  1. I think what Harper is doing right now is far more important and meaningful than just a simple apology. After all, anyone can do the obligatory lip-service...especially when your political party is on the line. The Liberals do not need another nail on its coffin....especially a nail so big as this one...the vampire could hardly get out as it is.
  2. The church won't know until someone blows the whistle on the guilty priest. They could try preventing admittance to priesthood by doing the same screening they do for daycares I guess....but then again, perverts still manage to get into daycares despite criminal checks. We still hear of abuses every now and then. I think parents should be more vigilant now. If my son needs to practice for the choir, I'll be there with him. And if I'm a priest, I'd make sure I'm not left alone with any minors or women...just so to prevent any gossips or any doubts.
  3. Drea, my position in this topic is this: I do not deny that there are numerous abuses and sexual molestations that happened in our church. I am appalled and angry that those happened...and I could guess, still happening somewhere....and would probably still happen in the future. Like all places that offer golden opportunities for perverts to exercise their sick fantacies freely (daycares, schools, boy scout, Big Brother, White House, residential schools....practically anyplace that offer a position of authority and power), you bet perverts will gravitate around those premises and seek employment. At the height of the Catholic Church scandal, an investigative report was conducted (under the previous Pope's regime) and the report found out that there is a cabal of homosexuals and pedophiles who had infiltrated the church over the years and generations. Don't forget that the Catholic Church is the oldest religion I think....and this had been going on for generation. We can probably likened this cliques to a "secret organization" within the Church...its members aiding, abetting, shielding and protecting one another. I wouldn't be surprised if that is one of the big reasons why we hear that this so-called priests who molested a kid was secretly "transferred" to another location. If a pervert would choose to work in a daycare to be around other children....I think you would agree with me that a pervert can easily manipulate effectively if he is wearing a priest's garb and holding a bible. It happened to a friend of mine when he was around 14! His parents had trusted the priest that they treated him almost like friend of the family...being invited for Sunday dinners. Imagine how betrayed they must've felt? His mother was even sort of blaming herself...for not even suspecting anything! Perverts become priests....not because they want to spread the teachings of Christ. They are using our church to get to the children. As a result, a lot of people end up losing their trust for the church and the other priests who are not doing anything wrong. That is what I mean when I say that the church is a victim too. I do not wish to condemn the Pope simply for the reason just like any other man, he had not been proven guilty of any "obstruction of justice." There is apparently a lawsuit going on, based on Gerry's provided link....so I wish to await the outcome of the hearing.
  4. Some men just find it erotic to initiate an innocent into sex. I think that's the real aphrodisiac for those who want to corrupt minors...not necessarily pedophiles (since the age preference with these sickos are varied that some even violate babies! So I don't know nor can I speculate or guess, what goes in their sick mind).
  5. I know that some looks can be deceiving now...especially how girls are all made up and looked so much older than their age! Examples are some fashion models who start as young as 13 or 14. But they look so mature walking down the ramp...you'd never guess they're that young! And some girls go for older men...and lie about their age! And I agree whole-heartedly that homosexuals and heterosexuals...who go for 14 year old are both on the same boat. They're sick SOBs!
  6. Amen to that! Plus having a husband or partner who understands.
  7. I think the age of consent here in Canada is now 16...or they are still working on it? I'm not sure if it's already official. So anyone screwing 15 or 14 year olds...and younger...falls under the category of a pedophile. Do you agree with that?
  8. The most effective way to "correct" the "trolls" would be to provide a solid back-up to your argument.
  9. Mud slinging and accusations mean nothing in a public forum unless you can back your accusations with proofs or facts. Anybody can do that. Even a 2 year old!
  10. I'm sure if we look hard enough yoiu will find muslim leaders who support suicide bombings....and you will also find christian leaders who support direct action against clinics. Can you please provide a link supporting that Christian leaders support direct action against clinics? I'd be very suprised...since supporting that kind of violence is very much against the teachings of Christ.
  11. Okay enough kidding around. Sorry if I got carried away with my jokes with you. Now back to our discussion. I'm confused here. Help me out. Someone who's screwing a 16 year old is not a pedophile, right? Because the age of consent is 16. But, what about screwing a 14 year old? Do we call the screwer a pedophile or a homosexual? Or both?
  12. Oh quit worrying about the button. Instead, use the time re-reading the exchanges. Who knows you might even come up with new ideas to re-butt....all on your own! You won't need "House" to help you out. Sorry but I still am grinning here..... ...so what's the best episode so far? What channel and sched...maybe I'll try to catch it one of these days. Every now and then I'd try some shows...but pfffft...can't really get into any of them! I'm into movies! Btw, do you know homosexuals lisp??? I can prove it! Check out "Life Of Brian"...the Monty Python movie! Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha
  13. Ooooooh. Meowwww. All you stay-at-home moms! Get your fat asses from your tv! You ain't " working for a living." Actually Drea, we've cancelled cable about 15 years ago after realizing that we never used the tv other than watch rental movies. Only got it back sometime last year since it came with a package....and it was election time!
  14. I'd be the best proof ? How do you mean ? You cannot prove your own arguments. They had been riddled with holes and proven wrong! You practically admitted to grabbing your opinion from thin air. And bluntly speaking, that amounts to resorting to lies. And yet you had no reservations at all in casually dismissing our assertions as "fallacies!" At least I understand the extremists for doing what they do. They are driven by a religious faith. And they come from another culture. But I do not understand you ....what you hope to gain by practically lying...twisting words just to ensure that our concerns are not taken seriously....nothing more than "fallacies"... ...and that makes you really someone to be apprehensive about.
