  1. Perhaps I should have been more clear, but the folks on the bottom of the pile are already accountable and responsible, they get to live with the consequences of their decisions. What I was suggesting is that we need to have one set of policies for governments that apply to all citizens at the same time. As it currently stands we have allowed a system or class structure to permeate our policy framework. What I meant to say was that we should apply the same standards to us all.
  2. Perhaps it is time to form a new political party. One in which fiscal responsibility and social justice are the paramount concerns of the party. The justice system keeps letting criminals out of jail and the governments keep spending more than they have. It is time to reduce bureaucracy and eliminate much of the public sector upper echelons. It is time to start making folks accountable and responsible, from the lowest citizen to the highest elected official.
  3. The reality is that the two nations will never see eye to eye. The fact is that Hamas is a terrorist group and they deserve little more than death. Let them live by the sword and let them die by the sword.
  4. Keep praying, why don't you hold your breath while you are at it. The true church? What arrogance! Have your pervert priests join the sex offender lists first, then I will consider returning. Utter drivel. You are a pompous and delusional fool. Your arrogance is exceeded only by your ignorance.
  5. Now you think you can call me a non-believer. Now that is very interesting, in as much as I was raised an RC and am currently an evangelical type of Christian. There is a little non-denominational church in the town near where I live. One of my best friend was the Pastor there. Christ gave us many things but a new set of rules simply wasn't one of them. He was the personification of all those that came before him. His miracles were repetitions of things already done for the most part. He was the embodiment of all predictions from the old testament, he fulfilled the promises made. He was tolerant as well. In fact he was a socialist in the truest terms. But you don't seem to understand much about your faith at all, so I don't expect you to agree. The "Holy Mother" church harbors child molestors and calls its leader the "Holy Father". Last time I checked that title was reserved for the Lord, not an elected official of a church whose net worth was collected from the hands of the giving to be horded in the Vatican Bank instead of being delivered to the poor. Your hypocrisy is beyond even my contempt, and I am a very tolerant man normally. As to your assertion that I fear you or you perverted religious nature because of you size, well just bring it on my friend. Oh yes I will be very polite, that is my nature. I myself am only six feet two inches tall and weigh only 207 pounds. I have no idea how big you are, if its fat or muscle, it just doesn't matter to me. The bigger they are the harder they fall, and fall you will. I have already told you where I am, Alberta. Close enough to Edmonton that I can and do drive to work there, now just where exactly are you and when can I expect to see you?
  6. Rage? I will give you outrage.... You Sir, are a moronic fool who speaks without knowledge. You seek to insult me and utilize religion as a weapon against me, suggesting moral superiority and ethical correctness. My father was born in 1921, he fought in the second world war and served his entire working life in the service of his country, enlisted in the RCAF in 1940 and retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1975. My mother was born in 1926, she served in the RCAF here in Edmonton repairing aircraft. They knew each other before the war but did not marry until 1946, they lived together for the rest of my fathers life. He died in 1999 and my mother soon followed in 2002. They were members of their Roman Catholic Church in Sydney British Columbia when they died. They attended mass twice a week and had done that for decades whenever the were lucky enough to be together. This "simple minded" person did not start this attack, but by the Lord God I shall finish it. Let me tell you who I am. I am in fact a very simple man. I was born in 1959 when my father was based in Winnipeg. We moved to Edmonton in 1960, then to Trenton in 1964. We finally moved back to Edmonton in 1970. I went to kindergarten in 1965 in Ontario and finished grade 6 in 1970. I finished high school in 1976 in Alberta. I have had a part-time/ full time job since 1970 when we moved back to Edmonton. I worked at Kroehler Furniture for four years when I got out od school, then I hired on to Canadian National Railways in 1980. I still work at CN. I have held both union and management positions. I have made lots of money with this company and plan on retiring in another 5 years or so. I am twice married and once divorced. I had two children in my first marriage, which ended with my discovery of my wifes infidelity. I have had to pay 1200 dollars a month since 1991 to her, 500 per child and 200 for her. She remarried, her husband refuse to adopt the children so I got to pay the way. I have three more children in my current marriage. That is a little track record of life for you MISTER CANADA, this is where I am coming from, but it certainly is not all that I am. I enjoy spirited debate, and I despise those who speak down to me or treat me with disrespect. If you were here in my town, you could expect to hear form me in person to address the slur on my father and mother. I would enjoy teaching you a lesson. Have an nice day.....
