  1. Farris, the ideal world is what we are stiving for. One in which nobody has nuclear weapons. If you argue that a nuc in the solitary hands of OBL or Saddam is just as safe as the ones in silos in Montana with codes changing every twelve hours and counter checks upon counter checks then you are very wrong. Your point is valid if all nations were equal with equal responsible control applied. Unfortunately it is hardly realistic when applied to a theology that is suicidal by design or seeks total domination of the planet if unchecked. As for whoever made the US policemen I would think that the whole planet did. Nobody does anything substancial to help other nations except the US. Most of the world is made up of feudal and pre feudal nations whose only theology is retaliation, war, rape, pilage, enslave, hate. The US at least tries to help when it goes in to make a buck and make life better. That beats systematic genocide ala Milosevik, Palistininians, Saddam, OBL, and all other dictators back to Stalin. The UN stops nothing so glad we have the US. At least they try.
  2. Nobody knows everything. Nobody is so pure they are beyond reproach. I would go on to sum up some things that you, I and others have gone over at least three times; That is that first, the US trades with every body on the planet. If you know of one place they do not trade with let me know and I’ll say every place but ... Since a majority of the world is under dictatorship, monarchy, communism or some form of unstable government is it any wonder that they end up supporting/trading with/having diplomatic ties with some or all of these? The next point is that since so many of the left are quick to say how we take advantage of these poor nations it should make a leftist click his heels in glee if and when we fleece these dictators. Anyhow, given the amount of dictators we have to deal with is it any wonder that in such an unstable environment some turn bad? And who can predict ten, fifteen years in advance which ones will and which ones will not see the light and steer their gulag towards democracy? The US is like everybody else, in it for themselves. They are not in it to save humanity but to save themselves. Anything different then I would imagine the US electorate would find a new government in pretty short order. I have no idea where this fallacy of how the US is responsible to save the planet comes from but you can rest assured that every bit of foreign aid or deal benefits the US either financially or in security. The choice the rest of us have is to take or not take the deal. If somebody is an idiot or starving they generally don’t cut such a good deal. If they don’t like it then they can always embrace democracy and reap the rewards but they don’t. Why? They love to control their people and enslave them. That is where true evil lies. Even then you will note that usually there is a form of aid thrown in to help them out with social programs, food aid and such.. One thing is for sure though, when they set a deal in motion it isn’t lip service, the cheque really is in the mail. On the other hand the UN is made up of the rest of us. Mostly third world Nations using it as a pick pocket’s festival with the first worlders being the mark. They talk and fax memos saying something should be done and may send a team to investigate but nothing much gets done. Slow? Most of the time not at all. I would say that the true evil on the planet is not the US but rather the UN. It’s policy has been revealed time after time, ineffectual handwringing with too little too late at best or complete apathy.
  3. In a worst case scenario a lot better than if the good guys do nothing.
  4. Hi Dipark, just conducting a Labor Day Poll. Would you say that you are left, extreme left or leaning somewhat towards the right?
  5. But what an orgasm! Rhonda, can't believe you responded to that. LOL Tommorow I think he'll be looking for the edit switch.
  6. I'd rather see Craig take the helm and run this country like a money making enterprise, then we could afford to be generous to those in need. You know, make decisions based on strength, not on what is fiscally the cheapest way out of a voter impasse. Justin Trudeau? Comon, who the hell is that? Democracy has no kings nor queens and if there was I'd rather have somebody born in a mine or a lumber yard than that 3rd generation aristocratic skier. To even suggest him is a sign of an unthinking cow than a legitimate. decisive voter. No wonder this country has lost it's fizzle. If we ran Hollywood, Rhett Butler would be played by Sidney Potier with Tara being an avalanche shrine in some Rocky Mountain valley. As for Mulrooney, thank you. To remember him is like bringing up "HE that cannot be named." It always makes me laugh that no matter how much of a loser Cretien is in moral and spinal errection ability there is always the devil, master if you will. Cretien, no matter how much of a low life, will always be an amatuer compared to him. Justin Trudeau. LOL. Time to leave I think, the kid that washes my machines has more ethics than that privilaged bastard ever had and you would have him your leader? Shows where your values are. Only millionaires need apply. The backbone of the country work six days a week, sorry you didn't get the memo but this guy and his ilk are not part of the backbone.