  15. And you can add this to my list of proofs: Muslim cabbies refuse to carry booze Geoff Elliott, Washington correspondent October 02, 2006 MUSLIM taxi drivers in Minnesota have declared jihad on duty-free, refusing to carry passengers who are carrying alcohol. The ban has created chaos at Minneapolis-St Paul international airport, where about three-quarters of the 900 taxi drivers are Somali and mostly Muslim. Airport officials have begun working with taxi drivers to install colour-coded lights on taxi roofs to indicate which are alcohol friendly and which are not. The lights are expected to be introduced by the end of the year. Ali Culed, a Somali Muslim who's been driving an airport cab for eight years, said the ban was "a religious issue". "I cannot force anybody to change their belief, but not in my cab," he said. "I don't want the guilt. I just want to be an innocent person." Eva Buzek, a flight attendant who grew up in Poland, said that when she asked a driver to be careful with her suitcase because it had wine in it, he dumped her bags and told other drivers not to carry her either. Four more refused her service. She said the ban went against American values. "I don't want to impose my beliefs on anyone else," she told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "That's why I'm in this country, because of the freedom. The Koran strictly forbids buying, selling, drinking or carrying alcohol. http://www.theaustralian.news. -------------------------------------------------- Here's a question for you: How do you think the 2nd and 3rd generations will lose their faith and assimilate.......if the first generation keep carrying out aggressive enforcements of their religious belief?
  16. Corrections Michael. You can't prove your assertion....but I HAD PROVEN MINE! You don't see it, because you refuse to see it!
  17. How did you arrive to the conclusion that it's a Win-Win situation? Why do you have to lie? In your own country? And what if they started insisting on doing a luggage search? Just to make sure that no one is doing exactly what you just suggested? Body search? Who sez our democratic western system have to put up with it? You know what in my opinion is a win-win situation? Shipping those taxi drivers back to their Muslim country! Problem solved! End of conflict! Obviously...they're not happy here!
  18. Just proves what we have been saying in the other threads...which is being dismissed as a "fallacy"...that something is going on. This is not just about a normal request to respect religious rights. This is an ENFORCEMENT, and a gradual but steady orchestration to undermine our way of life. And they're being enboldened and encouraged by some of our very own....those bleedin' hearts...who think nothing more of handing out the western way of life...all in the name of appeasement! And I'm so touched by their concern for our men dying, fighting a war in a distant place to preserve and protect democracy. Counting body bags and all. Right now basically they're saying "big deal! So what?" See how quick they use it to turn the tables around...taking the heat from the real point in this discussion...and directing it instead to Christian religion. The shallow comparison to renting a hall to same-sex! Like as if refusing to rent a mosque is all they'll do to same-sex partners or any gay for that matter (marriage or not)....if we end up becoming a taliban nation. Darn the irony! As a Christian, I never thought I'd be arguing for the gays to have the freedom to be themselves! I wonder whom are they going to champion if the cab drivers start refusing gay passengers? I'd like to see it happen (just once)....only for the curiousity of seeing...how these people will try their balancing act navigating around it!
  19. Airport passengers should voluntarily refuse to ride in taxis driven by those who want to enforce the ban...regardless whether they've got alcohol or not. Unless the public start doing their own little protest....it will only get worse.
  20. No, but you're just plain wrong even though it was your own post. Nowhere in did it mention that they refuse service exclusively to heterosexual Catholics (i.e. discrimination on the basis of religion). Their problem is with a particular product. BTW weren't it one of you guys recently advocating the right of public officials to refuse service to the people of certain sexual orientation? Talk about hypocrisy, but somehow I'm not surprised. But who sez the refusal was over being heterosexual Catholics? I know it was about alcohol! It is against their religion! That was the reason why they refused the woman...she has duty-free alcohol in her possession! That is why I said it's like gays having to go back in the closet if they want a cab ride home! Because homosexuals are beheaded in Muslim countries....not just for the fun of it...but because, like alcohol, homosexuality is against their religion! So there's much likelihood they'll refuse openly gay passengers! Are we on the same page now?
  21. Who's counting? How many threads about Muslims? Harper-bashing? Afghanistan? Somehow I get this feeling that the topic of pedophilia is some people's "boogeyman". Like a family's skeleton in the closet (no pun intended).
  22. betsy What's more of a public service than... well... a public service ? That is - a civil wedding ? I support the right of the taxi drivers to not drive booze, but the company is within its rights to demand that any new drivers they hire agree to carry booze in their cabs. And JPs who have been performing weddings throughout their careers should be allowed to decline a same-sex ceremony. Now THAT is consistent. Well at least they don't chop your neck for having booze. At least not yet. I wonder what would happen if a couple of same sex perverts tried getting in their cabs. Somehow I've got the feeling that some gays would willingly hide in the closet...temporarily...while they are in the cab. But of course I could be wrong.
  23. Did I say anywhere I agree to that? They are not priests. A priest has the right to decline....I don't know about civil servants. Actually...this incident gives a different perspective to the alleged religious rights being allegedly proposed (which allegedly is said to be untrue). It could open a whole new can of worms.
  24. I'm not sure you can read right ... OK .., again: can you point to the place in your own post where a service was refused based on the religion of the customer? A service was refused based on the religion of the cab driver/restaurant owner!
  25. Where do they get their say to refuse a particular beverage in a cab meant for public service? They can refuse it in their private homes or mosque. Why was thier knife accepted in a public school? Nobody was refusing the person. They're just refusing the knife! What gives them this special status? Why do they have this "bubble of immunity?"
