Who is bringing in the american style politics?
olpfan1 replied to PIK's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
why do you have a problem with people demanding a public inquiry? they're not demanding the governor general to call for an election.. just an inquiry -
Just know that when the Conservatives claim unsubstantiated and incorrect stuff they'll be found out asap

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/elections-canada-targets-paypal-records-in-robo-calls-probe/article2359806/ Elections Canada’s hunt for the identity of the political operative behind robo-calls designed to misdirect voters in Guelph has led the watchdog to records at PayPal Canada, a company that handles online payments and money transfers. Investigators for Elections Canada have used a court order in an attempt to get PayPal to hand over information sought for their probe into the southwestern Ontario riding.

Of course it's a left wing operation with an agenda, that is a no brainer I still don't understand why he is so upset...the Conservatives have agendas of their own and they are a lot more offensive than this -
I'm confused, I remember some conservatives wining about me calling the CPC "Cons", If I can't call CPC "Cons" and liberals "Liebrals" then no one can call the NDP "Dippers"

I watched all of the videos and there were no violent threats made, not one, and they even said it was unacceptable to retaliate with violence so I wonder what Scheer was smoking.. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/1141706--hacker-group-anonymous-threatened-vic-toews-says-commons-speaker “These videos contained various allegations about the minister’s private life, and made specific and disturbing threats,” Scheer said. “The minister has stated that he accepts that coping with vigorous debate and sometimes overheated rhetoric are part of the job of a politician, but argued that these online attacks directed to both him and his family had crossed the line into threatening behaviour that was unacceptable. “He contended that the threatened actions contained in these videos constituted a deliberate attempt to intimidate him with respect to proceedings in Parliament.” Videos posted on YouTube show a headless man in a black suit under a red maple leaf and laurels as a computer-generated voice demands Toews’ resignation and calls for a controversial online-surveillance bill to be scrapped. “I have carefully reviewed the online videos in which the language used does indeed constitute a direct threat to the minister in particular, as well as all other members,” Scheer said. “These threats demonstrate a flagrant disregard of our traditions and a subversive attack on the most fundamental privileges of this House. “As your Speaker and the guardian of those privileges, I have concluded that this aspect — the videos posted on the Internet by Anonymous — therefore constitutes a prima facie question of privilege and I invite the minister to move his motion.” The Commons can now debate whether to order the hackers to appear before a committee.

How do you think they do recalls in the U.S? Petitions. Giving people the emails of public servants and politicians and asking them to demand a public inquiry is hardly what you consider a threat to Canada. In fact if you at all thought they had nothing to do hide you too yourself would be demanding a public inquiry. But I see you're doing some damage control for the conservatives and doing a really crappy job at that -

Someone should probably tell P.K that one of the guys that helped Harper become the leader of the reform / conservatives was an American political scientist named Tom Flanagan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Flanagan_%28political_scientist%29 He was also the man who called for the assassination of Julian Assange and was the prime suspect in the Cadman scandal -
