  1. Here's a better idea, how about no carbon credit trading scheme. And we let the price of oil dictate how much we use. Nothing like 147 dollar oil to get SUV's off the road in a hurry. As for complaining about companies moving in the case of fines, wouldn't they be wanting to move if their bottom lines were being attacked by some complicated trading scheme.
  2. are their stuff well thought out, or is it all Mr. Canada level stuff?
  3. So about 20 or so Mr. Canada's posting and at the same "intellectual level"? If that's the case then nuts to that.
  4. Is it half decent debate, or is it just the blue version of rabble?
  5. Just ponder these questions: 1. Why did Layton not get a plug from the announcers like Vince Vaughn and Micheal J. Fox? 2. Why do they put cameras in bars in the first place? 3. Why did Layton have to be in the prime location of the shot, when he could have been anywhere else in the bar like at the women's game? the optics look bad for Layton. And like I've said before, any politician no matter what party that would go on with that type of nonsense is a weasel no matter what stripe they are.
  6. And it's even easier to be uber PC and look the other way. There was enough "convenient" coincidences to label him a weasel. Evidence enough. I'm calling him a weasel, not sending him to jail. Your entitled to your opinion. You like to give the benefit of the doubt, I don't. Your a nice guy, I get it. Like the question's I'm wondering for Layton...
  7. And I brought up my possibilities, not my fault Layton put himself on the trolley tracks. Where did I say it was 100% scientific fact. Layton's optics look like garbage. So allegations are now possibilities when its convenient for you. Just too many "convenient" coincidences happening at once, that's all. What are you too PC to play connect the dots?
  8. The Richardson family has dumped over 100 million dollars with their adventure in Saskatchewan crushing canola. They wouldn't be big players if they even were in on that deal. Don't expect the coyotes to move after a long period of time after that kerfuffle in the desert. The NHL board of governors has clearly stated they are not done with phoenix yet.
  9. She surmised that CTV was there to film Layton not the crowd. I don't think she counts that is a hard fact. She made her allegations, I made mine. Of course the reasonable person gets that AW is more objective. She gets the easy defence of "oh he just happened to be there." I have to base my attack on circumstancial evidence, theory, and logic - while sound, just doesn't cut it in a court of law. I'm not out to put Layton in jail, I'm out to call him a weasel. That's why I'm not a judge, I get the luxury of assuming guilt, the judge does not (and rightfully so I may add). He's a big boy and in the spot light. Price of fame. Yes, it's opinion. This is the court of public opinion, not a court of law. The rules are completely different. All sides of the political spectrum are guilty in exploiting potential foilbles, that's part of the game that is politics. As far as this goes, I am simply connecting the dots. Some people will agree with me, some people won't. Would you be willing to give Rahim Jaffer and his little shenanigans the same benefit of the doubt, and don't worry your not a juror in that case? I'm not, and I could care less.
  10. And by stating your opinion about Laytons comings and goings that day, your as guilty as I am of assuming. The only way either of us will know Layton's motives is to hook him up to a polygraph machine and post the results. I'd be willing to put the odds on my side of the story and go to vegas with that. You can have your legal mumbo jumbo and naivity, I'll have my logic. I am a cowboy, not a court judge, I don't have to assume innocent until proven guilty.
  11. Exactly, just as your assuming that ol' jackie was only out having a beer with the common folk, and just "happened" to get on TV. Your as guilty of conjecture as I am. To say he didn't weasel his way into a primo spot to get on TV is being naive of the first order. This is Jack Layton, as MDancer would put it as the guy playing the cancer card. For someone playing the cancer card, its only logical to assume he would weasel his way into the most opportunistic spot to get his mug on TV.