  7. Abortion is legal, murder isn't. I am pro-choice so I guess I should have seen your poorly veiled attack, but I did not. You speaks as if it is I that have written and agree with these laws, I did not and do not agree with much of this foolish legislation. What is hilarious is religious fanatics who claim some sort of moral authority. They are the same wingnuts that have brought us situational ethics and affirmative action. Clowns is what I usually refer to them as. What I have done Mr.Canada is truthfully answered your questions to the best of my ability. For this effort you reward me with attacks on my person and attempt to put words in my mouth. Is that your intent? Or are you merely angry and foolish enough to lashout at everyone who has opposing views to you?
  8. I am not a fan of his. He has lied and gone from surplus to deficit.
  9. To be like Christ you have much work before you. You are very closed minded in your approaches. You seek to mix politics and religion. You are very judgmental, and all of these things are not very "Christian".
  10. Where is Palestine? Isn't it the Arabs who deny the existence of Israel? Haven't they said the country has no right to exist? Are the Jews not persecuted enough?
  11. Apparently not? No idea, I didn't write the law. Oh yes I would. Try to keep in mind that legal definitions are already in place, and that the entire subject is based on emotional debate not legal fact.
  12. Who knows who will get voted in? Perhaps a new party will rise to power, that is the historical truth anyway. Once we decide to get rid of a government we look for something different. There is one new party, The Wildrose Alliance Party, which comes to mind but time will tell.
  13. Eliminate terrorists, there is a war on them now. Perhaps a bounty would help? Hiding as they do, collateral damage is a fact of life. Perhaps they should accept the reality of the events, and simply leave Gaza and immigrate to Egypt?
  14. There will be no peace in the middle east. Unless of course there are no more Palestinians.
  15. It starts with a successful birth. Until then "it" is a fetus.
  16. Alberta is used to governments that last decades, we like political stability. The PC government here is on its last legs, maybe one or two terms left at the outside a decade and it will disappear the way the Socreds did.
  17. Then the consumer needs to realize an increase in disposable income. The easy way to do that s with targeted tax breaks, and government can do that very easily.
  18. All governments steal citizens dollars through taxation. This one seems to be giving some dollars directly to a failing corporation or two.
  19. When he left Canada, he went to work for Hawker-Sidley and headed up the design team for a project that was ultimately chosen as the design for the Concorde. For his work on supersonic transport design he was awarded the Royal Aeronautical Society's George Taylor Gold Medal in 1962. He was working for the British government as a consultant for the actual build process. Now to your point that Canada never designed a main battle tank, I never said we did. I said that we lost the brain trust for our engineering efforts with the demise of the Arrow.
  20. Sadly, the comedy continues when the bleeding hearts club suggests that fire is a safety hazard and it is everyone's fault for letting it burn. There are a lot of folks who do not subscribe to the right of existence for Israel. There could be much trouble over this conflict. and this certainly won't be an end to the troubles. Even when Gaza is rubble being piled int the sea, there is and was the issues of the West Bank. In my opinion Israel should finish what it starts in Gaza, then move to resolve the problems with the West Bank in the same fashion. There is no other way to stop the terrorism, than to eliminate the terrorists. To be civilized, they should offer them a way out first, let a specified period of time elapse, before they act.
  21. I will venture a few predictions. 1) Iggy lets Harper take a fall for the economy 2) Harper's government will fall because of the economy 3) The Coalition will become a reality in a fall election, there will be two choices only across the ballot, Steve or no Steve 4) Layton becomes a cabinet member 5) Dodge closes its doors 6) Ontario becomes a welfare state 7) BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan become the only "have" provinces. 8) Quebec privatizes Hydro Quebec to prevent filing for bankruptcy 9) Newfoundland goes back on the dole. 10) Manitoba moves very close to a "have" status when drilling begins this summer.
  22. Can you expand on this and provide some factual references?
  23. Perhaps a proper solution can only be found in a multiple approach to the problem. First of all education, that would include not merely sexual education but the social impact and personal responsibility education that goes along with the adult decision to have sexual relations. This will not stop unwanted pregnancies, but it would act as an eye opener to the implications of conducting sexual relations. I would suggest that this needs to be done, and quickly. It needs to be incorporated into our educational system immediately. Secondly the laws should be changed to reflect responsibility, ultimately the woman is in control and has the responsibility. Birth control is vested in the woman's decision to have sex, period. Yes men can were condoms, and women can use birth control, but no sex equates to no pregnancy. Knowing this our views need to change. The social impact of unwanted pregnancies is horrific. To this end I would suggest that abortions must remain within the framework of a decision making process available to women. A woman who chooses instead to bear a child without the consent of the male sexual partner must carry the burden of responsibility for that decision with all the impact both financial and physical the decision encompasses.
  24. Devolving federal powers to the provinces sounds like a fine idea to me.
