Tell that to David Murdoch...

Two things: 1) Had the man in the elevator kicked a pig, it would have been equally unethical, no matter whether he was taking the pig to lunch or not. 2) Seeing as sterilizing someone against their will is basically considered a crime against humanity related to genocide, I really advise against kicking someone with the intention they not be able to reproduce afterwards. Like, really strong advise, morally.

It is Immoral to not abort a Downs Syndrome Foetus?
Remiel replied to Argus's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
For a woman carrying a fetus that has Down's syndrome it is not inherently immoral to choose to abort based on that consideration. But "consideration" here is the key word. To propose a rule, especially pretending it is a moral rule, such that "Down's syndrome fetuses must be aborted" is actually horrendously immoral. It is vicious. -
Since racism is not actually an ideological necessity for nationalism or fascism, I do not see how being racist makes you more nationalist than the nationalists. There is a reason why we have a differentiated expression: ethnic nationalism.

I jumped ahead a few pages to comment, so I apologize if someone already made this point: historically lynch mobs and vigilantes have a really awful track record of getting things wrong. In an alternate universe where only people who actually committed death-sentence severity crimes were lynched, or hard time worthy crimes were beaten up a la comics, lynching and vigilantism would have a miraculously improved reputation compared to our universe. Even then I am sure it might be intellectually distasteful, but not viscerally so like here. In this particularly case, I find the eye witness testimony of Mr. Elevator Camera to be beyond reproach. A puppy was kicked. Case closed.

Can someone explain the Discovery Method?

Did anyone here have to use a dictionary to compile their post? -
It should be illegal to train children in the use of weapons primarily developed with military combat in mind. Everywhere. On Earth.

If Harper were concerned about "winning" the situation, then from what justification to his moronic statements that are not dependent on the efficacy of an inquiry come from?

Not a big fan. What I wholeheartedly despise though is the PR: Death With Dignity. Eff that. I could not give a God damn about dignity. If you really hurt so bad you have to kill yourself we do not need to dress is up with platitudes to make it sound like a better situation than it is.

Do you now need us to explain the very simple concept of "implication" to you?

Where did I say anything about radical feminists?

If only men's rights activists were really about protecting men's rights and not about harassing women online. And no amount of describing what can be seen is going to convince someone who is willfully blind to the facts.

Way to be ignorant of how the Internet really works.
-
The thing that Den Tandt fails to take into consideration, and which I have seen discussed elsewhere, is that many of the most virulent hate- and fear-mongers on the Internet are not anonymous. Mens rights activists and white supremacists tend to me more than happy to use their real names when they are attacking, defaming, and sometimes threatening others. Women on the Internet absolute need to have some measure of anonymity to retreat to because anyone who pays any attention at all knows the level of oppression they face for voicing their views on many topics. Also, to address a point from earlier: Stephen Harper is not polite. He is just good at hiding his smugness with intentional blandness and monotone. There is no such thing as politely making a mockery of answering questions.

Multiculturalism in Canada - Does it Unite or Divide?
Remiel replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Not a big fan of how the police conduct themselves as far as that goes, but I really do not think you can project the politicization of FN policing to other peoples. They just do not have all the same issues. -
Socialist Trudeau Gets Religion on Private Property Rights
Remiel replied to jbg's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The OP gave me a serious "WTF?" moment. Break & Enter is not even like other crimes per se. If it were based on Trespassing on Private Property, the crime would be setting foot on the lot. If it were theft, it would be removing something. But the Break & Enter itself is only tangentially, at best, based on the ownership of the door or window. -

Are you referring to Caledonia or something else? -
I may have missed it, but where is the violence threatened against officials children?

Naheed Nenshi is the most well liked mayor in Canada. What you are insinuating is atrocious and libelous. -
What is this, the communitarian theory of animal cruelty? Now it is not enough to be cruel to individual animals, we can be cruel to their collectives as well? You cannot make a case that being pure bred is animal cruelty without making the case that the animal in question would be better off not existing. You cannot make the case that it would be better for them not to exist without applying the same standard of pain and suffering to all living creatures. And once you apply that standard to all living creatures then it turns out the only "moral" thing to do would be to annihilate all life on Earth. Or, in other words, poppycock.

Has there been a renewed push for a mysterious "three state solution" while we were not looking?

I saw a report today that something like $800k of that was due to the chief taking on, in addition to his own, the job of some outsider and their employment contract, Still makes you wonder what they Hell a band as tiny as that was paying some outsider $800,000+ for...

No, according to you their children also deserve to die because you are saying Israel has no moral responsibility for innocents dying in Gaza. Responsibility is not just a thing, it is an attitude, and the flippant dismissal of even the idea that Israel has any moral responsibility for their actions completely flies in the face of that. In fact, if we go by the "actions speak louder than words" standard, the IDF agrees with me completely. That is why they take reasonable measures to avoid civilian casualties. You are saying that they are wasting their time, and lives, because they have no moral responsibility for what happens there. Do you also subscribe to the idea of "acceptable genocide" , as was briefly floated today?

Canada's synagogue? -
Horseshit. Do you even know what responsibility is? That kind of rule can only apply when the people being defended against are the only ones being killed.