  7. Ned, I was in the PPCLI as well as 2 CDO and the CAR Recce Platoon. We were and are, one of the (if not the best) light Infantry units in the world, but, a far cry from SAS and Delta. I take it that you meant that we have the expertise across the board to train such a force within our conventional units. I agree. If I misread the intent of your post I appoligise and submit that our Infantry at present with time to train, money to purchase equipment and modes of support (helecopters, high capacity airlift and such) could probably within five years achieve a status close to the aforementioned. That said, to those who proposed turning our Forces into something like this it isn't as simple as all that. You don't have a military composed of Special Forces (SF) only. Like, you are going to send James Bond to direct traffic during a flood on an Indian reserve? SF need to keep an edge and constant training is required. That means they do not do peacekeeping, aid to the civil power or anything like that. Whoever is SF, write them off as regular army. IOWs, you still need the army. As well, SF are shock troops. They may be utilised to capture enemy or take ground but they do not act as prison guards nor guard airfields as a raison d'etre. They have to regroup and prepare for the next mission. There is no savings of manpower or money here. You still need the regular troops to engage in all the programes we still have.
  8. Lost, the answer is not to launch missiles or storm aircraft on foreign runways. It is prevention through having a military with world reach to counter problems before they start. Having a mobile strong military would counter every one of those scenarios without firing a shot. Seen any South American countries try to take over the Falklands lately? Nope, I think the point was proved in the 80s. Don't mess with Britain unless you got something on the go and a prize worth fighting for. My point was simple, I have no idea what prize an opportunistic country may find worth engaging in a conflict with us but rest assured, if they can avoid entanglement with a third party whatever we have is theirs because we cannot hold it against any weak Korean War era military on the planet.
  9. If your refusal is based on anythng other than the other's behavior then it is not allowed. Interesting though, you bring up something previously not seen by myself; descriminatory refusal to honor a business or employer because of his race or beliefs. Quite the can of worms for the racial warriors. Track down every passerby and haul their sorry butts into court for non purchases. **** Side note to the sue monkeys. Here is a perfect way to make big $$$$$. Wear an SS uniform complete with jackboots and a Nazi flag and walk into any jewish owned store, better yet a kosher restaurant. When refused service get it all on the eyeglass big bro cam and take 'em to Liberal court.
  10. Scenario #1 Islamic radical students overtake our embassy in Indonesia. One Canadian a day is killed until the US leaves Iraq. Uh, Australia? USA? Nope. Sorry folks, they are all part of APEC same as us. Have to get the US on our side here under "War on Terror." How embarrasing. Scenario #2 Air Canada airliner is impounded in Peru for not paying back wages to peasants working in a Canadian owned factory. Price tag $40 million. Pay up. Scenario #3 Japan decides to hunt whales within our territorial waters. When the boat is impounded it actively seeks out Canadian ships and impounds every one of our boats in and beyond it's territorial waters. US is inactive on this as we both belong to the same Pacific organisation. Get some diplomats that speak good Japanese and give good head. Crawling on knees is an added atribute for this position too. Scenario #4 Troops spread thin all over the place and refineries start myseriously blowing up all over Alberta and the Atlantic. Find a navy that can be everywhere at the same time. Recall soldiers with freshly issued desert uniforms and send them to Wabasca Alberta in December (Winter clothes to follow on next deployment courtesy of US Supply Services.) Scenario #5 France opens up a full fledged fishing industry in St Pierre. Then decides to make their own 100 mile territorial claim. They station troops and build a military base to get the message across. Protest to the UN. Annon sends his condemnation and by the time it gets sorted out the Grand Banks are empty. Scenario #6 Canada gets a bad name with some tiny bannana republic and finds it's ships boarded and confiscated crew labelled as spies. Send a Liberal MP to see if they are mistreated (writes report on the aircraft on the way there. Answer is no evidence.) Go to UN, a year later new dictatorship says old dictatorship was wrong