That is stupid and ignorant. The top EARNERS PAY MOST OF THE TAXES NOW. https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2011/09/21/only_the_rich_pay_taxes/ There is new data for 2001. The share of total income taxes paid by the top 1% fell to 33.89% from 37.42% in 2000. This is mainly because their income share (not just wages) fell from 20.81% to 17.53%. However, their average tax rate actually rose slightly from 27.45% to 27.50%. *Data covers calendar year 2001, not fiscal year 2001 – and includes all income, not just wages, excluding Social Security Here's an original idea: CUT 963 BILLION from Democrat SPENDING, most of which goes to buy votes from the stupid. Tax increases ALWAYS hurt the economy and result in less revenues. Unelected Joe raised taxes and he has the HIGHEST deficits of all time.

HERE'S why gun control fails
reason10 replied to reason10's topic in State Politics in the United States
That is a LIE. That suggests that there are no gun laws in America. There are PLENTY of gun laws here, most of which are useless. And criminals STEAL guns, sell them on the streets, etc, so gun laws are no deterrent for the professional criminal. Like the moe ronz in Canada, the gun laws are tilted towards people who obey the law. (With the exception of 10-20-LIFE in Florida). There is no such thing as a law abiding criminal. -
https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/biden-latest-surrender-public-safety-risk Biden's latest surrender on public safety puts us all at risk It’s hard to think of anything new and clever to say about how bad the Biden administration is on public safety issues, but it must be said. On December 16, 2022, Merrick Garland of the Biden Justice Department issued a memorandum to all federal prosecutors entitled, "Additional Department Policies Regarding Charging, Pleas, and Sentencing in Drug Cases." In the memo, Garland directs his line attorneys across the country to try to avoid charging offenders with crimes that carry mandatory minimums—especially when the underlying crimes are drug crimes. His reasoning? "The perceived and actual racial disparities in the criminal justice system." This reckless rhetoric, pushed by Obama and Biden, has made our country a far more dangerous place to live. Points to ponder: 1. There are ZERO racial disparities in the criminal justice system. There are LAWS against this. If more blacks are being arrested, it's because MORE BLACKS ARE COMMITTING CRIMES. 2. MInimum sentences were requested by city fathers. A lot of these inner city fathers are BLACK. And black leaders WANT more police presence in their neighborhoods. 3. More BLACKS are hurt by lenient sentences than whites. As Kamala the Ungandan Giant once said As Vice President Kamala Harris recently observed, "black people are 13% of America’s population, but make up 62% of America’s homicide victims." A report by the national Center for Victim Research found that "the overall risk of violent victimization is highest among persons who are younger, male, black, living in the poorest households, and living in urban areas." And make no mistake, drug crime is violent crime. So, in addition to making gasoline cost more, fueling runaway inflation, opening the borders to whatever animals want to come in and get a welfare check, the Unelected Joe regime is now making the country less safe.

Nope. There was no such thing as Covid parties during Spring Break. Another dumb ass LIE. I looked up the story and it was only reported by left wing fake news rags. I LIVE HERE. I live close to a spring break area. There were no such parties reported. But there WAS an instance of MASS MURDER by NY Governor Cuomo, who allowed Covid infected people in NURSING HOMES, resulting in mass deaths of the elderly. Didn't happen in Florida, even though Florida has more old people than any other state in the union. Our superior governor made sure that what happened in New Yorks Concentration Camp nursing homes would not happen here. We have huge elderly communities: Sun City Center, the Villages. No mass Obama Virus casualties.

They claim it's a victory for Red Flag laws. https://www.yahoo.com/news/florida-school-received-threat-did-125756250.html A Florida School Received a Threat. Did a Red Flag Law Prevent a Shooting? FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Seagull Alternative High School sits behind locked gates and a chain-link fence, a complex of low-slung buildings that provides an academic home for pregnant teenagers and students at risk of dropping out. On a Tuesday in early October, it was a target of the kind of threat that every school official dreads. “I just might come to yo school and kill everybody,” a 17-year-old who had previously attended the school wrote in an Instagram message to a student, according to police records. He singled out the principal and a behavioral specialist and sent a chilling photograph: a handgun and an assault rifle, splayed out on a bed, with Seagull Alternative High School written across the top of the image. Informed of the threat, law enforcement officials in Fort Lauderdale moved quickly. Making use of Florida’s so-called red flag law, the police obtained an order from a judge allowing them to remove any guns in the young man’s possession. I'm not sure one would need a special red flag law. If a kid ANYWHERE in America sends in a threat on social media, that kid is going to get a visit from law enforcement. I'm sorry, and I know it's going to sound like I'm a gun grabber myself, but if you take a picture of multiple firearms on your bed and then send in a mass school shooting THREAT through social media, you're not right in the head. There's no "I was just kidding" bullshittt here. This school is called an "alternative" school. I subbed at one of those, where the kids are just trying to graduate high school. (And yes, some pregnant students attend to get their diplomas.) Of course, the school I subbed at had a separate section for kids with major behavioral problems, and some with felony records. My first day on the job on one assignment wound up me having to help another teacher break up a cat fight. In my county, this would be listed as a Charter School. And yes, Charter schools are usually in the public school system. (For those who don't know, a cat fight is a fight between two females.) I'd say this school is very lucky. Last time guns were introduced into a Broward public school, a lazy assed sheriff wouldn't allow his deputies to go in and an excessive number of students were gunned down. (Broward County is the JOKE of Florida, anyway.)