  12. Nope, Layton got no plug. CTV did however want Vince Vaughn to be on camera, and gave him a "Oh look Vince Vaughn is in the crowd". Layton did not get that curtosy. Ergo, CTV did not plan for him weaseling his way onto TV. They said who the camera was looking for right when it was set up, a crowd of patrons at Gretzky's. No mention of Layton at all. Why weren't politicians at Cole Harbour Nova Scotia weaseling their way onto TV. The camera was being set up in a location that got a good crowd shot and a little bit of the bar to show it was a bar. Layton weaseled his way in when he could have taken the classier option. Except they didn't want Layton in their shots, they wanted ordinary people. The announcers did not acknowledge Layton was there, they did acknowledge Vince Vaughn and Micheal J. Fox. No, this goes for any politician, that's just dirty. I save my harshest criticism of CPC blatant mess ups because they ruin the credibility of the centre right. Yet you don't get CTV and didn't watch the game in its entirety on CTV. The video evidence doesn't lie, he is front row centre, when he didn't have to be. The camera wasn't panning for him, the announcer didn't acknowledge him. That to me says he weaseled his way in to get his mug on the Canadian equivalent to the super bowl. That's gutterball for a politician who can get on TV whenever he wants.
  13. Fixed it for you. Now your trying to play the sympathy card... You brought this all on yourself.
  14. To be cruel, Kleing blew up a hospital, fired nurses, and slashed arts funding to cut spending. Stelmach opened up the spigots again. That depends on which economist you talk to. In 2010/2011 RBC says SK wins that little race. My link
  15. At least with you I can have an intelligent debate that benefits those who read this site as they get both sides of the story. With Mr. Canada its bye bye centre right credibility...
  16. You don't have a strong right wing perspective, you have a fascist perspective. Your attitude concerning civil liberties and your attitude concerning economics and business are proof of that. If you want to be taken seriously and to persuade others to your views, you need credibility, unfortunately the way you present your arguments damages that. I am not trying to bully you, I am succeeding. I don't care if your pissing and moaning about being "bullied", your problem not mine. I don't PM, anything I say to one person can be said to others. My issue with you is that your ridiculous methods in arguments are ruining not only your credibility, but other centre right posters/Canadians. Ordinary Canadians are turned off from people with your perspective, and there is a fear of the centre right that breeds untrue stereotypes, when you are that stereotype, that fear in ordinary Canadians is confirmed and it ruins things for Centre-right Canadians. You are Cancer. Go Home.
  17. For now, SK will be better in the near future. The economic forecast of SK is just too good. Alberta's rollback has a track record of being successful. The only problem Alberta will have down the road with its lower royalty rates will be what to do with all that money. Considering Alberta's "advantage" with oil, they have kept spending under control under their unique circumstances and the elimination of the debt is testament to that.
  18. Your opinion isn't valid because you have ruined your crediblity and the credibility of centre right posters with your nonsense. Yet you are wanting to videotape said alledged sex acts ruins makes that a nutbar viewpoint. Your excessive baiting and trolling about jews makes you have a nutbar viewpoint. here's another nutbar viewpoint of yours, you want canada to have a civil war. No, your just crazy. My point is that you take viewpoints that a sizeable proportion of people have, and express them stupidly. You advocate that Canada should enter a civil war, you sir are a nutbar. As for me being worried about you defending yourself, I'm quiverring in my cowboy boots.
  19. A low royalty rate served Alberta well before the hike, and will serve them better after the hike was slashed. The hike did nothing except drive away investors and their money. You can't argue with success. The low royalty was successful, the high one was not good enough. If you think that NFLD can compete with SK with just their oil platforms and their pittance they get from Hydro, you are mistaken. SK has far too many cards in their deck. NFLD will be alright, but SK will be much better.
  20. Bulls***, starting threads off with "PM Harper, friend to all Jews" is blatantly trolling and flame baiting. Posting your opinions in your manner is trolling and flame baiting, and that's why everyone on this board skewers you. You called for the thunder, well here it is. No you have nutbar view points, you claim to be a conservative, but your Walmart arguments say otherwise. No, your a fascist, that about sums it up. There were more centre right posters years ago, but they moved on, and they weren't as bush league as you are. However, this board is not left wing in spite of the centre right posters leaving. No, your viewpoints are crazy and poorly defended.
