  1. Unless a person wants to smoke a medicinal herb, then all rights over your own body are out the window.
  2. Who legalized pot?.................A joint session of congress! What do you call someone against the legalization of pot? Ignorant!
  3. A fiend of mine died while on a 6 week waiting period for access to treatment that he sought out himself. Treatment for hard drugs is NOT readily available. Treatment for "cannabis addiction" is a ridiculous joke, and would not even exist if people didn't pretend they were addicted to avoid jailtime, or responsibility for unrelated criminal activity. Cannabis is less physically addictive than caffiene.
  4. I think they were just investigating what evidence they needed to delete from the CIMS database so that they could obstruct justice most effectively.
  5. Exactly- Harper only thinks its a failure because Canadians will not stand for public executions of pot smokers. Harper is not realistic at all, he thinks ramping up the police state is the only way to succeed. It goes back to his religious convictions as missionary alliance church that pot smoking leads to demonic possession. They must have come up with that while he and stock were "speaking in tongues" about it.
  6. A repeat violent sexual offender lives closer to me by 20 miles than the police station. I have 3 daughters and a wife. The hell with what you think. Even my 10 year old knows how to shoot safely. Going hunting has also taught my girls that guns kill and you can't undo it once you pull the trigger. You have to mean it. They are not afraid either, they have all been in self defence classes since kindergarden, and will not be anyone's easy victim. It is you that seems afraid, and too willing to depend on others for protection.
  7. I never suggested we should allow "carrying" a gun, in fact I said the opposite. I said we should be allowed to have one in our home. Not locked up and away from the ammo either. I never feel afraid. I would rather feel prepared. I don't have a fire extinguisher in my home because I am afraid of a fire, I have one so I am prepared for a fire.
  8. Actually I wasn't suggesting the psycho would use a gun, I was thinking he had a knife, a bat, or maybe an axe. He then would find out that he was bringing the wrong weapon to a gunfight. If someone breaks into my house in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night where my family is sleeping, I think it is fairly safe to assume their intentions are not honourable. Having a gun within my reach and the clip at hand could ensure that some psycho can't get close enough to me or my family to use his axe, knife, or bat. It at least gives us a fighting chance against an intruder who may have a gun aquired legally or illegally. Education and training on the uses and dangers of firearms is pretty standard from a very young age in rural areas like the one I live in. We learn to use the tools we need to protect our animals from predators, no reason we shouldn't also be able to protect our humans.
  9. I agree mostly with this except that I think everybody should be able to have a gun IN THEIR HOME.(unless they have a history of violence or mental instability) Nobody should be allowed to walk around carrying one in a city except cops. Where you store the gun and bullets in your own home is no business of the state. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a gun in your home for protection if you have to have it locked up and the bullets stored seperately. It would take cops half an hour to drive to my house if I had to call them. By that time some psycho could have killed my whole family. why shouldn't I be able to keep my gun in my headboard of my bed, with a full clip, where it will actually do some good? I don't like violations of civil liberties from either side of the political spectrum.
  10. Rime of the Ancient Mariner -Iron Maiden 13:35
  11. It doesn't help that the crime minister regularly lies about it.
  12. Are we allowed to use the terms racist or bigot in this thread, because if not there isn't much to say about it.
  13. lol funny thread this one. I actually think that in the interest of free speech and expression, those words are perfectly acceptable to me. Even insults should be allowed. People will quickly see that those that quickly resort to insults probably don't have anything intelligent to add to the conversation. when people say racist or bigoted things they should be prepared to be called out for it. They can try to make the case that they are not racist or bigoted and readers can hear both sides and draw their own conclusions. but I don't make the rules, its not my house. We are all guests here. My folks taught me to be respectful of other people's rules when I am a guest in their house.
  14. Just havin some fun. I didn't actually hear that, lol
  15. I heard most of the private sector jobs were in moving companies, helping clean up and move all the offices and retailers that are going out of business, and to move stuff from people's homes into storage facilities after the banks forclosed on their mortgages.
  16. smallc you used to seem a lot less blindly partisan, what happened? I can't believe that you would put aside your logical brain and let the CPC off the hook for this so easily. There are plenty on this board that I fully expect that from, but I thought better of you. This sleaze can not be defended. They lied to the Canadian people in parliament and in an election campaign. That is crystal clear to anyone who takes off their blue goggles and looks at the situation objectively.
  17. No legislation should be allowed to pass when the "majority" is the product of election fraud. These Conservatives are a disgusting blight on our democracy. We now know that they knew the costs of the F-35s were much higher than they told Canadians during the election campaign, and they chose to lie about the costs during the campaign. More contempt of the Canadian people. Disgusting lying crooks.
  18. The Libs had years of majority governments to decrim or legalize if they really wanted to, but they don't. The NDP and the vast majority of its membership do support legalization and regulation. Going to the liberals who have proven they won't do something because you suspect the NDP won't do it seems pretty ridiculous to me.
  19. I guess a police state isn't enough for herr Harper, he needs a full on military dick-tatorship.
  20. I'm just happy to have Emily Murphy off the 50. Now I don't have to deface our currency with the words "racist B#tch" every time I get a 50.
  21. yeah just let the Conservative Crime minister investigate his own party, and cops investigate themselves when they are accused of wrongdoing. I'm sure both will work really hard to get to the bottom of their crimes. (so that they can cover them up more effectively) Maybe we should turn over all organized crime investigations to the president of the Hell's Angels too?
  22. What absolute bullshit. So it is worse to steal a rich man's car than a poor man's car? Typical Conservative logic. As long as the rich aren't affected by new laws because they can afford lawyers to find loopholes and technicalities, we can pass all the laws we want eh? You can bet that the rich won't be affected by mandatory minimum laws like the working class will.
  23. Treason! Please send these neanderthals back to their caves!
  24. I don't believe that any Canadian government has EVER spent so much taxpayer money on self promotion, nor run such blatanty partisan advertising on the taxpayer dime. Also pumping up the output of ads everytime they are in trouble stinks of propaganda, paid for by the very people they are trying to hoodwink. I don't remember ever seeing a Liberal party logo paraded about on giant sized government cheques when they announced funding for community infrastructure projects.
