  1. Wish him well? Yes! The Rest of West's post is ludicrous!
  2. I didn't say mostly, liar. But I don't keep the curtains drawn and post biased garbage 24 hrs a day like you do so I see that there are housing shortages in rural and semi-rural areas too. I've come to expect that level of conversation from you. Simple-minded.... Remember you're the guy who thinks 120 divided by 4 gives a smaller number than 120 divided by 5. Sorry you can't do fractions. And: "One of the lowest population per square foot ratios in the entire universe, we're not full. And we do need an increasing population. It has a large number of benefits not to mention the least of which is we are not taken all that seriously as a market because we don't have that many people. The reason the US has so much clout on the world stage economically is because they've got 400,000 people that buy goods. We have a tenth of that even though our country is technically larger. As we expand our market base earning the right to do business with us becomes more and more important to other players and that's valuable. We also increase our own domestic market and it makes it more practical for businesses to start up and manufacture things to sell within Canada because there's more people to buy them. But while it is an obvious benefit the simple fact of the matter is we don't need to rush to it at light speed." Feb 1 1, 2025. I said: "And Canada needs a much larger population. (Largest country in the world with a population about the size of Tokyo) Needs to be done in a sustainable way, of course, but would create better internal markets..." Do you ever actually think for yourself or just parrot other people and pretend you're being original?
  3. Talk about puerile. You think the housing shortage is only downtown metropolitan areas? Add naivete to your resume. Now you're talking about Soviet style '5-year plans'. Do you think the US got the large population you just said was good, that way? No. It was messy and not a result of central planning. Obviously now we need control over immigration, but it's never going to be a case of "Ok - we just built 5 million homes. Let's bring in 5 million immigrant families." You should be wise enough to know that life doesn't work out that conveniently. Now you sound like you're ill-informed. Immigration was a small contributor to our inflation problems. And your logic is fallacious. Just because 2 things happen at the same time doesn't mean one caused the other.
  4. Of course not. That would be ridiculous. Immigration is tied to a country's needs. Not downtown but in the suburbs you can. And developers are building apt. bldgs at a pretty good rate now. Been hearing that fear-mongering for 60 years, and I'm sure it pre-dates me. ???????? Sounds like something I would say.
  5. No, it seems more like your ignorance is your bliss.
  6. Oh yeah, you select few are going to Heaven while the rest of us will burn for eternity 'cause we didn't buy your superstitious claptrap? When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion. (Robert M. Pirsig)
  7. We will always be playing catch-up with housing and medicine. We aren't going to lower immigration to zero, or bring in a one family, one child law. But I think we are at the beginning of mitigating the housing problem. Going to take a few years.
  8. A budget takes months to prepare in normal times. These ain't normal times. With a recent election, summer break, etc... Sept. would be the earliest time for a budget. But budgets are based on predictions and assumptions. How do you make economic predictions with the Orange Turd changing his mind every couple of days (50 changes to tariffs since Trump brought them in according to Abby Philips Newsnight pundits). If the tariff mess is cleaned up, we still might see a budget this fall. I hope so.
  9. Getting back on topic - Why didn't Poilievre pick an Ontario riding, since they're trying to make inroads in Ontario? Surely one of those seats would have been safe enough. As it is he's strengthening the idea they're still just a regional party. I see PP took another leaf out of Trump's playbook by showing up at the UFC. Might win a few young votes, but the young don't vote in large numbers, and anything even remotely Trumpish could hurt him again. Seems to me both Poilievre and Danielle Smith have painted themselves into a bit of a corner with their base. Between PP telling us 'Canada is broken' for years and Smith basing her entire governing philosophy on bashing the federal gov't, how do they now tell that base to stick with Canada, which is what they'll have to say. That's going to p!ss off some Albertans. And what about a leadership review for the Conservatives? Sure, they gained some seats, but they still lost a 4th election in a row. From 27 points up, to a loss - gotta' be some grumbling about that.
  10. Lazy? It's spring. Lots to do and I like having a life off the internet. Besides, "Brevity is the soul..."
  11. So let me get this straight. If I say only "Trump is an A$$hole.", you can't just disagree - you have to have proof or at least an argument that he isn't. One side can have opinions but the other side needs proof. That sum it up?
  12. How could there be only one with the wrong address? Wouldn't they print these in batches? Or am I missing something?
  13. You didn't read his post that I quoted, did you? No argument, no proof, just a couple of opinions I disagreed with. I'm quite right to call you both out on that, and you are perfectly capable of articulating a position when you try, so do better than that.
  14. What the hell are you even talking about? Look at your last post in this thread.
  15. No. You made a statement (that was just opinion) with no proof. I disagreed. It's your move. Are you able to follow the posts or do you need some help?
  16. You gotta buy me a really good dinner before you get your fantasy, even if it's just in your twisted little mind.
  17. The Emperor part is his 'new clothes'. Need some kid (or Republican, same thing) to point it out.
  18. Well, isn't that nice for him..... It's so nice to see challenged people like him achieving small goals.
  19. I think you're confused with the difference between 'small c' and 'large c' conservatives.
  20. What Canadians, east and west, revere is good government, which in this age is a mix of basic freedoms, capitalism, and socialized programs that benefit the many and protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. These are thing you'll find in almost every every rich democracy.
