olpfan1 replied to olpfan1's topic in Media and Broadcasting
No NHL players would make it really interesting.. I'd still pvr the games! Malkin & Ovechkin said they will be there no matter what I imagine they won't be the only ones As if Bettman is going to punish his top stars.. yeah right -

Eric Grenier is one of the conservatives go to guys at the mail, whenever something happens he is the first one to write something positive about the government or tries to play down whatever has went on I don't read his articles anymore

I can't imagine having to watch the olympics on the internet...I enjoy the internet but some things are just meant to be on tv..that would ruin the experience..I'd have to watch it on NBC? or another american network..I wanna watch it on cbc or ctv..this is really unfair http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/lowball-olympic-bids-from-cbc-bce-open-door-for-yahoo/article2358280/ Competition to broadcast the Olympic Games in Canada is about to become an event of its own, with Yahoo Inc. (YHOO-Q14.72-0.21-1.41%) considering a bid to steal the Games from the country’s television powerhouses and push the coverage onto the Internet. Broadcast rights to the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia and the 2016 Summer Games in Brazil are up for grabs after the International Olympic Committee rejected two “lowball” bids by a Canadian Broadcasting Corp. and BCE Inc. (BCE-T40.670.060.15%) partnership. Their most recent bid was quietly rejected in late February, The Globe and Mail has learned. That has opened the door for Yahoo, which is now weighing using the Canadian broadcast rights as an opportunity to enhance its reputation as a content producer and revitalize its fortunes after losing ground to rivals such as Google Inc. (GOOG-Q621.25-1.15-0.18%) The Sunnyvale, Calif., company’s involvement could spark a bidding war for the rights, and also change the way Canadians watch one of the world’s most high-profile sporting events. Canadians have embraced online services such as those offered by Netflix (NFLX-Q115.102.352.08%), and by 2014 could be even more comfortable bypassing traditional broadcasters to watch the Olympic Games.

My bad evening star, I apologize for being a dick
-
you're probably just a spy, I'm onto you
-
I agree, NDP is more than capable of at least doing a better job than the government who has Canada in the largest deficit in Canadian history...and THEY WANT TO SPEND MORE And then a shill like evening star says we should be afraid of the NDP? shiiiiit, is that some kind of joke?

So was Mulroney

I see one party trying to turn non violent potheads into convicts and the other parties not I see one party trying to egg on a war vs Iran and the others are not I see one party trying to turn environmental groups into extreme radicals to benefit their oil buddies while the other groups are not Yes, I do see this as left vs right, the conservative policies are the policies of the republicans in the U.S Paul Martin cut down on spending, he didn't invest in anything new that he didn't have to..Harpers government keeps on spending like crazy.. I mean for gods sake open your eyes, The Conservatives just spent 12 million dollars on ads to tout their budget and how good they are for Canada meanwhile they just closed down an arctic scientific station which is vital, they just axed every student employment center in the country..they could have kept those places open but instead they chose to put out CPC propaganda..and you think this is preferable than the NDP? Give your head a shake
-
I don't know, Bob Rae vs Mike Harris .. whom do you think is the most hated?
-
Layton couldnt have been scarier than harper no way
-
harper is screwing up canada
-
so they were afraid of the ndp but not harper? yeah i believe you not
