  1. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> His statement was still a lie. It is not splitting hairs. Figures a "comment" right off topic would come from you.
  2. Doesn't make me any less sick of hearing pure tripe about Harper. Worthless opinion spewing like saying he's "mean-spirited and hates Canada" has no place in rational discussion. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fair enough. I can agree with that. Not to say I don't enjoy a giving a verbal jab now and then. You are right though, as adults we should be able to behave better.
  3. Either he is becoming a Liberal, or he is not showing his true colours.
  4. Oh well. Making you want to vote for him "even more" doesn't make your vote count for more than one. If you where going to vote conservative anyway, then it was already too late for you. If you want to have facts, read the second article I posted. It is both long and disturbing.
  5. Still doesn't make Harper's statements true.
  6. You are the one who has a problem with it. You are the one who called it "drivel". You are the one who says it has no credibility. You are the one saying the blog is a lie. So, you can refute the claims yourself.
  7. What did I post under the first link? It's a point of view. The "Credibility" of the source is of no issue. It is a point of view. You know "fredom of speech"? Just because it doesn't conform to your view doesn't make it wrong, unless you have facts to back up your own claims, and refute what was in the article. Can you prove Harper is not Bush-lite? For someone who is "non-partisan" you sure got offended with the suggestion that Harper is like Bush. We have discussed here, the whole "if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck..." type of reasoning, and may I say you came in "quacking" quite loudly. So what if you say you aren't a conservative, your behaviour is nothing less than what I have come to expect from conservative supporters on this board. Hence the mistake, if there ever was one. If you are truly upset about people being unjustly accused, go defend Martin on the Gomery issue. He was cleared by Gomery but you wouldn't know it the way the "fact" of his involvment is constantly brought up. Or defend the fact there is no actual proof of insider trading, and that the RCMP investigation was undertaken at the request of the NDP, who based their conclusions on pure hypothesis of what caused a market spike. Or the fact Harper lied to the Canadian people about the suitcase full of money that the Liberals wasted on nothing but an empty folder.
  8. What do you know, the conservatives have a conspiracy theory to rival that of the Bush/Cheney administration's rise to power. It's a long read. Link So do you have anything to back yourself up? Or are you just going to post whatever dribbles out of your mouth? All I am doing is posting what others have written. You are being childish. Show us all how Harper is not simply Bush-lite. Back up your posts.
  9. How is my "cred" in question due to someone else's opinion? Your logic is a joke.
  10. Utter drivel. I once heard Bush claim that the sky was blue. Harper has also used this same terminology. How long will it be before Canada is fighting imperialistic wars in the middle east if this keeps up? If blogs like this constitute credible sources in your mind you should maybe be watching cartoons and not posting on political forums. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Another personal insult from a conservative. What a joke! I suppose your conservative blogs are all true, right? This is simply another person who cannot fail to see the similarities between Harper and Bush.
  11. I think all of Canada would like to hear more about "western seperation". Personally I don't like being held hostage with threats. Especially the same threats Quebec has been making for decades. With such an obvious pervasive attitude within the Conservative party it is no wonder they fired that campaign manager so fast, for his seperation comments. The only way to keep an agenda like that under wraps I guess is to dismiss those who talk about it publicly.
  12. Link So there is a report to go with that suitcase of money, and empty folder.
  13. Uh-oh, conservative-logic-time children. I know some facts about marijuana, so Mr. Willy has taken it upon himself to infer I am a producer. Does knowledge of handguns make you a gangster? You just have to love the mindset around here. Have you ever seen a live pot plant? The actual BUD, only makes up a small part of the total plant. Have you ever seen cops do a bust on TV? (Documentary not COPS.) The cops pull the plants out of the ground and take them away to be weighed. They do not take the leaves, roots or stalk off the plant before weighing it. If you want to get some knowledge on Marijuana, just do a search on the net like I did. If you get a chance, watch some documentaries on the subject. Or buy a magazine, there are atleast two or three, probably more, monthly publications out there. If you want a good laugh check out the movie GRASS. It protrays some hilarious stereotypes that where used to try and scare teenagers in the 50's or 60's.
  14. I have already pointed out where there will be substantial cost after the conservative plan is put in place. The cost will either come from needed regulation of the slew of new daycares to ensure child safety, or it will come in the cost of children themselves, as the poverty of their parents leaves them in substandard and potentially hazardous daycare situations.
