Som Poll Shows Liberals At 57.5 %
Yodeler replied to Michael Hardner's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What we'll see next spring is Stephen Harper in the Primeministerial chair. After reading an article by Miro Cernetic in today's Vancouver Sun (page A3), I'm pretty damn sure that THE MOMENT that Stephen Harper starts poking fun at Martin's insistence on selling softwood to the Chinese, his Conservatives will take a giant leap forward in the polls. -
Three other posters, Newbie, C.Garrett and Melanie, pick him to win. Looking at Suzuki's past, his love for some animals yet hating others, that won't help him a bit.

Deleted. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I drunk some corn liquor last night with Irvin Cobb, and today I have no clue what I posted. So I deleted it. This was the first time I drunk corn licker, and it's everything Irvin told me it is, and more: "It smells like gangrene starting in a mildewed silo, it tastes like the wrath to come, and when you absorb a deep swig of it you have all the sensations of having swallowed a lighted kerosene lamp; A sudden, violent jolt of it has been known to stop the victim's watch, snap his [her/it's] suspenders and crack his [her/it's] glass eye right across." My ophthalmoligist won't be pleased.

Just yesterday Semper was complaining to Greg that ...."there is no off topic forum where we can get to know each other". Can't you wait until Greg accommodates him? Thanks in advance!

Your thoughts on *the* referendum..10 years later.

Scorpio, eh? -
Dear Thelonius! She's in, but don't get your hopes up! I know I know ... it has been a long time between drinks for that woman, but that doesn't mean we should stroke her ego now because this award has nothing to do with novelists. So no matter how much she complains that she didn't get an award in a long long time, she will not get it now. And lets face it, dear Thelonious, that is all she ever was good at .... writing novels.

BINGO !!!

You were 17 or 18 in 1995, eh? That would make you about 27 today. You were also, at least according to what you told us in the "Baby Boomers turn 60 .." thread, born "into the tail-end of the boom". That would make you at least 41 today. Do you have an explanation for that other than finally finishing high school at 31? It wasn't THAT damned tough! -
Tell your kid to bet on the Russian ... Alla. She's a shoe-in.
-
I hope he gets in. Wouldn't it be a mammoth slap in the faces of Harper's Conservatives who threw him out like a worn out shoe ...... let alone if he won?
-
You've got THAT right. Russians can pour those nuclear babies down their enemies' throats just as potently and just as productively and just as effortlessly as the U.S. can. Thank God for that!

That bibliobibuli sure has plenty to say. But I doubt that much of it is original.

Martin to press Rice on guns
Yodeler replied to Leafless's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I wouldn't call that "hardball". It's more like blackmail. Kids try that all the time. And sometimes, depending on the parent, they even get away with it. George Bush is a good father. -
2,000 deaths too many
Yodeler replied to theloniusfleabag's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Even for 427 troops whose deaths were not related to combat operations? "The U.S. military death toll in Iraq officially reached two thousand on Tuesday, with the announcement of the death of a soldier who was injured last week. The figure includes 427 troops whose deaths were not directly related to combat operations. -

I wonder who Canadian aboriginals blame it on. -
HEEEEEERE COMES CHARLES !!! All I'm waiting for now is Preston Manning to draw in and I will have a great bet going by betting all three ... Irshad, Preston and Charles ... in a trifecta.

You DO realize that there are lots of stressed out people from whom one can custom order, don't you? I kind of knew that this wouldn't be you .... I was just joking with you. Besides, ever since I discovered the Goodwill stores, where one can score a brand new Joseph Abboud for US$1.29 on a good day, .... I no longer have any NEED for people like you.

Should minimum wage be increased?

Marx & Engels must be turning in their graves. Had they known that that is all that was needed to make Communism work .... they would have highlighted it in their Communist Manifesto. -

Yodeler replied to theloniusfleabag's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It sure would. Or else the retailers wouldn't bother with such deceptive tactics. It would also be less contemptable had you discounted the tragic deaths that would occur had they all stayed home and were assigned to do lots of vigorous training exercises instead. -
When someone differs greatly from other people ... simple minds don't necessarily look at HOW they differ before they puff themselves up and call that person a "nutcase". And let's face it, Preston Manning was different from other politicians. VERY different. Preston Manning was & remains one of the few intellectuals in Canadian politics. He is also arguably the most influential man of this century in Canada. Almost every policy of BOTH of the main political parties now reflect his analysis & his ideas. Add to that the fact that I doubt that you could find a more honest man in politics & the fact remains: Preston Manning is the best Prime Minister Canada never had. PS - The National Post just started a competition called 'Beautiful Minds' where they are looking for Canada's most important "public intellectual". I'm sure Preston will be nominated, and I just know that if he wins .... that that will send Eureka COMPLETELY over the brink. And frankly, FTA Lawyer, I don't give a damn!
-
It takes time to get over something like that. Now if he were to apologize .... as we know he will ....
-
Feeling a little stressed out today, Eureka? There's this men's boutique and they carry lot's of Josph Abboud. I LOVE Abboud stuff. I'm 34 waisted and like my tops loose, XXL! I pay 17% on the value. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gee I'm sorry, Eureka, seems like your defence of Svend, saying ...... "He did not have a mental illness. Nor does he seem to be a thief or a criminal. He did what tens of thousands do every year when stress gets on top of them." ...... gave Greg, Fleabag and that lawyer guy the same idea I had. At least I didn't stoop so low as to try to stress you out just to get my Abboud sooner. Not that I'm not grateful to them for stressing you out in the 'Harper=Problem' thread ..... they are doing such a great job, I may get a full wardrobe out of it. I wonder what's on their shopping list.

Bill C-407, a Bill to legalize euthanasia

When I originally said there was something fishy about this case I wasn't sure. But as I read more and more stuff on it it gets fishier and fishier and fishier.
