  1. Actually you aren't making any sense. You called Harper a wimp. From the rules of the forum. Harper is a wimp = a direct insult of our Prime Minister. Wimp = derogatory term. Just because you haven't been subjected to the rules yet that doesn't mean it will never happen.
  2. You really are odious. The difference between a PMO list of who can ask questions at a press conference and in a media scrum isn't readily apparent. And in reality so minute as to show how obstinate your behaviour is. Obtuse and trying to change the point. Typical behaviour. Add nothing to the debate. Good on you Gerry. I'll give you credit for staying true to form.
  3. The Liberals did use government money to conduct polls. It is a justified use of government money to try and gauge public opinion before implementing a major policy. It just shows how much the Harper haters are grasping at straws in trying to tear down the govenment. Are you saying that you took offence to everytime the Liberals paid pollsters to gauge public opinion when the pollster actually did the work they paid for?
  4. What is the difference? You haven't made it at all You accuse me of crying and whining about personal attacks? You really don't get it Gerry...
  5. Press conferences are more organized and formal. Don't really get Gerry's point about a bigger difference than that. But then again he was probably just being contrary for the sake of it.
  6. There have been dozens of examples of Gerry's ignorance on this board. Why wouldn't you just admit that Gerry's behaviour is indefensible?
  7. Let's look at the differences in *screw-ups*. The Conservatives polled people to see if they agreed with the five priorities and used that information to plan the actual implementation. Some Conservatives supported the use of the money in question to as a legitimate use of taxpayer money. In the sponsorship program a judge found that the Liberals divereted over $1.1 million of government money for work which was NEVER performed. There is a difference...
  8. Again pedantic and annoying in the response. The link didn't provide the support it was purported to. In response the poster says, maybe you should look it up. With such intellectually obtuse opposition it is pretty obvious why the Conservatives will form government again after the next election.
  9. Exactly sharkman. The last two posts added nothing to this thread, so I'll take the time to congratulate you for your post.
  10. What is your point Gerry? Would it be ok by you if Harper went back to scrums and only answered questions from reporters who signed up for the list then?
  11. You attacked Harper as being a wimp. You didn't attack his actions. You attacked him personally and directly. tsk tsk Gerry follow the rules...
  12. Gerry just told me to "grow the F**k up. Hw does this fit into your concept of fairness and justice?
  13. Never admitted I was a troll, where did that come from? You have gone on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. That is the issue people have taken with you. Your articles don't even come close to proving the point you think they do. I am only employed for Harper *in some capacity* if you truly believe that every corporation in the company is in the employ of the Conservative Party of Canada. Don't swear at me jerk. Totally uncalled for.
  14. But Gerry posted that quote about the Globe. So the issue is settled. Or you are not debating in good faith.
  15. Bravo Gerry! Your attempt at debating the issue lasted one post. We are making progress, maybe the next time can be two posts.... Yes we are Sharkman. Yes we are.
  16. It's not really ok to bash either. This should be a forum for debating political issues. There are a set of rules of behaviour on this forum. Gerry ignores all of them. He isn't here to debate, he is just here to attack Harper and his supporters. Gerry is condescending and rude to any opposing viewpoints. Should I start a thread of all comments in which Gerry calls the actions of Stephen Harper or people on this board idiotic, moronic or foolish? Gerry used to defend those actions as attacks of *behaviour* rather than personal attacks. Now that he knows he isn't subject to the rules of the forum his just ignores them. Those statements are all inappropriate and lower the tone of the board. Would you like me to link to all of Gerry's attacks on behaviour?
  17. Could it also help the Greens in their hopes of replacing the NDP as the voice of the left?
  18. Ahhh, but Martin did do that. See the Paul Wells link I posted earlier. Chretien like Wells and let him ask questions often. Martin didn't and never let him ask questions. That's the way it is and the way it has always been. Why is it such a big deal now that the Conservatives are in government?
  19. Hmmm, weren't you recently chastising me for being a newcomer to the board? Can't really expect me to account for behaviour when I wasn't here...
  20. As of 2003 Afghanistan didn't produce *ANY* oil. (source) Couldn't find any more up to date information, but come on how much could have changed in 2 1/2 years? When people make arguments that have *zero* foundation in reality it's tough to take them seriously.
  21. Good point. I'm no real fan of the Official Languages Act. But intelligence is an area that does require competence in languages. If somebody wanted to use this case about their issues with the OLA they could say that the money spent on languages should be targetted to areas where it is truly required, like CSIS.
  22. Thank you Michael. Now to address Gerry's change of topic. The patient wait-times guarantee hasn't been dropped just because it hasn't been accomplished yet.
  23. That's right. I remember that thread. I have no clue about Borden. Guess that's my bad...
  24. So they have agreed to Harper's demands for *thirty days* is the difference? Seems like pedantic hair-splitting. The reality of the matter is there will now be a list of reporters to ask questions at the Prime Minister's press conferences. Will it last for more than 30 days? Remains to be seen, but I would guess so. It will be very tough for the press gallery to make a case for not signing onto the list 30 days from now. Instead of focusing on the minutiae, what do you think will happen 30 days from now?
  25. OK, let's start with the duplicitious thread title. It was government policy not CPC policy they were asking about. Do you understand the nuanced difference? The five priorities have been the focus of the Government in their eight months in power. They wanted to see how people felt about them and made tweaks as necesary after finding out public opinon on them. Shouldn't the government actually try and implement policies that are as a close a fit to what the public wants as practicable?
