  1. You claimed the whole document was a forgery. Now your moving the goalposts and saying taking the AG's comment out of context is forgery. Are all comments out of context forgery? Did the conservatives make up a fake document and put the AG's name on it? By your initial post you think so.
  2. Claiming a misquote as a forgery. There's a difference in being wrong and forgery.
  3. That's not forgery, that's a misquote.
  4. Speaking of stupid, what forged phony document? The february draft that robert fife got a hold of? If it was forged wouldn't either fife or the auditor general have something to say about that? Stupid is as stupid does
  5. What that money was spent stupidly? Everybody knows that. The federal govt does that on a regular basis. Kevin o'leary makes an interesting point: During the g8/g20 summit, canada's brand around the world shot up in value. Was that not worth the money? Hell politicians blow a billion here and there on less.
  6. Wrong, there are 2 people in trouble. The one you mentioned, and the source of the february draft that fife reported on. I find it funny that the media is still saying allegations of illegality and misleading parliament when document number 2 clearly busts that myth.
  7. Hello tinfoil hat
  8. Just on the ctv newsnet loop, bob fife has the february draft which has no mention of illegal and misleading/contempt of parliament. However, the report is critical of spending, as was already known in the msm throughout the summer.
  9. There already is a tax on gasoline, it makes up a big portion of what consumers pay at the pumps. Why do we need another tax? Its not a tax needed, its a sky high futures price (which ironically the same people complain about - a la the speculators)
  10. Oil is not an input that causes problems. I would be extremely foolish to complain about high oil prices. To hedge against oil, I buy into dividend paying oil companies, which gives me some cash and helps out with future retirement. Putting a carbon tax on oil is ridiculous. Supporters of that tax say it puts a price on carbon. Well carbon has a price, it trades on the nymex and is trading at 109.43 per barrell. If 147 dollar oil can smarten consumers up, why do we need a tax?
  11. Shhh! That'll put him in the clink!
  12. Sustinance living on half an acre? That is proposterous. You can't raise an animal on half an acre unless your trucking in feed for the winter. I assume that half an acre also consists of a house and yard. Not much room for growing berries. Then there is winter time, you would need hydroponics in a heated shop to keep yourself fed all winter. Have fun trying to power that, that would be borderline phase 3. Then there is the obscene opportunity cost involved with being self sufficient. I farm 3000 acres and there is no way I am wasting my time and money with that nonsense. It is not financially viable to raise cattle because of the opportunity cost of the land used to feed them vs growing a crop. There is a reason people don't sustinance live anymore, it is too expensive.
  13. I agree. And to add it would be much cheaper as well. What would it cost to hold a leadership review/election in caucus? You'd get the best leader, anyone sitting could run and not have to worry about finances. If party cardholders want a say in who runs, let them pick the candidate their party runs in each riding.
  14. You pretty much got it there. That scandal does not look good at all and will affect swing voters - most likely stay home like the last time. Look for another 300 million dollar bill in about 2 yrs. The only shot the tories have at a majority is how sick voters are of minority govts. That's the ultimate what if.
  15. How in the blue hell is hiring a hitman self defence? She had an option. Its called a moving van and a restraining order. It should be do not pass go and do not collect 200 bucks for her.
  16. Keep dreaming, they'll still win the election. The only thing up for debate is by how much.
  17. They just raised the prices in canada to offset that. That option won't be availible when target comes in and can compete with walmart on price. Take a look at walmarts financial statements then multiply the difference of what you think should be wages minus actual wages. Multiply that number by the total amt of employees worldwide. Walmart doesn't look so profitable does it?
  18. Expect these polls to be in the 38-42 range for the cpc until the debates. After the debate is when the polls will be interesting
  19. Corn will not hit 10 dollars. It would take a crop failure and 200-300 dollar oil to do that, which would put us back into recession. Corn prices always drop for the november contract because of harvest and the large amt of new crop corn in the system.
  20. I don't know why people advocate "putting a price on carbon". It already has a price and it trades on the nymex. If al gore and his ilk want to justify taxing carbon, they can put their money where their mouth is and buy oil futures and bid up the price to reduce consumption.
  21. Most farm machinery is now manufactured in western canada or the usa. The "ontario farm machinery manufacturers" went belly up.
  22. So? Its either mine for oil or join the americans on the unemployment line.
  23. Minority govts have a pain of being that way. Do nothing, spend lots
  24. Of course they were good, I think that those tax cuts did "cost" a lot of money, which is why tory brass doesn't want to touch them especially with spending at these levels. I will say this, if the tories do get a long term mandate with a majority, and there are no personal income tax reductions down the world, there will be a lot of unhappy campers (me included). I don't see personal income tax reductions unless the deficit is slayed.
  25. Nobody wants to cook the golden goose. I think that's where most of the tax revenue comes in. It would be like the walmart situation - a tiny rise in wages for employees would put walmart in a bad financial situation. With the feds, a tiny tax cut for personal income tax would "cost" a boatload of cash.
