  1. I am breaking no rule. I would yet AGAIN tell you to take it to the admin, but I suspect you already have. I have a feeling greg is getting sick of you.
  2. But you aren't attacking Harper personally? Right... I already told you, if you think personal attacks are occuring against third parties then report it. You've been here so long and seem to have such a good grasp of the place, I'm surprised you don't know that. I can appreciate why you want to change the subject, but the purpose of a forum topic is to discuss the topic. To insist on doing otherwise is trolling.
  3. Actually I'm quite shocked. After all the rightwing accusations against Liberals governing by polls it's amazing to see the Conservatives do it. Of course the same people now think it's just a perfectly normal way of doing things. Go figure! I would think that the environment wouldn't require polling. It's very telling that they poll on such a subject. Get ready for Harpers plan for the environment. No doubt full of the words "clean","safe", and "healthy" - as Frank Luntz advises. No reference to "global warming", I'll wager. Harper isn't genuinely interested in the environment. If he was, he'd state his opinion on global warming. Instead he avoids the subject....which isn't hard for him since he takes no questions!! And he polls on the subject...to find out just how little is required.
  4. Go to babble, or complain to the moderator yourself. Your language is extremely disrespectful to our Prime Minister. Disrespectful to the Prime Minister? Oh, I'm SO SORRY!! What is wrong with you? It's you who is trolling, so send those rules to yourself. I have little respect for the way Harper is attempting to lead this Country and it will be a cold day in H#LL before I betray that reality just because he's your beloved Prime Minister. Blind allegiance and love for Bush is what's gotten the USA into the mess it's in. I love Canada, not Stephen Harper.
  5. "Is THIS pathetic" I wrote. The obvious translation is that the hiring of the pollster is pathetic. You warp it into me calling Harper himself pathetic. This is not the first time you've done this kind of thing. You are well capable of dishonesty, that much I've learned from the small amount I've seen you in action here. Stop complaining that I an above the rules here. You've done it before, and it's BS. If you have a complaint about me alert the admin rather than start flame wars. Come on Gerry it's fairly obvious you think Harper is pathetic...you've insinuated as much. Whatever. There's what I wrote, and there's the whining by RB over what thinks I wrote. I'm starting to think she's Stephen Harper's mom the way he chases me around crying over how mean I am to Harper!
  6. There's something wrong with labelling some behavior or action as idiotic nonsense? Why, exactly? If all you can do is run around complaining that people are being mean to Harper then don't waste your time.
  7. You need a tin foil hat. That is flaky sh#t. I guess we'll agree to disagree, unless of course you can offer me proof that the CBC is centrist. Huh? I need to offer that proof.....why? The CBC is professional. They're not perfect, but painting them as the enemy is idiotic nonsense. Unfortunately that's what Harper may be engaged in.
  8. What are we to make of your false quote of Layton? You're not allowed to falsely quote people. Just sayin'.
  9. You need a tin foil hat. That is flaky sh#t.
  10. You could look at it that way....or you could look at it in the light of reality. They're finding out just what they can get away with on the environment. They're finding out just how little they can get away with doing on global warming (or "climate change" as they're only willing to call it). You don't poll on the environment, you act. You act with the best possible information for the good of our society and our world. At least you do if your name isn't Harper.

  12. The Liberals are not left, centre, or right. They are whatever they think appeals to a significant portion of the Canadian population at any given point in time. Lot of back scratching going on in this topic. The Liberals are what they are. The irony of your general insult though is that the Conservatives are twice as guilty of what you speak than the Liberals have ever been! Have you not noticed how they've governed? It's been an election campaign from the beginning. And now we learn they're polling on the environment. Did you hear about that? News just this last week. Stephen Harper hired Strategic Council to poll Canadian attitudes on the environment. What a thing to poll about. So the next time you want to swiftboat the Liberals about acting on Canadian attitudes just remember that that Cons polled on the environment. Don't forget to mention that at the same time. Stephen Harper has governed more or less as he campaigned. Can you say that about the last few Liberal PMs??? More or less? He has governed "more or less" as he campaigned? Look, some of us are taken in by 5 election promises. 5 little items, easy bite-sized things for a distracted electorate to digest with the right amount of PR. Nevermind that one of those items has not only NOT been delivered on (hence your "more or less" I presume) but has actually been removed from the list and not talked about (how can he or anyone in his government be required to talk about anything since they don't talk to the media???) Harper is running a joke of a government. He hides from the press and pretends to be......what? I dont' know. He can't hide forever though.
