  1. Wrong, the Feds already sunk the cost in getting that registry. Quebec wants the Feds info for free at the expense of taxpayers everywhere else. If Quebec wants a registry they can pay for it themselves and leave the ROC out of it.
  2. I didn't think that positive 1.1 GDP growth was falling. Especially from a country that blew it's cash bailing out all the banks.
  3. They are a lot closer than Portugal, greece, and perhaps Italy. They already drank their buckley's. My link
  4. CNN still had that article up... Oh and your getting involved with nitpicking with map and page of time. Still calling for a wipeout...
  5. Dd you not read the article about the gilded age? That created wealth for all of society and we became richer. The 1% are using their wealth to invest at times when others can't and that's a bad thing? Investing in companies and getting a return on it isn't creating value? The income gap is wide because of the 1% being smart with their money. That's it, no conspiracies or screw jobs, or whatever fantasy you have. If a population bulge fuels economic growth, then the USA should make birth control prohibitively expensive so that we get another population boom right? Unfortunately it doesn't work that way and one only needs to look at Africa for that.
  6. From wiki. I think Penn state engaged in particularly egregious misconduct.
  7. Im not talking about the NCAA getting involved on the legal side. I'm talking about the side that has the black eye and being taken to the woodshed by the NCAA. I think if a college wants to hire guys like that and defend them, the NCAA should take it's own action on top of the action the authorities are taking.
  8. The players at sum The players at SMU did not suffer, they went to other colleges. And the death penalty didn't stop it in mid season, it affected the next season. SMU was an elite program in texas football country. They put the brakes on one goose. The players won't get tossed on the street.
  9. So those seals sneaking into Pakistan to kill bin laden without Pakistani permission didn't happen? And those predator drones flying over Pakistan didn't happen. Then why was Pakistan in such a tizzy, shouldn't there nuke arsenal have deterred the USA from such action.
  10. Challenge met. Cnn
  11. In the cold war that was a real possibility and that goes for both sides, hence the arms build up.
  12. Nobody's screwing the provinces but themselves. I do want tax money saved, if programs are too expensive, maybe they shouldn't be implemented. Why should Ontario, Nfld, sask, Alberta, and bc pay for quebec's gun registry? So the fact that quebec is one of the most endebted jurisdictions in Canada is made up?
  13. The problem is that your letting the kids decide what should be on that list instead of mom and dad. In our society, kids pick mom and dad, not what goes on the list.
  14. Fact is, it's the Feds info to destroy if they want to. Fact is quebec is so far in debt they can't afford a registry. And fact is if the Quebec gov't wants to save tax money they can quit spending.
  15. Just like those occupiers are respecting other people's rights to security of person?
  16. And does Iran have influential people in other govt'ts calling for Iran to be wiped off the face of the earth?
  17. Well, there is the argument that the federal gov't giving info away on the current people in the registry is an invasion of their privacy rights. If Quebec is so keen on saving money, maybe they can't afford a gun registry.
  18. How many times was Israel invaded? Are irans neighbors going to invade Iran?
  19. You close it down to send a message to management that if you hire perverts, you will pay the ultimate price plus tax. Buckley's tastes bad but it works. And the death penalty isn't canceling the program. NCAA death penalty I think shady recruiting and paying players is less of a crime than what the guys at Penn state did.
  20. What, saving your money and spending/investing it wisely? That's not conditions for depression, thats conditions for growth. All this government intervention is causing these bubbles and popping of the bubbles. Whats irresponsible is people who don't know what they are talking about influencing gov't to enact policies that encourage unsustainable consumption funded by debt or gov't spending.
  21. No, for something like this, the NCAA death penalty would be very appropriate. It sends a clear message that if you screw around like this you run the risk of ruining your entire program. It's like the scene from full metal jacket where private pile has to watch his whole platoon do pushups in training while eating the jelly donut. It sends the signal that if you screw around someone else pays which would provide much incentive to have your crap together. The players won't be punished, other schools will snap them up. You really need to watch the pony excess espn 30 for 30.
  22. What, you would rather have a society full of tenant farmers? The numbers don't lie, society vastly improved with the gilded age and became richer.
  23. And the ctv article uses stats Canada info. Also in the media that is the metric they are talking about, move goalposts much. Heck they were mostly complaining about the rise in gaps of income on CNN.