but cannot find ships or crew. Oh well. Scenario #7 2,000 troops in Afganistan find themselves fighting for their lives as the Afgan government is overtaken by warlords or whatever. No foreigner is safe. They have to be evacuated under fire. Airport unusable for fixed wing aircraft and other countries are too busy pulling their own out to help ours. Heavy reinforcements are needed immediately otherwise it will be a bloodbath. Parliament is a bee hive of activity as the candles burn the midnight oil. Who will choose the panel on the inquires?. Who will study the need to study the need for a study on what happened and why there was no helecopters to evacuate the soldiers? Scenario #8 Terrorists infiltrate and mass on the border in Canada. Crossing pell mell to strike America they manage to simutaniously attack a school in Buffalo, Detroit, Syracuse, Albany, Chicago and kill over 700 children. They have all come from Canada. America, pissed says shut them down or we will come and do it. Nonplussed Cretien says he has everything under control. LOL he doesn't even talk the talk and stays on his vacation in BC. Two days later fifty thousand US troops cross various border points to enforce the war on terrorism. Now we have a foreign uninvited power ruling our streets. Civilians are outraged and fight a bit. But the US flag is flying over every armored carrier. The military is gone overseas, the RCMP are no match and we look so cool in the world's eyes. Flacid but Liberal. Cretien goes to the UN and gives Annon a manual while he speaks the oral telling him how he knew everything was under control and if the Americans had waited he would have arrested every one of those "radicaly persecuted unshaven gentlemen" but Bush over reacted. Scenario #9 Quebec begins talks with Washington. Washington says niether ya nor nay. New York, Vermont and some other states say an enthusiastic, yet unofficial YA! Quebec says see ya. Ottawa says no. Quebec says bye and goes somewhat fiscally messily but goes nonetheless. Quebec becomes the newest country in the world with a blue fleur de lis within a red star whith blue and red stripes as it's flag. Washington officially disproves yet let's it be known it has troops ready to defend her. Any action by Ottawa and the five remaining soldiers and seventy generals is met by a 100:1 military response. ????? Scenario #10 Dictators, despots, radicals, terrorist, opportunistic 1st world countries see what a good door mat we are and shove and jostle us every way they can. A threat over fishing rights gets a vote at the UN on a loan, landing rights gets a bag of wheat, an imprisoned Canadian gets trade concessions. Soon no miitary = no say in what happens. But we are nuetral. My, they learn so so fast. And nuetrality, a broker for peace. A world shaker just like the Swiss. Our vision for Canada, to be Swiss. Kuckoo Kuckoo An army in this day and age? Haw! Only need a couple guys with a ray gun and a laptop to write reports. This is the 21st century man! Catch the wave, Daddy O. Papa Annon takes care of all.
  11. You people are looking for a reason or a rational for the military cuts. Trying to see what the Liberal definition of National Defence in the 21st century is but there isn't one. I said in another thread that the Liberal party is a form of dictatorship and it is. The 200 million dollars they cut from the military was not based on anything other than the need to buy a vote somewhere. They know they long ago lost the votes of those who would have a strong military. They also know they have wasted money all over the place and it is running out, the pyramid scheme is crumbling. They are in a last minute ditch effort to buy some blind gay guy's terrorist bride a hair dressing salon somewhere to get some minority vote and have milked all the other normal sources. May as well go back to 'ol reliable to get the money they need to prop up their little special interest vote buying scheme. They have to, they know without these little perks they could lose the next election.
  12. Dissagree with you on that Riff but at the time of 911 I think Iraq had nothing to do with them or the event. That said they are pulling the reverse of what Saddam was doing. He was trying to show the Arab world he could not be intimitdated and lost. Now they answer the call of opportunity and flock to Iraq to do the same thing. Down but not out. Few dirty wanna bees? Don't know, but they'll be dead or in jail just the same. Rhetoric and car bombs will have their day and in a couple years those Iraqi guys will come around.Maybe get a good hockey team together. Not much else to do while the sandstorm season is on except practice. Hockey Night in Canada, Montreal Canadians vs the Basra Bombers.
