  1. http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/s...29-04102a6c74d4 This is said without proof and as Pierre Paquette of the Bloc says from the quoted article: Pierre Paquette of the Bloc Québécois says Mr. Harper underestimates the sovereigntist movement at his own peril: The word 'Quebecois' as never been properly defined by parliament, to exactly who or to what group this word srtictly applies to. The undemocratic imposed 'Quebec as a nation within Canada' bit serves no Canadian, democratic political justice or satisfaction and only appeases the mind of scheming politicians. This blog accurately describes a potential political disaster: http://www.confeederation.ca/election2006/...-canada-nothing
  2. D'ont be silly August, as you very well know Quebec is not a country but a province, like ALL other provinces in Canada and you also know Quebec cannot cut it alone as it requires an abudance of federal resouces to support its obsolete linguistic fantasies and culture. I gather this is a threat. Do you actually believe that the U.S. would sit on its hands, to protect its interest in Canada, in the event of a Quebec uprising against the ROC? How long to you think Quebecers would last cut off from everything?
  3. Delusional Canadians will always vote for 'freebies' or something for nothing. Harpers progress in Quebec illustrates this.
  4. This was not the first time Mr. Godin interjected in a linguistic fashion as a French sympathizer. Doesn't look that way. In fact he can't keep his nose out of Quebec politics otherwise he would have simply advised Quebec officials about the problem and stay out of the linguistics scene, period.
  5. Language falls under provincial jurisdiction not federal and I don't remember being part of a referendum approving or disapproving federal linguistic intervention. You can write whatever you choose on your dollars but the fact remains the federal linguistic policy is racist.
  6. To bad Mr. Godin isn't as concerned about Quebec stonewalling the 'Charter of Rights and Freedoms for years and years with the 'notwithstanding clause' to avoid any bilingual commitment to the FREE use of English in that province. Mr. Godin it appears is a hypocrite. http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/s...2753766&p=1
  7. Nice to know the federal government is pro-French and again, ignores the English minority in Quebec. But what is even dumber is the feds are using mainly majority English Canadian tax dollars to support a racist policy. This of course means supporting the French language as English needs no formal linguistic introduction. http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/s...9252d81&p=1
  8. If it displaces Canada's domestic workforce, yes it is bad.
  9. Don't blame BP. Blame Husky energy and it's Husky's Sunrise tar sands project owned by the Hong Kong based billionaire Li Ka-Shing. I say we should kick BOTH out of the country.
  10. There is no magic bullet. There will always be poorer provinces and richer ones, just like in the U.S. with poorer states and richer states. Don't worry the Atlantic provinces get to eat a lot of the freebie doughnuts and have been for years. Regional disparities have not been as bleak as you paint them. http://www.canadianalternative.com/gettoknow/regions.cfm
  11. What about the many U.S. particle spewing coal generating plants? http://www.environmentaldefense.org/pressr...?ContentID=3836
  12. You make no sense and don't have a link to prove what you saying, but I can prove what I am saying. http://www.ec.gc.ca/acidrain/acidfact.html
  13. It makes no sense to sign on to anything unless the U.S. signs on. U.S. pollution is blown into Canada.
  14. Does not matter where I live. I know who has been demanding asymmetrical federalism ( don't you) more than any other province and where this will lead Canada. Down the tube. The federal government should know how to answer the regionalism question with a plain NO.
  15. Regionalism is an immense influence? All regionalism does is further fragments the country, destroying the nature of federalism by undemocratically redistributing political power and influence, to provinces that in some cases are not even federalist initially. Besides regionalism constitutionally speaking, means zilch. We need strong federal leadership.
  16. Canada already is a country of an advanced stage of social development, IOW, a civilized country. If you wish to be critical of Canadians who are critical of uncivilized immigrants, the least you can do, is use the proper vocabulary to describe whatever you are trying say.
  17. Certainly the Queen should be invited. It was the British who gave Quebec a culture through the Quebec Act. Why does Quebec not acknowledge this?
  18. Some see Canada as an evolving country of uncivilized immigrants. Don't you?
  19. That's what I said "emotionally charged". Love is an emotion, but to most people cannot even be defined, making love a rather nonsensical meaningless word to a direct universal definition. Enough to murder that person? Latimer sounds deranged and does need counseling.
  20. Easy but dumb. I guess your husband never heard of imperial measurements in 1/16", 1/32", 1/64", 1/128" or 1/1000's of an inch. How much more accurate do you want than that???? Next time you go out a buy milk or a box of soap and other items, look and you will observe there is no weight but is measured by volume. Who the hell ever measured miles by yards in everyday life? How much is 1/2 a mile, .5 miles. Simple eh. Cutting things down to the smallest increment with a ruler, usually millimeters, require magnavision and is impossible to read unless you use calipers. Two mm of rain would not even be worth reporting or would be reported as light rain only. You are going to extremes, unless of course you are a meterologist. It does? Water freezing at '0', exaggerates colder temperatures and as a result everyone not only feels colder but is more likely to use more energy to compensate for the perceived colder centigrade temperatures. Give this tip to GOVERNMENT or the hydro, oil and gas companies and they will no doubt, if seriously thinking about conservation, switch back to fahrenheit.
  21. Why don't you ask the administrators the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and other Canadian lending institutions who made risky investment in the volatile U.S. mortgage market. Greed always finds a way. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...mp;refer=canada
  22. No, we are not officially metric. Everything metric is conveniently converted back to imperial in most cases to accommodate Canadians and their imperial aspirations. Why is this if we are officially metric? What bearing for instance does ridiculous c.c.'s (cubic centimeters) have to do with horsepower when purchasing anything powered by a gasoline engine when specifically power is the important criteria? How much more accurate do you have to be than 15/16" when slicing through a piece of wood when the blade thickness of virtually all power saws is 1/16" of an inch? What relationship is litres, a measurement of volume when you want rather want to know the weight? Who cares about the meaningless volume. Speedometers in automobiles are calibrated in both metric and imperial. Why is this if we are officially metric? I could go on but you should get the picture that North America is much different and modern than old Europe and imperial caters to Canadian and U.S. requirements much more efficiently than metric.
  23. It seems you still don't understand an emotionally charged individual like Latimer "not being able to handle it". Understand it, the man has a problem. He does not own the child and the pain is not his. Get over it, life is not risk free.
  24. August, with the pink, socialist liberals around what other choice does an intelligent Canadian have with the Conservatives closely following suit, but live politics in your own mind to the likings of a more democratic country than the one we live in and hope Canadians will finally see the light and be a little more independent and fight back, rather than allow themselves to be socially engineered by MORONS.