The Florida STOP WOKE ACT

So FREEING BLACK SLAVES, giving them the right to vote, NONE of that is civil rights? Your RACIST democrats voted AGAINST the Civil Rights Act. The LONGEST filibuster in history went to Strom Thurman, DEMOCRAT who spoke out AGAINST the Civil Rights Act. https://www.history101.com/august-28-1957-strom-thurmond-civil-rights-act/ Without Republicans, that law never would have gotten passed. And to hear blacks talk today about how bad they've got it, you'd think there was NO civil rights act at all. -

It IS a stupid lie. Americans have gun laws. NO American state will sell a gun to a convicted felon, a minor, an illegal alien, at least not in gun stores. People EVERYWHERE sell guns illegally. Our unelected racist pedophile president just traded a KNOWN GUN RUNNER for a lesbian basketball player who was doping in Russia and got caught. -

So you are saying Dr. King supported a RACIST. This is the SAME racist who was vice president to the man whose Attorney General put wiretaps on Dr. KIng's phone. Republicans SPEARHEADED the civil rights movement. It was the DEMOCRATS who created the Jim Crow laws. -

Gun laws only apply to gun owners who OBEY THE LAW. No one seems to care about guns in the hands of criminals. -
Having laws on the books mean NOTHING if the population is too stupid to follow them. https://www.foxnews.com/us/indiana-man-arrested-video-showed-young-child-playing-gun Indiana man arrested after video showed young child playing with gun An Indiana man was arrested over the weekend after a boy, reportedly his son, was seen wielding and pointing a gun outside their apartment unit. Shane Osborne, 45, a resident of the Indianapolis suburb of Beech Grove, faces a charge of felony neglect of a child dependent. The arrest was captured on the reality TV show called "On Patrol: Live," which follows law enforcement officers on duty. Authorities responded Saturday to a 911 call made by a neighbor in the apartment building where the child was holding the weapon in a hallway. Here's the law: https://www.nraila.org/gun-laws/state-gun-laws/indiana/ It is generally unlawful to sell or otherwise transfer possession of a handgun to a person under 18 except if the gun comes from the juvenile’s parent or guardian.

Not all gun laws are ridiculous. Florida Governor Jeb Bush (the man who rescued this state from a lousy Democrat run economy and the worst schools in the country) gave us the best gun control laws of all time. And they TARGET the problem. The law is 10-20-LIFE. Bring a gun to a crime and you get 10 years mandatory. FIRE that gun during a crime and you get 20 years mandatory. If you hit someone when you fire that gun, mandatory LIFE sentence. As you might have guessed, the PRO CRIME Democrats hated this law. Only a NAZI wants to keep guns away from law abiding citizens.

I can tell the liberals here do not know anything at all. If masks were all that prevented the Obama virus from spreading, there would have been MASSIVE numbers of student deaths in the state of Florida. Getting those rug rats to keep those masks on (and so many of the little mo rons would wear the mask around their chins) was a daily chore. If the Obama Virus were THAT prevalent, ALL those kids would be dead. After a while, the teachers decided the masks were doing more harm than good, since they were taking up too much class time trying to keep the masks on those kids' noses. And suddenly (after the Obama Virus screws up the economy and helps get a racist pedophile illegally elected president) suddenly the Obama virus is no longer a major threat. Somehow, liberals aren't terrified at even the mention of the disease. These days anyone wearing a mask is a more on.

The climate has changed in the past. Nobody is denying that. At one time, the state of Florida was completely under water. At one time there was a land bridge that connected Russia to Alaska (which is where all those Indians came from way back when) The climate CAN change. That is science. Suggesting human activity in the UNITED STATES ALONE (since you snowflakes want to ignore CHINA'S fossil fuel world) can change the climate of a planet that is mostly WATER is just plain ignorant.