  13. My time to me is worth $30 an hour. That is the amount I have set to put a value on my leisure time. When I am called from work to take my daughter to a doctor or clinic and have to wait hours to see somebody I am annoyed. Why can I not just pay extra to get prefferential treatment? They call it two tiered health care but why is that like so evil, like "naming HE, that cannot be named?" Everything I do is two tiered, everything you do is two tiered. You tip a waitress for good service. Hmmmm. Like if you didn't, next time you show up you might not get the "upper tier " service of the two tiered service establishment. My mechanic doesn't want to work on one of my trucks on a sunday. I offer him a $50 bonus for comming in. Did I hurt anyone? No, but I got service and - guess what? On monday some poor shmuck that doesn't have $50 will not have to wait for me to get my stuff done. Privatize it. Health care is too expensive and necessary to leave in the hands of a government that loses FIVE BILLION DOLLARS and never accounts for it. Lord, we could have sent up our own space shuttle for that, not just a mechanical arm that the world calls the "space arm" not the "Canada Arm." (BTW, the fCanadian flag sticker is one inch by two, the photos make it look big.) What the hell. I don't think there will be much of a choice in a few years anyhow. So much money is being wasted and if I'm wrong then I'll live for next to nothing in a government retreat somewhere but if I'm right then I'm glad I'm in my own business and don't have to rely on social security. The rest of you keep on writing those subsidized blonde joke books. Good reading in the waiting rooms. Oh, vote Liberal too. Otherwise Cretien won't have the pull to get his stuff done in the States like he always does.
  14. And if one examines the benign ones, one will find a very short list. A good theory but forgetful of the fact that the US influences the entire planet. Not one country does not desire US goods or services so therefore must deal with them in trade or exchange of ideas. Bin Laden used American computors, Saddam bought American automobiles. Bad USA, bad. Better the French way. They come in and instead of building a factory to employ people they enslave them on plantations. Not so noticable because it is low tech. Ah well, they can be pious now, they got thrown out a long time ago. Dealing with the devil because the rest just don't cut it. Makes you mad, doesn't it?
  15. I had a good, hard look. Seems we are not letting them kill us easy enough. Oh well. Now that the introspective, soul searching and theory of "Victim 101" is done and all, can we go back to eliminating those who would see our children die? Unless of course self preservation is to be overlooked in this metamorphic world of meaningless violence perpetrated against the west. All by those who do everything they can to fail their people, keep them hungry, disease ridden and without hope so that they can point a finger at us, those who time after time extend the hand of plenty.
  16. I don't believe in a gay gene or anything. I look at it as sexual preference. Like some guys like fat chicks and are turned off by sknny ones. Vice versa, I couldn't perform with an ugly girl so think I'd ever think of getting married to one? Trying to figure out why and at what point is like trying to ask the old "did you hate your mother/father" question to a guy just trying to get some oral sex because he just doesn't get off on manual. Does it really matter? They're gueer and they're here! Ooops, sounds like it's time to throw a few hundred mill into it on a government study.
  17. I agree, they deserve each other. I also think that we had better get smart, fast, and get with the Americans. We live in North America, not Europe.
  18. Craig, I was thinking the other day about your post. From one private businessman to another do you think that Liberals are more or less inclined to be entrepreneurs? A further query; do you think that Liberals are negative towards the unknown, something to be guarded against or more postive, viewing it as an opportunity?
  19. Man do we have potential! It is so unbelievable how much we have. Oooops, better get a government sponsored study done on how much potential we have so that we can study how to best get the proper government department to head it. High speed internet for every igloo!
  20. Isn't it just like the Liberals to try to force a process like "survival of the fittest" and "build a better mousetrap" into their fairy tale - "The Little Government That Could." Don't think of common sense, don't think economics or geo politics. Just think we can and it will happen. I remember somebody was trying to make Winnipeg the hub of North America once. The theory was that it was the center of North America. Forgetting of course that socially it is virtually at the North Pole and travellers might fall off the edge. They also forgot that Minniappolis serves the continent well for that purpose. Should name some new place like Red Earth Alberta's airport for him. Everything he would destroy, yet something that will bring the country economic life despite what he tried to do.
  21. Hey I'm all for it. And to continue with his legacy we can watch the Aircraft crash while they desparately try and figure out mills from degrees and kilometers from nautical miles once they reach airspace near it.