  15. Wet weed, a living plant. Can you not read or do you simply choose to ignore what people actually wrote? Do you think the cops trim the plants before they weigh them? The weigh stalk, leaves, roots and even the dirt on the roots. Six pounds of that is nothing. But again if you had bothered to actually read my post you would have seen where I already made that clear. The weight used in court is the weight the cops give as evidence. Which is the most weight possible. They do the same crap when it comes to the value of Marijuana. They say it is worth $1000 per 1/4 pound. Where? Who the hell is paying that price? The answer is NOBODY. They inflate the numbers so the bust looks better. Remember Sgt. Stadenko:"The bigger the bust, the bigger the boost." They will tell you " There was a hundred plants in that house, worth a thousand dollars each." Meanwhile there are ten mature plants, ten half done flowering, twenty that haven't started to flower, and the rest haven't even grown over seven or eight inches tall. But they are all worth a thousand dollars each. What a crock.
  16. Thanks for the personal insult. More conservative maturity. I put it out there as an opinion that someone posted, and just because it conflicts with your little conservative world views you attack me personally. Grow up, and get a life.
  17. Cops will weigh the dirt on the roots just to boost their numbers. Wet Marijuana is heavy and 6.6 pounds would not be the total weight of one medium sized living plant. The guy with a plant in his back yard does not deserve two years in jail. I will grant you that 6.6 pounds of dry Marijuana Buds is a heck of a lot. But you are probably only going to find that type of quantity among organized crime members. That is totally different. They made their choice, and they can deal with the consequences.
  18. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A wing, could be anything from a whole new ministry or simply the new division/branch/agency within an existing ministry. It realy depends on how bad and how fast the conservative plan starts to crumble. The faster it implodes, the bigger the damage control team will have to be. Back-door refers to all the costs Harper isn't telling the public about up front. He wants to parade this so-called cost effective plan in front of Canadians to win votes without telling them about all the additional expenses which are going to arise. He makes the offer of money in your pocket when in reality it will end up costing you more than it ever has, through the back-door expenses.
  19. Link Interesting point of view.
  20. Right, my mistake. He didn't acutally say "possession" of 3kg. But someone who is found in possession of 3kg is usually automatically charged with Trafficking. So I see no real difference. Decriminalizing is a half assed approach. It should be legalized, taxed and controlled. The fact Marijuana is illegal, while cigarettes and alcohol are perfectly legal is one of the biggest jokes in the law books. The revenue generated from selling "grow" licenses and taxing store bought marijuana could go directly into additional border patrols and "hard" drug law enforcement. The truly evil drugs like Crack, Crystal meth, Extasy, heroin, and what ever knew one comes along could be fought with both money produced from the legal cultivation and consuption of Marijuana and also the money saved from not having to fight it in the first place. Drug users would be supporting the war on drugs. How can that be wrong?
  21. It is the people who administer the licenses, and tests, and work in the offices that are paid for by the govt. . Not to mention the people the Govt. will have to hire to create a new realistic license test or course. It is a serious possibility that an entire new wing of the govt will need to be created to to deal with childcare licensing, standards and complaints. Don't worry there are more than enough back door expenses to ensure this is truly another Federal Govt. money pit.
  22. But in a normal daycare environment there are other adults to police the adults. I am not saying it doesn't happen. I am saying that the conservative plan will create the opportunity for more of it to happen. There will be more children in daycares where there is only one adult present. There will be no accident reports. Only the word of the daycare operator. How many children right now are put into unhealthy, unlicensed, daycare situations? Do we really want to incease that numbers by thousands?
  23. Having thousands of unlicensed individuals opening daycares up everywhere doesn't bother you. How about when the first pedophile opens their own daycare? We will all be crying for licenses and guidelines, and background checks. But it will be too late for some poor kid. The conservative plan lends itself to this most unfortunate scenario. Did you not read the "plan"? Harper wants to give tax-breaks to the private sector so they can provide daycare for the privilage few who are employees of the company. There will be no expanding of public daycare. More money being spent. As far as reinventing the wheel, putting children in a daycare where there are two or three adults in a room, is a far cry from putting children in a house with only one adult. It would require different standards because of the likely hood of a child being left unsupervised, even if only for a few minutes, is far greater when there is only one adult present. Are the private daycare facilities not already inspected, and their owners licensed? Do they not already give subsidies to low income families? How small of a town are you talking about? My town of 15000 has atleast three pritave daycare centres as well as ones in some of the local schools. How far do you have to drive now? Atleast spaces will be created that are available to people who can't afford regular daycare. Are you anti-social? Social interaction is essential in a childs development. What a lame argument. Is being in a house with 3 other kids under 6yrs old and only one adult to supervise really in any way better or safer for the child? I think not.
