Only a cretin looks down on substitute teachers. I didn't want a career in business. Not a good fit. My first teaching job was English and composition at a small community college. Wasn't too happy with the politics involved, and the pay wasn't as good as substitute teaching for Orange County. (This goes back to 1999.) Substitute teaching is not my only job, by the way. I do well in the other career, but learned from experience not to share that career on political message boards, especially then the pre pubescent NAZIS found was to show up at my job and put on a show. I would have gone into law. (It was pretty simple, not having a lot of math.) But lawyers mostly are ass holes. Who wants to go to work every day with that element? What works for me is the knowledge that I'm part of the best education system in the country best schools, best teachers and smartest state government. I could certify and teach full time. I've been offered the job many times. But it's not where I want to be. And I don't think I could put up with the schitt the other teachers put up with, from bureaucrats to helicopter parents. I just don't have the patience. It's also what I don't post here that often. (besides not having the time.) I can take only so much stupidity. At least school kids have an excuse.

They saw me burn through the tests. I was a master test taker, all throughout college. They also saw how much more intelligent I was in class than they were. They knew I was smoking their Woke asses.

A couple of items: 1. I didn't see the half a mil amount in the article you listed. I did see where the victim was forced to pay $37,000 of Shawn's legal defenses. But again, the victim had a pretty good career, making six figures a year. And for regular divorce cases, (unless the lawyer runs in deep pocket circles) an average family law attorney won't get too many cases if he/she charges a half a mil in fees. I do agree that some families are better off split up. (Part of me is wondering if the victim had a father who was still living or some older brothers, who (from a John Grisham novel scenario) would take this creep out back and beat the living crap out of him.) 2. Let that first grade kid seriously injure another kid, and EVERYBODY will treat him like an animal. And the school will wind up on the hook for a HUGE lawsuit. You took a chance by trying to be a social worker. I admire your courage, because in that situation I wouldn't have been so generous. Then again, the REAL animals sometimes appear at grades 3 through 6. (I've seen them while subbing.) Their parents don't give a rat's ass and they will wind up committing felonies soon enough, maybe even aggravated battery. First grade there is the possibility for intervention. But the parent has to step up, poor or not. Because I needed a science class (and a good laugh) in college, I wound up taking a useless sociology course. You can imagine how I shocked the class when they began talking about the purpose of the criminal justice system. Most of the limp wristed snowflakes there pontificated about how prisons are supposed to rehabilitate the unfortunate victims of society who had the misfortune of getting caught committing rape, burglaries or muggings. I turned every head in the class when I said the criminal justice system exists for one purpose: To protect the public. I made enemies of pretty much every limp wrist in that class. (Pissed them off even worse when I got the highest grade in the class.) I don't view public schools or prisons as some noble cause to better mankind and "change the world." Public schools are supposed to educate the public. Prisons are supposed to protect the public from the animals. Simple as that. That little first grader is the luckiest kid of all time. People like you intervened. I PRAY he earns that trust and doesn't do something that makes you regret taking that step.

I have ALWAYS agreed that there is systematic racism and it will always exist so long as there is a Democrat Party. Blue states are the most RACIST places on the planet. First reaction I could make would be for The Donald to FIRE the man in charge of his personal marketing and image. And where in the name of ZEUS'S BUTTHOLE were his kids when he pulled this stunt? I'm starting to wonder if this thing is even real. Reason I ask is Trump doesn't look as old as when he was running for president. This might have occurred before he even thought about running. But anything is possible in video editing. Also, you can't tell me the Democrats wouldn't have flashed that video EVERY day of the campaign he ran against Hillary. Hell, the Democrats continued to flash Jan 6 on every headline and Trump wasn't even running this year. So this is suspect on its face.

I agree with you that racism is not over, nor will it be any time soon, not as long as there are Democrats. I'm also a bit put out by candidates who run based on their being lesbians. If they somehow believe their sexual preference is a resume enhancer, then those who vote for them are moe rons. Democrats probably won't be losing too many elections, since they have figured out how to keep counting votes and adding votes until they win.

There's a reason why certain people drive Mercedes and certain people drive used Buicks. But you've got me curious. Has there been a case in California where an animal beat his wife, went to prison and then was awarded alimony from her when he got out? Gee! I wonder how a prisoner could have afforded a lawyer powerful and skillful enough to accomplish that. I'm not saying it's impossible, (especially with the left wing woke meth head judges in California, all appointed by left wing wok meth head Democrats). It's very possible. And if you apply it fairly, then you are calling a bunch of black teachers racist. At inner city schools. (and I sub at quite a few) they dish out punishment, as much as the law allows. If they were allowed to use a belt, they would ALL show up to work with one and for the first week, those babes would be swinging. After that, the school would resemble a monastery, as far as behavior goes. I occasionally get in trouble with fellow conservatives because I don't instantly condemn the TEACHERS. (Part of that is because I'm in Florida, which has the best public schools and the best teachers.) I know. Conservatives assume all teachers are unionized, lazy, loud mouthed, left wing, and ineffective. From 1999 to the present, I have depended on teachers to show my how to do my job, without making it look like I have no idea what I'm doing. I basically sit in the teachers' lounge during lunch and take a couple of shutup pills and listen to them. For decades I've studied the lesson plans and followed them. I've compared schools (which is interesting because there are no two schools alike in Florida.) And I know a lot about the system. I used to think the concept of a "Helicopter Parent" was a bullshit liberal excuse for a teacher not doing his/her job. After the first ten years as a sub, I realized that outside of beltway bureaucrats who add to the paperwork while doing NOTHING useful at all in education, the true enemies of education are negligent parents who refuse to civilize their little hellhounds. A teacher's job is not to raise the kid. A teacher's job is to teach. Yes, I've subbed for a few bad teachers, who were suspended for various infractions. Not ALL teachers are saints. But the vast majority of them are dedicated public servants who know the job and put up with a lot of crap. Oh, and when it comes to kids being hell hounds, disrupting classrooms and acting like barbarians, RACE is rarely a factor. I've worked predominately white schools where those animals are just as crazy as the black schools. I have noticed that Asian students are quieter and more conscientious. (Most of them.) And in some Latin schools, the kids are very well behaved, mostly because their parents would kick the shit out of them if they acted out. But RACE is not a factor. There are negligent parents of all races, and there are hellhound brats of all races. They have to be controlled. It's as simple as that.

This is when hiring a good family law attorney is important. It is sometimes a very unfair world. Family law courts don't always rule in the best interests of the children, as much as they try. I"d be curious as to which state courts are prohibited from considering domestic violence as a factor in alimony. But remember, alimony is a different creature from child support. One is at the discretion of a judge. The other is statutory.