  13. Who would have thunk it...the Conservatives hire pollsters to tell them how to act. Sort of like Frank Luntz I guess....he is a pollster. They're no doubt also following his model on the environment...i.e. don't say "global warming"...say "climate change". Details here: http://allpoliticsnow.com/content/view/28/1/ scroll to "Luntz advises Conservatives to not talk about “global warming”" But again....who would have guessed that Conservatives hire pollsters to tell them how to behave! ON THE ENVIRONMENT OF ALL ISSUES!!!! I'm flabbergasted.

  15. More ignorance used to bash the media. The Globe And Mail was responsible for bringing it to our attention. http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/groupaction/ Start reading at "By the early spring of 2002...."
  16. You are correct. I don't like people who attempt to downplay important issues like global warming and who shut out the press with a cynical and crybabyish claim that the press is his enemy. Not too hard to figure out.
  17. "Wimp" is not an insult, it's a determination that I've supported with an explanation. Is it an insult to call a wife-beater a "coward"? No.
  18. That is a little simplistic. Journalists are professionals and seek out relavent stories without consideration for commercial concerns. What's really sad is how Harper has turned all of his supporters into media bashers. The media is an INTEGRAL part of a democracy. Without it, democracy suffers badly. Your assumption that the opposition parties will keep enough of an eye on the government thereby supplanting a need for what the media supplies is naive.
  19. That's odd - I thought Members of Parliament, Senators and the Queen are the peoples' representatives, and Harper had to face them. The media, it seemed, were just some people who are paid to tell us the news. How ignorant I've been! Indeed. See last post.
  20. They're certainly not MY representatives. I think I wanted a representative - aside from the representative in parliament, of course, I'd have chosen one which was both smarter and more honest. So you've recognized aspects of the media that are not smart and not honest, so you need no representative? You sir, are a fool if you believe your government should be trusted without oversight. Who alerted the public to the sponsorship scandal? The media IS your representative, whether you want it or not. They're working to protect your interests. Just because your political leader has decided to start a PR war with them don't be so foolish to pretend the media has no value in a democracy.
  21. Nonsense, I criticize him deservedly. This is the ONLY topic that I've been attacking his character on, and truth be told it was just a reaction to all of the ad hom posts I'd been seeing from the right. The whiners are most guilty of what they complain of. In case you haven't noticed, Harper is engaged in total and complete message control. All is keyed towards the next election...interaction with this government is scant and of small substance. They're following the advice of Frank Luntz on things like global warming...which is to say they're stalling on the issue. That is unforgivable. Personal grudge you say? No, nothing near it.
  22. Did they apologize, or just express "regret" because "it appeared as if the Prime Minister was responding to that particular protester", which wasn't even what all the outrage was about!! It's pathetic all around for anyone pretending there was something biased or unfair to Steven in that piece, and pretending that the CBC apologized for what all the Conservative shills were so shrill about is even more pathetic.
  23. That's the problem with warmongers, they think war is all about "politics". There's no appreciation of the realities. Jack Layton is entitled to his opinion about our involvement in Afghanistan. All Canadians are. You can disagree with Layton, but it's not necessary to paint a military involvement in which our soldiers are dying as nothing more than "politics". I personally feel we should fulfill out 2009 comittment. The government should indicate right away that we depart on that date. That would motivate people to get things done before then.
  24. He hides from the media like a little boy. He is a wimp. And his shills engage in cowardly attacks on the media over nothing. That supposed misrepresentation thing by the CBC is a joke!! I have never seen such a baseless and contrived criticizm before. It is bizarre. TOUGHEN UP HARPER, FOR GODSAKE. FACE THE MEDIA, THEY ARE THE PEOPLES REPRESENTATIVE....SO OF COURSE YOU WILL GET TOUGH QUESTIONS. INSTEAD OF CRYING THAT THE MEDIA DOESNT LOVE YOU JUST ANSWER THEIR QUESIONS. Yes, I know the lad is not reading this, but perhaps if a shill reads it he or she can pass it on to Steve.
  25. Now it's all returned to pre-election levels. CPC can't get ahead with Harper as a leader, which is amazing given that it's the entire right under one tent. The left needs to unite now. That would bring true progress and democracy to Canada.
