Can't be "murder". The woman didn't die. Attempted murder perhaps or even aggravated assault with a weapon.
Damn.....this guy could be looking at up to 25 in the clink (months that is). His religion will play a huge part in his sentencing - guaranteed. And THAT is why his being a muslim matters in the story.
