out before 20 weeks of gestation then tough, you have the baby. That is not 'punishment' that is the miracle of life. How self-involved do you have to be to not see that?

I voted for no abortions after 3 months. I guess that is pro-abortion? Whoever said that all the pro-life people were absolutely against abortion altogether? I also imagine that alot of pro-lifers would call me pro-choice and alot of pro-choicers would call me pro-life. Life doesn't work that way, most people are moderate.

Do I want parliament to suspend the nations business to look at this one issue? Of course not, but if they are going to talk about it, my solution would be a winner in my opinion. Is it ok with you that I have an opinion on this subject? Let me know cause next time I will ask your permission before I get all uppity and state my opinion.

It is broke in my opinion. If people would gravitate out of the paralyzing pro-life and pro-shoice zealots then we can have reasonable accomodation on this issue. Restrictions after 20 weeks is doable and humane. I like to live in a country with humane laws where viable fetus' can be protected. Like I said before, even if there weren't any kidnappings in our society, I should think we would still want a law that said kidnapping was illegal.

Sorry? what? If you are making that comment in reference to perhaps the teenagers hiding a pregnancy for 6 months and then forcing them to bring the baby to term as punishment? Agreed but that will not solve all of the issues. After 6 months 'not knowing' isn;t good enough and therefore they have forfeited their right to 'choose'. Under my legislation they have all the right in the world to choose, up to 20 weeks then their inaction is taken to mean that they choose to have the baby.

At the same time, asking Immigration Canada to get it's show in order is not necessarily exhibiting anti-immigrant sentiment. I have honestly seen very little anti-immigrant sentiment on this board.

Yes, I am thankful they are rare. My point is that for late term abortion where there is no medical emergency there should be none, not 'rare'. I don;t think a teenager who 'hid' a pregnancy for 6 months should be able to get an abortion at that time because having a baby would be 'inconvenient'.

The absence of crime does not give reason to have laws banning certain behaviours, including rape, breaking and entering etc etc. As for Morgentaler I erred, he is actually against them after 24 weeks. But I can think you can take a Dr's word for it that there is a demand for late term abortions among teenaged girls.

I'm proposing legislation similar to what all the countries of Europe have. I am having difficulty remembering what difficulties Europeans are having with their 'restrictive' abortion laws. I'm sure if Beligium can have some sort of abortion legislation Canada can too don't you think? Henry Morgantaler said that he aborted fetus' at nine months gestation. That change your mind? Not that it should matter. I would support law restricting rape even if there were no crimes involving rape this year. Wouldn't you? Why? Men are as a result of pregnancy too. lol amazing what one will force oneself to think when you are trying to be hyper PC. It is their own body, but at some point they are responsible for a body that ss growing within their body. Not rocket science here. Every country in Europe affords some rights to that body within the pregnant woman at some point in gestation. Only Canada confers ZERO rights to the fetus at any stage of development in the western world.

You missed the point of the book if you think that Jared Diamond thinks that the banking system was the reason that Europe discovered North America and not the other way around. And you are also ignoring the dark ages in your supposition. Not a good time to be a white bread Anglo to be fair.
