That means spending where the taxpayers get value for their dollars. So far the American budget allots around percent of its budget to Discretionary spending. Entitlement spending is everything else, where checks are written to those (like you liberals) who produce NOTHING but greenhouse gasses every time you wake up. I can't speak for other states (other than to point out their education systems are inferior to Florida's system) but teacher pay in Florida is mostly determined at the COUNTY level. Some funds come from Tallahassee, but MOST teacher pay is determined by the county, and usually comes from property taxes. Makes sense. The inner city run down ghetto schools are financed by ramshackle worn down trailer parks with absentee owners and renters. The new modern state of the art schools usually are financed in areas with waterfront mansions, or other high cost real estate.

DeSantis is the finest governor in the history of Florida. Right now he is the best governor in the entire United States. Right now, Florida has the best economy in the country and our state budget is in SURPLUS, and we do not have a state income tax. All highly taxed blue states have budget deficits (from mostly their WELFARE spending) and the cost of living there is prohibitive. It takes a superior governor (and an educated state legislature) to keep a state in such excellence. Most of us in Florida do NOT want him to go after Trump in 24, because we don't want to give him up until the rest of his term. He is that good. Actually, Los Angeles is one long strip mall. (This one is built on a continental shelf that one good tsunami will send it to Davy Jones locker.) In the late Seventies, (and this was after I read Sugar Blues, by William Dufty, and completely swore off all white sugar) I did the vegetarian thing for about a month.