  21. You are underestimating the potential financial prowess of our neighbours to the west. When the price of Potash takes off again, which it will because agronomic practices state that producers cannot cheap out on fertilizer for too long. Newfoundland will be left behind. That's just one commodity of their's. Here's the fact of the matter, we have Alberta which had the cheapest royalties, SK a slight more, and NFLD which is significantly higher. Which provinces are the best off because of their policies. If investment was recovering at the higher rate, why would Stelmach cut royalty rates? If by your logic the investment was recovering, then it would be in Stelmach's interest to leave the rates high or hike them some more in order to get more money for the coffers. This is where you are wrong. Investment was going next door to Saskatchwan and BC which had more favorable rates during the time of the hike, and Alberta was getting itself into hot water. Stelmach had to cut the rates to get investment back into Alberta so it could keep the economy going again, otherwise SK would get all the investment money and Alberta would be in a heap of trouble. If you think companies are going to invest in places that have high taxes/royalties, you need to take an online economics class.
  22. That is what he should have done for the men's game. Perhaps he figured out he should weasel his way onto TV for the men's game when the camera was switched on. Another theory is that a regular fan got the primo spot thus buffaloing Layton's attempt to get on TV for the women's game. As it should be. See above. which is what any celebrity with a shred of dignity should be doing when there are no plugs being given out during the hockey game. The camera was looking for Vince Vaughn in Vancouver, and he was credited with a plug, the camera was not looking for layton, and the anouncers did not give him a plug, but the audience knew who Layton was. That is weaselry at its finest. You did not watch the game on CTV. The camera was not set up to include him specifically in any shot. They panned for Vince Vaughn, but not for Layton. Layton had to weasel his way through a crowd to get on TV, ol' Vince sat in his seat in the press box none the wiser. No, that shows me he didn't get his way at the women's game or the thought of going on camera didn't click at that time. He was definetely expecting it for the men's game, front row centre. He must be peeved at Vaughn - Vaughn gets a full plug, on the camera, and vince was none the wiser.
  23. My link My link Saskatchewan's oil royalty rates have been dropping for years. Hell Romanow and Calvert even knew they had to lower oil royalty rates. Brad Wall at the height of the boom said he wasn't going to raise them even though Alberta did. More got invested in SK because of it. Newfoundland tried gouging the oil companies for years, and they are decades behind where Alberta and even SK are because of it. Judging by the royalty rates the citizens of Alberta made out better than the citizens of SK, so that little theory of yours is false. The oil companies did what was fair. That oil is worthless if it is still in the ground, and if there is more profitable oil to be found elsewhere in the world they will go and get it while Alberta milks a dry cow. Stelmach learned this the hard way. I don't think you realize how incentives work. A company isn't going to drill for oil in Alberta when they can get it cheaper next door in SK.
  24. You should have been here when Geoffery used to post and when August1991 posted more Sure it does, you keep telling yourself that . We already know what happens when Alberta tried to hike it's royalty rate. It's safe to say that the low taxes and low royalty rates are why there is more revenue than other places. Yet we have a significant political movement with the creation of the WRA, and Ed Stelmach tripping over himself backpeddling with the royalty rate snaffoo. Looks to me like Low taxes and low royalty rates are the order of the day for Albertans. Albertans are not getting screwed by the oil companies, without them that oil is worthless, and thankfully Albertan's realize that. If you think that's the case take a drive to Alberta. A great deal of those companies are publically traded companies and some are based right out of Alberta. Saying Albertan's are getting screwed by the oil companies is the most ridiculous thing you've said, come on your smarter than that. Your not seeing the forest through the trees.
  25. I don't remember seeing a camera set up in a fixed location during the women's game, and if there was, I didn't see Layton plant himself in primo position for a camera shot. When they have the cameras at those bars, there is one angle of the shot, no panning around looking for celebrities. Oh I don't know, the feed from CTV being incentive for him to get a primo spot right in the middle of the camera shot. Had the camera not been there, and had he not got himself conveniently in the middle of the camera shot I would agree with you. It would have been far better optics for him too.
