And how would a lot of us even afford that insurance. Be sensible, there are a lot of people out there on mack jobs, how would they pay. Why do I care because I was brought up as a Christian with Christian ideals. Well maybe those like you who can't afford health care coverage get a subsidy of some kind like welfare and those of us who can pay do. It would be a better system once you get some compettition involved.

[ Sideshow I agree with you. We have a great system where everyone is treated equaly. What it appears to me is the like the big Texan I saw coming out of our open clinic, he was furious because he had to wait his turn. It that was public health care, he wanted nothing to do with it. He stood at the door and yelled about having to wait his turn. Good grief MARGOOSE are you still convinced we have a great system because those of you in Burk's Fall's get some service. Open you eyes and mind to the rest of the country will you.

Maritimes continue the burden on Canada
Duke replied to geoffrey's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
[ Atlantic Canada. Correct me if I'm wrong here - but the last time I checked an employee who voluntarily quits his/her job doesn't qualify for EI. Is this some sort of fishing industry loophole? Or am I just too far removed from the intricacies of government slush funds posing as manditory insurance (aka a tax)? The whole system in the maritimes is geared to screwing the taxpayer in central Canada, imo -

Prime Minister Harper Should Dismiss Frank McKenna

Peter Lougheed.............interesting but how about MICHAEL HARRIS? -
Never heard of them! What do they want ...marry boys?
-
Well said Spike. I have always suspected that this culture of entitlement has been encouraged by the Maritime Elite (Jodrey's,Sobey's,McCain's and Irvings) so that they don't get any real competion and always have a pool of cheap labour. On top of that they are the first in line for government hand-outs!

She's attractive but completely not loyal. She is pretty average looking if you look past the expensive clothes and hair-do's imo. But on the other hand I have not seen her naked!

I think that the NDP will melt down further.Poeple like Buzz Hargrove will shift to the Libs in a last ditch effort to stop the Harper steamroller.

Harper Dragging Canada into Exteme Danger
Duke replied to River_God's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
By the look of the long line ups at ADVANCE Polls a lot of Canadians have heard enough ,made up their minds and voted already.I am going to vote tomorrow and leave for a warmer clime. -
Mike Harris did nothing wrong.
Duke replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
The "Legions " that voted for Harris twice to give him majority governments were the 905 ers. The same "Legions" that it looks like will give Harper a majority.Watch for it ! Legions of hard working tax paying middle class families. -
Paul Martin doesn't deserve this...
Duke replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
All Martin did for 8 years was shift the debt to the Provinces rather than do real work like cut costs, eliminate waste and streamline governement............not too creative imo. -
Paul Martin doesn't deserve this...
Duke replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If Harper is elected he will start his campaign to get re.elected Jan 24th. This will not involve alienating voters with far right policy. He will govern from the middle just like the Liberals did to ensure he is not a one trick Pony. -
The habit of Martin and the Liberals to equate being a Canadian with being a Liberal is really pissing me off! I think this is starting to backfire ...Libs have no franchise on being a good Canadian imho.

CPAC poll today puts the Conservatives leading with 36%. This may be the start of something GOOD!!!!!!!!

You have to be careful defining Ontario voters .They elected a PC government for 42 consecutive years. Most of this period one could define the ruling party as middle-of- the- road. They grew tired and lost to a minority Liberal government that was supported by the NDP.The Liberals after 2 years won a majority . They were later defeated due to arrogance and scandal. The NDP became the next majority government basically by default not a deap seated love of the socialists. 5 years later the voting public tossed out the NDP after disastrous management of the province.Thi s was followed by 2 back to back majorites by the Harris tories who were more like the Reform Party than the Bill Davis PC's. CONCLUSIONS: Ontario is generally a middle of the road vote. Not too far right and not too far left. They will toss a government that appears arrogant and is plagued by scandal. One experiance with the NDP was enough , probably never again. Ontario will vote for a platform further right than Harper's current under certain circumstances and did with Mike Harris . To win Ontario you don't need most of Toronto but you do need most of the 905er's along the 401. For what it is worth: I do know that Mike Harris years before he won.. consulted heavily on policies to turn around the economy with the governors of New Jersey,Michigan and Wisconsin . Years later all 3 Governors ended up in the Cabinet of GWB.

Jack Layton cannot talk Ethics NowJ
Duke replied to southerncomfort's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Talk about calling the kettle black .... wasn't it interesting how Jack, out of the blue, turned on a dime and said that private clinics are okey-dokey? He did that right after Stephen Harper said that should Laureen need timely treatment he'd make SURE she got it. It makes you wonder if some wise guy leaned over to him and said ..... "Psst, Jack! Cut the crap or I'll tell them all about how Olivia got timely treatment for her recent bout with cancer." Makes me wonder, anyway. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Old Jack probably found out he needs a hernia fix pronto and the only place that can take you quickly is the private Shouldice Clinic in Toronto . They have been private for probably 40 years or more and do Hernia's only .Many pols have used it . -
Which MP Would You Most Like To See Lose Their Sea

Mike harris proved that you can win If you appeal to the 905ers. However note that he never came across as a leader of the religous right. Right or wrong Harper has been painted by the Libs as a scary member of the US style religous right. Too bad. But he needs to combat this impression imo to win in Ontario. Ontario 905ers are not bible bangers!

Now that Buzz Hargrove has come out to support a Liberal led minority, what will his reward be if it happens? A.Senate Seat B.Ambassador to Ireland (or some other comfy spot)

I saw the NDP in power from close range in Ontario between 1990 and 1995. I t was the "Ship of Fools" in action so I will never believe these clowns can govern a country.

Interesting how the BUZZARD always talks about the Auto industry in terms of GM and Ford. The non union shops of Toyota and Honda are building new plants in Ontario so the net auto production figures will not decline ...only the unionized jobs for the CAW. If there is this desire to our throw money at private companies I wold rather it got to winners like Toyota than to the losersl like GM.
