Who'd of thunk it?
The Honest Politician replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Will they be voting as a block? -
Hello. We're talking about the possibility of tens of thousands of people opening small daycares in their homes. That is a far cry from what we are already doing. The numbers of licenses and new inspectors will be far less because there will be fewer daycares with more spaces per. Plus the fact they will be staying in daycare centres and not someones home, means there is no need for new minimum guidlines, for a different type of environment. I could say the same for your oh-so-correctly spelled lame arguments.
-
The need to license Daycare Operators. The need for a license Exam.(development of the test, and course could take months or years.) The need for licensing course instructors. The need for licensing centres. The need for licensing centre employees. The need for the creation minimum standard of safety in each daycare. The need for inspectors to ensure minimum safety standards are met. The need to create an inspector traing course. (again, the development of such a course couls take months or years.) The need for an inspector training centres. The need for inspector training centre instructors. Those are just some forseeable expenses before a single child is actually in a new daycare. If all you can comeback at me with is my poor spelling, why bother to argue the point? Spelling be damned, the Conservative "plan" is simply not going to work.

The Big Scare is Back
The Honest Politician replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The only Party I saee using the BIG SCARE is the Conservatives with their Grey area Attack ads. Of course they figured out how to run an attack ad in a manner that in court could be argued it was not a true attack ad. Keep them coming. John Kerry thought his attack ads against a seemingly unpopular leader would work too. He got millions of more votes.......for Bush! I like how the conservatives warned everybody about Liberal attack ads, and then started airing two of their own. The fact people think they will behave any different once in power is a joke. Already they have been crying over the money wasted by the Liaberal govt., and yet Harper has pretty much already spent the budget surplus. You ever see that guy who can undress people while he is talking to them, just by using misdirection? The guy can undo your belt while you are looking at something. Then he will get you to partially turn and pull your belt right out of your pants, without you noticing. The conservatives campaign reminds me of this. -
Harper... Hate or Love?
The Honest Politician replied to SamStranger's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hold on. I just read that Harper wants minimum jail terms for possession over a certain amout. -
How many holes need to be shot in the conservatives daycare "plan" before you just give it up? Seriously time and time again reasons have be shown as to why the plan won't work. How there is going to be huge back-door expesnses. How the potential for a child being in a hazardous environment, is far greater under the Conservative "plan". It will not work. It is a seriously flawed plan, that hasn't been thought through.

Harper... Hate or Love?
The Honest Politician replied to SamStranger's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Destructive comes from the outcome of their policies if they are given a chance to make them law. Enough hints. You figure it out. -
Harper... Hate or Love?
The Honest Politician replied to SamStranger's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Please, like you have been offering anything better to support the Destructive party of Canada. I find it funny how what is OK for the Destructives is underhanded or wrong for the Liberals. Nice campaign ad. First tell everybody to expect, a low blow it from your opponent then do it yourself. -
Speaking of accountability: Conservative leader Stephen Harper claims he now wants to improve accountability in government but his public record reveals this is nothing more than political double-speak: * Stephen Harper opposed amendments to strengthen the Lobbyist Registry (Bill C-15, Lobbyists Registration Amendment Act). * He voted against the Ethics Bill which created an independent Ethics Commissioner (Bill C-4, Parliament of Canada Amendment Act [Ethics Commissioner and Senate Ethics Officer]). * He opposed the political financing bill that put tight limits on corporate and union donations and strengthened donation disclosure rules (Bill C-24, Canada Elections Amendment Act [Political Financing]). * He has opposed all efforts to put limits on the influence of third-party advertising during election campaigns, even fighting the issue at the Supreme Court as president of the National Citizens Coalition. Mr. Harper said he will repeal these rules if he becomes Prime Minister. * Mr. Harper has opposed a recent government initiative to require third party groups that advertise during elections to reveal the identity of their donors. * He has repeatedly refused to reveal who bank-rolled his 2002 campaign to become leader of the Canadian Alliance. * He has refused to reveal exactly how much was paid to Ezra Levant in 2002 to get him to step aside from the Calgary Southwest nomination so he could run in a by-election. * Mr. Harper has refused to make his deputy leader, Peter Mackay, reveal the identity of the single donor who paid off his $500,000 leadership debt. * Mr. Harper appointed as a Defence Critic Gordon O’Connor, a man who has acted as a lobbyist for the defence industry for seven years. * Today Mr. Harper pointed to the record of Brian Mulroney and suggested he will use Mr. Mulroney as his standard of ethics. Mr. Harper’s spotty record on ethics contrasts with the reforms Prime Minister Paul Martin has brought in over the last 18 months. http://liberal.ca/news_e.aspx?id=11298 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> SSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH When you point out the obvious reasons not to trust him they get angry.

