  1. BINGO!!! Iggy's got it in the bag, there are no ifs ands or buts about that. Do any of you think congratulations are in order? I do.
  2. I heard that some super-duper heavyweight will waltz onto the Liberal convention floor this morning, to put his support squarely behind Iggy? Who could it be? Could it be Benedict XVI? Better yet, could it be JC? JC is my bet! Since you're up and rolling maybe you could keep an eye out for him. Thanks in advance!
  3. PERFECT! Can you imagine if the ex-oficios clung to Iggy right away? The next thing you know every low life will start complaining that the big shots won. Keep it low I say, and so does Iggy. GO IGGY GO!
  4. After his speech tonight I'm not only 100% certain, I'm way over 100% certain that Iggy is going to win. What a beautiful and powerful speech that was ..... it sent tingles down my spine. You know, it is not too late to switch, Geoffrey. Think about your reputation. You've got about an hour, that's all! BB Oh and by the way, not that I think that that'll make any difference to you as it may to some other people, but just in case ..... his eyes are blue. You have only about a half hour left ........ tick tock, tick tock, tick tock. BB

  6. If you do go ,,, say hi to Iggy for me, please! And btw, could you please ask him ... if he is chosen ... to please change Canadians views on things like tolls on highways and a carbon tax (while lowering income taxes)?! THANX!
  7. Ditto your Gerry! Wanna bet him against my Iggy? I'll give you good odds. Since we cannot bet real bucks how about if we bet our reputations. I'll bet you 99% of my reputation against 1% of your reputation. Is it a deal?
  8. I'm going with Mr. Ignatieff because I'm onside with everything he is accused of doing wrong by the treasonous "Anybody But Ignatieff" crowd. So is yesterday's Liberal convention keynote speaker, Howard Dean, I'm sure. I believe that Michael Ignatieff would make a great opposition to another brilliant man, Stephen Harper. And I also believe that these two true geniuses, respecting each other's superior intelligence, would bury the hatchets, and the usual axing of any ideas that come from the other camp would stop. They'd just bounce the ideas off of each other, and believing that two superior brains are better than one, they'd be extra confident in implementing them. Which camp is presently in charge would be the last thing on their minds ... because all they would worry about is what is good for Canada. In other words, I have a vision that with these two in charge, Canada could become a political Shangri-la for others to strive towards ... in the not so distant future. We can only hope.
  9. Giuliani's got it in the bag. RUDY! ... RUDY! ... RUDY!
  10. You see, Stephen knows and does remember Preston Manning's genius and how his great ideas were always stolen by the Liberals. Over and over again. And now that the shoe is on other foot and it is the Liberals who now possess the genius amongst them in Michael Ignatieff he is out to pay them back by taking all of his ideas as his own too. Preston is now regarded by every thinking Canadian as the "Best Prime Minister We Never Had" and I hope and pray to God that we don't make the same mistake yet again. Amen!
  11. As far as questioning Pete's QUALIFICATIONS because of his comment about Stronach. Bull. I think you forgot to click on QUALIFICATIONS?
  12. I always knew that they shared wisdom. What I didn't know was that they also looked alike. The pictures of both of these titans, Mark & Ari, are side by side in today's NP, and the resemblance is absolutely stunning. LOOK! Here's an excerpt: "They share wisdom, and facial features I may have an explanation for the Steynomania sweeping the National Post readership. The recently unearthed bust of Aristotle featured in Wednesday's edition bears a striking resemblance to none other than ... Mark Steyn."
