If someone or a group of decided to give me an unwanted haircut I will see it as a big deal too... if my girlfriend dumped me and I decided to throw her on the ground hold her down and shave her head I should be punished, do that do 9 people and 15 years seems like a little to light of a sentence.

I don't see what the problem with this decision... there is a law and they broke it so they should be punished.

Then what ere you advocating? Obama going in himself? The whole blame Obama for every incident around the world wether or not he is responsible is getting old, he had few options in this case and your status suggest you hold him responsible for not acting without actually suggesting how he could have acted differently.

Sending Special Forces in to a country without their permission is an invasion plain and simple, sending SF in would have ended badly as they would have had to fight their way in and possibly fight their way out of Algeria through the Algerian Army if they even got close enough to the objective. If the US went in to Algeria without the permission of the government then that would allow any government to send SF to any country in similar situations.

The difference is that one is a terrorist and obviously hidden by the nation in question with little hope of getting them to act, the other was an event in a nation that was dealing with the situation at hand to the best of their abilities, invading Algeria would just add more legitimacy to the terrorist organizations that the Algerian Government is fighting... Possibly save some of the 30 casualties but in the long run cost hundreds if not thousands of deaths...

Would you still hold this opinion if chinese nationals were held hostage in Canada or the US and the Chinese military send their special Forces in to the US or Canada without permission?

There is a slight difference between going after bin Laden in Pakistan and invading Algeria to free a few Americans at the risk of thousands of others. Algeria is an independent nation and was dealing with the problem using all means at their disposal, if the US had forced themselves on the Algerians it would have been the worst action possible.

And what was he to do? Send in the SEAL's without a request by Algeria?

How exactly was he right? Should foreign companies invest exclusively in the US? Any investment outside the US is considered as costing American jobs? If we disregard the fact that they are not shifting jobs from the US to China but expanding their production in China to meet the demand we can see Romney as being right, but if we use the facts he is wrong...

Well can you blame gun owners? When an event like this happens the gun control crowd goes crazy and blames the tool rather than the act or desire. You can have two identical nations one with every citizen owning an assault rifle and incidents of violence few and far between and another with no firearms outside the hands of police and military and having daily incidents of violence such as this. Gun control is part of the solution but is not the solution in and of itself.