Harper... Hate or Love?

Well if it walks like a duck, and it sounds like a duck......... -
Why is Harper so scary?
The Honest Politician replied to Hicksey's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sorry no such luck. The Liberal guy who left the party over the SSM issue is part of some Marriage Organization and was just on CBC newsworld promising that SSM is very much an issue and they are going to make sure it stays an issue. Because they want people to vote for a party that wants to keep Marriage a Man and Women only thing. You ever have a dog that swims out to try and help you when you are swimming? What usually happens is while the dog is trying to swim it's paws and claws are pushing you under. -
Harper... Hate or Love?
The Honest Politician replied to SamStranger's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why thank you for your lovely greeting. I don't agree that it was a personal attack. It was an editorial commentary that disagreed with the statement quoted. Just in case it missed the mark, what I was saying was that by increasing spending and decreasing tax revenues the budget surplus that we are currently seeing will soon disappear. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was F'n funny. LMAO -
Harper... Hate or Love?
The Honest Politician replied to SamStranger's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
First off: That is just a crock! I would have to spend $23,750 on items subject to the GST to save $475. Why conservatives even bring that up as "real savings" for the "average person" is beyond me. It really is all about SSM isn't it? Try this point of view. Not to mention Harpers lovefest with the US!!! Do we really need a PM who is nothing more than a superpower's lapdog?? Imagine if Harper had been allowed to send troops to Iraq with our biggest ally.....We'd be screwed. And broke, because we would have needed to to have a much larger military than what we have. Oh ya like the one Harper is proposing. So we can spend all that money, and run a deficit, and then get sucked into conflict after conflict with the US, which means spending more money and running a bigger deficit, on top of having even more our youth getting killed. Harper, 46 years old-- and very smart, smug, rude, arrogant, self important. Anybody else see the CBC show Minority Report on the 2004 Election the other night. Tom Clark has a good reason for following Martin this time around. Candid insight from reporters on the huskings was very revealing. -
Harper... Hate or Love?
The Honest Politician replied to SamStranger's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Pardon my asking, but the last time anyone called himself an honest politician was Ontario's Mike Harris. Who were you referring to? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have you ever met an Honest Politician? Me Neither. It has no reference to anyone. Just being a smartass. -
Harper... Hate or Love?
The Honest Politician replied to SamStranger's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And when people can see the same attitudes, towards anyone who disagrees, right in Harper himself, is it any wonder why they don't like him? -
I am sorry at which point did I confuse you as to what party I would be voting for.
-
Can you not read? I am totally behind the liberals now. I wasn't before. It is the choice between evils. The liberals thank you. As for being considered liberal by my posts. You must believe that everybody who doesn't agree with Conservative policies is a Liberal. Well they're not. Just like not everyone who disagrees with liberal policies is a conservative. You don't have to be a liberal to find holes in flawed plans. As for not posting anti-liberal posts in any of the many threads that are here. What I found in those threads is what drove me over to the liberals dispite any corruption that is there. It is too easy to see the same attitudes found here, in Harper. I am sorry but you are trying to argue something about which you have nothing to support your argument. You don't know who I supported in the last election. If I had of been here, last time, the Liberals would have accused me of being a closet conservative. I know I got three other people to vote Green, last election. (unless they lied to me.) So, whatever. Happy Freaking New Years!

Would you vote Liberal?
The Honest Politician replied to bc47man's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Could you post a link to the original article? Sounds like an interesting story. -
Let's see,a Liberal, pretending to be a Green, changing his vote for Liberals, pretending that the reason to vote Liberal is based on a forum that you think is 1/2 full of conservatives.....now that's really priceless. Try voting on issues that are relevant in your life. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You care to back up yet another baseless accusation. Exactly what evidence do you have that I was a liberal before I came here, or that I am now Pretending to be a Green Supporter ? You are sad. You have no proof at all to back yourself up. Where else would be a good place to see what conservatives are really like but on a conservative dominated forum. Really, let's try to think a little bit here. I wasn't going to vote for the CPC's main rival until I came to understand the values that would be represented, and shared in Ottawa by a Conservative Govt.

How many separatists lurk in CPC?
The Honest Politician replied to BubberMiley's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> LMFAO Funny how Harpers imperfections don't arouse the same anger in you as Martin's. Oh well, the CPC got away with one there. If there wasn't such attention on the RCMP investigation, it may have become an issue.