  22. Our recent National Museum dedicated to politicions should speak for itself. Guess we don't do many earth shaking things up here. I suppose a statue for those brave PPCLI that had no way out but to fight in the Medak Pocket is beyond budgetary means. Also, peacekeeping is a really good way of making the Canadian people think we have globe reaching influence. The numbers and money we involve in this noble endeavor are less than many third world nations put forth. It's embarrasing. And does anybody know it? Couple days ago there was a small garage sale notice sized item in USA today about Canadians in Afganistan. Going back a few years to Somalia. Our "National Embarassment" I asked some American Paratrooper friends what they thought and they had never heard of it. My gosh, everybody on the planet is holding their breath waiting to see what we will do next. Tanks, air transport and ability to fight and defend your interests halfway across the world costs money and gets you respect. Blue berets, small arms ammo and cool new uniforms keeps the sheeple thinking they have it.
  23. OK, maybe I was working on too big a scale when I said there would need to be a UN approved forced economic/social attack on Africa nation by nation. How about trying it on a smaller scale. Sectioning. Move in and force change backed by military forllowed by economic, commercial, aid and social programs. Once proved in a few places it could be a reality. Sounds so draconian but starvation, dispair, and disease is the alternative. Unless of course the world tries to send in it's Lenins and whatever to slowely make change. By that time it'll be a mute problem. Old ways die hard and these people have been old a long time.
  24. KK The whole Arab world knows we are out to take terrorism on. The usual lip service does not work anymore and we take out those that work against us. Seen many attacks on US soil lately? None. Better law enforcement techniques? No, more like letting them know we will kick them where it hurts. Right now there is even more rhetoric from leftists like yourself than militants but keep it up, even poor murdering fundamentalists need a shoulder to cry on while they try to kill your child on CNN. KK A simple matter to stoke that unease into resentment and on to hatred is kind of like terrorism is it not? We get along and trade quite nicely with the rest of the world. Those who aid and abet terrorists are now considered terrorists. If it is a simple matter to stoke that unease into hatred then those who aid and abet terrorists have to take a side. My side is survival, yours is a drop cloth for your wife and a clitporization for your daughter? It's all or nothing for these bearded guys you infidel. Black Dog KK And you of course have been hounding Yasser, Kadaffy, Hezbolah, Hamas, Shining Path, the IRA about all their actions as well I imagine. Of course not, because they are terrorists and you don't blame them for anything. We are a population whose pillars are built on compassion, aid, commerce and productivity, they in turn have built a world around self denial, pain, starvation, blame of others and excuses. The leaders seek a common enemy and would be angry if we handed them Norwiegian Line cruise tickets for God’s sake. It is a mind set geared for power amongst their peers not a political process and you think it’s a “Pro Life/Choice, Save the Whales statement. A million OBLs = a million bullets or 20 million feet of good 5/16 inch nylon rope. KK Hate to break this to you but wing night at the local bar beats greasy schwarmas cooked over camel dung with a little donkey urine thrown in for flavor any day. If they want to believe that God is God or God is a mule that’s OK too. I don’t care if they take all the money we give them for oil and buy “Saddam We Love You” T shirts but screw with my safety or way of life then I back my team. You want to root for them go ahead but don’t ever try to tell me that we short changed them. Every opportunity for a good life and freedom was given these people. OBL used our money against us, the UN and his own. He subsequently set the Arab world back decades. Did you for a moment lay any blame at his feet? No. Do you blame him for his involvement in Somalia when the US was trying to allow the movement of aid to feed starving people? No. Do you understand that his war with America is not about anything else other than him wanting to be "the main man?" Hitler used the Jews and OBL uses the USA. And your ilk fall for it.
  25. Yes, Craig you hit it on the head. Not simply military but western society as a team. Not a limp wristed effort by a single nation or the UN but rather a profit generating mega corporation approved by a world body of some sort. A whole campaign, sponsered by one country acting as a contractor for the world's willing to take on Africa one country at a time. Move in with everything as a shock force of overwhelming military, economic, political and social reform all worked out in board rooms well in advance. As I said, strange and ludicrus but so is genocide. The other suggestions were democracy, capitalism, communism and whatever. Like export it and let me know how far past the dock it gets.
