  1. Tory Brass is sitting pretty right now. Next election has enough ammo to sink the LPC, NDP, and Bloc. harper's tactics are working quite well, the canadian populace is in an uproar!
  2. He would have some explaining to do after supporting it in the first place.
  3. The GG wouldn't let an election go if Harper has confidence in the house. If those 10-15 Liberals stayed home, he technically has confidence. The only person harper could negotiate with is Ignatieff. This however would be a big gamble for Ignatieff and he would have lots of explaining to do.
  4. I am highly opinionated, but I am no seperatist. So the answer is no.
  5. according to my sources in the patch, oil company brass was not impressed with being gouged by unions and service companies and has authorized less projects to take place. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
  6. not in the least. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight!
  7. No, not cross the floor. I could see him make a public statement saying because of public opinion he can't support the coalition and would outright win the Liberal Leadership race. If he crossed the floor, he kisses his Leadership bit goodbye.
  8. If Harper and tory brass hadn't started beating the war drums and launched their media blitzkrieg, I'd probably agree with this possibility. Had Harper kept his trap shut and approached Ignatieff with this plan, I could see it working. But since Harper put his war helmet on, Harper would look like a fool and a hypocrite for entertaining this thought. It's been mentioned on here Ignatieff is secretly having a bird. He could screw the Liberal coalition over, and order x amount of Liberal MP's to catch "red fever" and be sick for the vote. Iggy would look real good to grass roots Liberals at the convention and would really screw Bob Rae and Leblanc over.
  9. And I look forward to the next election. And they say the tories had a hidden agenda... Those new attack ads are pretty slick if you ask me!
  10. Keep gouging those oil companies, there will be less and less projects, and more and more foreign labour brought in. You guys keep it up, you'll screw yourselves out of oil jobs just like the auto sector.
  11. The TV ads are already made! I like how they have the recording of Dion saying we will not form a coalition gov't!
  12. Do the majority of Canadians want a coalition government, that should be taken to the electorate. If that's what the majority of Canadians want, then why not have an election? Keep in mind that billions of dollars are about to be spent anyway on other things. If this coalition party can win an election, then the people have spoken and they should be allowed to govern.
  13. "This is a step to improve Quebec, this is a step to improve sovereignty" Hmm. they still want to break up the country. Their votes of confidence may count, the GG has a mess on her hands if she grants this coalition gov't power.
  14. If she doesn't grant an election either on Sept. 8th, or on the 26th/27th of January I wouldn't be surprised if Harper goes to the Queen about this. He has a good case. If I were Jean, I would be thinking about my job and my reputation.
  15. How about Dion's lie that he would never go into a coalition gov't during the election?
  16. Did you not watch MDL today, watch it on CTV.ca. They have Gilles Duceppe saying this is a big step forward for quebec and a big step for seperation. Hmm, a case for the queen if you ask me.
  17. The deal is that a big part of the house is hell bent on destroying Canada. That's his out. If it was the Liberals and NDP, Harper can only go to the GG and that's it. Having the bloc in this mix, gives him justification to go over the GG's head (then there is the GG's alledged issue with seperatists). Harper would definetely be creating a constitutional crisis, but he's got a case to take to the court of public opinion.
  18. The PM might have to appeal to the Queen to dismiss the GG. Judging by what's going on, that is a real possibility. He's boxing in the GG.
  19. That's a risk Harper might take if he goes straight to the queen. Unprecedented times call for unprecedented action. The Liberals popularity will plummet because this action shows how desperae they are to gain power. Harper has a free pass to prorogue parliament, call an election, and possibly go to the queen. The number was floated around. So it isn't 30 billion, do the Liberals plan on spending more? Go to the CTV.ca website, there are a lot of Canadians posting there that are furious at them.
  20. The fact you have a computer and access to the internet is an indirect result of greed. Without "greed" there would have been no incentive to invent that computer and internet.
  21. He has fingers and a telephone and good reason.
  22. Hence the constitutional crisis. What's to stop him going straight to the queen if Jean doesn't play ball? We are subjects of the Queen aren't we? It'll be less than the 30 billion proposed by the coalition. I'm pretty sure the tories will do well next time around. Canadians are livid. Lets find out how livid they are, bring on the election!!!
  23. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a constitutional crisis. Everything that has happened so far is unprecedented, going to the Queen IMO is a realistic option considering Jean's credentials. You and I both know Harper will pull out every tool out of the box, one tool might be a call to buckingham palace. All my posts considering this are "sit back and watch the car wreck attitude", I know Harper will try and prorogue parliament, release attack ads, and put pressure on the GG to go to an election after his throne speech/budget is defeated. I know the tories will do very well in the next election, they have plenty of ammunition stockpiled. What me worry?
  24. Except the GG to play ball with the PM or Harper makes a call to Buckingham Palace.
  25. What's wrong with going straight to the monarch? It's perfectly legal. Like I say if your not getting good service from an employee, go straight to the manager. The rest of your post is suggesting your listening to the preverbial toaster.
