  1. Sasha Baron Cohen is a jew. The movie is a parody. The character he plays is an anti-semite to be laughed at. These are all indisputable facts that I can't believe you just don't get. You're even thicker than I thought.
  2. He's a jew. He's parodying anti-semites. Where's the nuance?
  3. You enlisted? Or you said "yeh team" from a safe distance?
  4. And how do you courageously stand up to them? Did you risk your life doing so?
  5. I don't think you get it. It's making fun of racist people, not condoning them.
  6. I assume you mean the "Royal We" because you're far too much of a coward to actually enlist.
  7. Where are there people marching in support of the Taliban in Canada? And YOU stood up to them? In person or from your anonymous postings online? But you're a chickenhawk who supports soldiers getting blown up so that Bush and Cheney can try and save face in a doomed war. What would you know about actually fighting?
  8. You mean they're not the same person?
  9. The only problem is that, under NAFTA, there's no turning back the clock. Once it's gone, it's gone.
  10. Bush has been going on all week about how his multilateral solution might still work. Someone needs to tell him it's too late.
  11. I put my year of birth right in my screen name, but I have a feeling no one cares.
  12. Or maybe it isn't some magic potion that will determine the future direction of your life at all. Maybe it's just a weed that gives you a buzz when you feel like it, and nothing else.
  13. I had a 21-year-old boyfriend when I was 15. There was no coercion involved and he was really sweet.
  14. Hicksey, you seem terribly confused. If you’re going to bring up a position to justify your own position (i.e., BM’s crack whore comment), you kind of have to agree with it yourself. Otherwise you’re compromising your own argument. And BTW, WTF does a crack whore taking responsibility for her own actions have to do with anything? You’re using fill-in-the-blank responses that don’t even fit the context of the debate.
  15. Most rapid transit systems are just glorified street cars or bus lanes. The problem with them is you can't put them in the middle of a populated neighbourhood without sacrificing its safety and character and/or their speed. I agree that subways, though expensive, are the only answer if you want a densely populated, human-oriented city. Downtowns with street level parking lots are like bombed-out wastelands with nowhere to go. Making more livable, walkable cities would do a lot to making Canadians less like fat cats.
  16. I think geoffrey is just mistakenly associating weed with alcohol when he assumes that its a burden on society. There are, like, no homeless people whose drug of choice is weed. It's all either alcohol or meth or crack or whatever. You'd be laughed off the street if you claimed you were homeless because of an addiction to pot.
  17. I don't get it. Are you saying Gene Krupa (jailed for over a year for marijuana possession) didn't have the best sense of time next to Keith Moon and Buddy Rich? Sorry. I just love drummers. Nice upper bodies on them.
  18. Until you get T-boned by a drunk driver.
  19. Preston Manning had the worst speaking voice I've ever heard, but he's dead now isn't he?
  20. I'm still waiting for the one-sided "educated debate."
  21. Just like how all the anti-gay folks are secretly gay, the family values people always have the worst skeletons to hide.
  22. You're making even less sense than usual.
  23. Uh, maybe because he's the Senate Majority Leader? You're supposed to do some book-learning before you take those jobs. I don't think it has anything to do with November, because Afghanistan is still a relatively popular undertaking. Now, if he said it was inevitable that Iraq would degenerate into civil war and that the U.S. occupation is doing more harm than good, then I would say he's trying to take a reasonable stance while November looms.
  24. It wasn't that long ago I was in Jr High. I never did that stuff but my boyfriend did but you could just buy it between classes. If we wanted to drink I'd have to steal it from my dad. Seems to me the laws the way they are just makes it easier for dealers to get in the door, get customers and then maybe sell them something that actaully hurts them like crystal meth.
