According to reports from the Secret Service and Montgomery County Police, after interviewing his sister: • His manifesto directly targeted officials from the Trump administration. • His social media was saturated with anti-Trump and anti-Christian hate. • His own brother alerted police in Connecticut after Allen sent the manifesto to the family before the attack. • He trained regularly at a shooting range, was a member of the political group “The Wide Awakes,” and attended the “No Kings” protest in California. • He had a history of radical statements and constantly repeated that he was going to “do something” to “fix” the world. • He bought two pistols and a shotgun, and hid them in the family home without his parents knowing. This was no lone madman or a spur-of-the-moment act. It was a man who wrote a manifesto, armed himself, trained, radicalized himself in a political group, participated in protests, and crossed the country to execute his ideology with bullets. A full-fledged political terrorist.

Yes, if you watch the press conference it's very clear - the SPLC set up fake companies with real bank accounts, and created fake hate groups to give the impression that "rampant hate" existed when it in fact did not exist. They then leveraged these fake hate groups to generate huge donations, which were then funneled into salaries for employees of the SPLC. Quite the racket.