  13. If you keep thinking like a child you'll never find them. These are the people who are supposed to be making the policy that determines the future of this country. These are the people responsible for collecting and spending two thirds of this country's tax revenue. Because I object having to pay big bucks maintaining 306 of these worthies, their flunky's and facilities in Ottawa so they can waste their time engaging in this kind of crap, I'm the one thinking like a child? How much time and resources are being spent outside of Parliament trying to spin this thing for political advantage? How long will this Parliament last and how much of it will this juvenile exercise take up? Will any of them volunteer to give up even one day of their Christmas break to deal with the country's business after spending so much time on their own petty squabbles? If that is thinking like a child in your mind, it tells me something about you. This story has little legs other than reinforcing people's disgust or sadness at watching grown adults drive another nail into the coffin of their own institution's integrity I say a pox on all their houses. Whenever they indulge themselves in one of these sand box exercises, I have to wonder if this country wouldn't be better off if Ottawa was hit by a 9.5 earthquake and the whole of Parliament Hill disappeared into the river. These people are so engrossed in their little Ottawa game they have no clue what kind of fools they have made themselves look. That's how I think. I'm sorry but all you are doing is parroting what every Harperite is saying ... that discussing MacKay's little fiasco is "a waste of time & money". I don't think it is. I worry about Pete's QUALIFICATIONS for pete's sake!
  14. He is a bad liar. Isn't it the #1 requirement for politicians, ESPECIALLY the ones in high places, to be expert liars? To make lies sound truthful, to know when to hold onto lies and when to fold them, to when in doubt tell the truth? Good thing is that Stephen Harper now knows that he's got an absolute amateur in a high position ... let's see how long it takes before he's got Pete where he belongs, in the dog house (aka back bench). As Mark Steyn (or was it Aristotle, I always mix those two up) once said ... "Liars when they speak the truth are not believed". Canada doesn't need proven liars in high places, ESPECIALLY not in Foreign Affairs.
  15. You can bet your patootie that there are going to be hordes of them.
  16. If you keep thinking like a child you'll never find them.
  17. Maybe. But not to the same degree as women. When was the last time you heard a man stressing about his biological clock. OLOL !
  18. Stephen Harper cannot have a man-child holding Canadian diplomacy in his hands !!!
  19. Just like Don Martin said ..... "This will not go away. And the Prime Minister may have to step in unless, miraculously, the story loses its legs over the weekend. Not bloody likely." He IS great!
  20. I wonder how much of the braveness arises from the fact that while on a mission they are pocketing $96,000 instead of their regular take home pay of only about $42,000 or so.
  21. Well, here on the left coast most people have a great image of Ralph Klein (I heard somewhere that Gordon Campbell has a 3 by 2 meter painting of the man hanging in his study). So my prediction is that by the time Ralph is finished with Bob he'll be in the dumps here in B.C.. http://www.edmontonsun.com/News/Alberta/20...124264-sun.html
  22. Ever been to Canada or the US? I've been to many U.S. cities, from coast to coast, and I agree with Seabee ... I don't feel any difference. BTW, Argus, you forgot to answer Seabee's main question: "Don't you think Québec is far more different from the Rest of Canada than the latter is from the U.S.?" When I go to Montreal, it's a completely different world out there. It's like being in another country altogether. Ever been to Montreal or Quebec City?
  23. In today's column Babs tirelessly ooohs & aaahs over Bob Rae, and says that it's he (Bob) who is the "best shot to win". Tsk tsk tsk, there ought to be a law.
  24. If you say it is I'll take your word for it. Quite a while back a friend of mine took up morris dancing. In Montreal. He hasn't stopped dancing ever since. My question is, are Quebec's morris dancers also distinct from the regular ones?
  25. I don't think that Mae Wests or any of the other foods make for any more a distinct culture than Nanaimo bars & samosas in BC or cod cheeks in Newfoundland could give them a claim to needing their own nation. Everyone in Canada has bagels, smoked meat, social tolerance & equality now. Many places have a St Patrick's Day parade & brutal winters. Revenche de creche? They're reproducing at a lower rate than the rest of Canada. I think the Muslim community has that one in their corner now. Celtic music?? Wouldn't the Rock really be the ultimate place for that? Hell ... I think they just call it "music" there. If Montreal's architecture is distinctive, then so is Vancouver's. Distinctive from what? Most cities look different from each other & Montreal looks more like Toronto & Quebec City than Vancouver does. I'll give you sugaring off & the civil code. Although they sugar off in Vermont ... so I guess Vermont will have to be part of the new Nation of Quebec since they share this stunning cultural sameness?
