  1. And you pretending the plain language is layered, nuanced or otherwise deserving of deep exploration doesn't make it so. It's just sophistry, meant to defend the indefensible.
  2. 1. Social standards change all the time. There is no bright line. Shame is the mechanism of enforcement. If you take up two seats, pay for two tickets. Fair is fair. And there are plenty of emotionally healthy ways to opt out of your relationship with another person for any number of reasons, including the number of partners. 2. Some speech may merit legal action (government) but most does not. Again, you can think of obvious examples that constitute threats or incitement of violence. 3. Hating the individual who is your ex-wife is just that. It's not hate speech to hate the person who has done things to you. It's personal dynamics. You're not terrorizing a marginalized group. I can think of a few horrible-ish things I said as a kid. I grew up. I was a pretty good kid with decent parents who didn't preach hate, so nothing truly awful, but some things I'm ashamed of in retrospect and wouldn't want publicized now. But that's the difference, isn't it. I grew up. I learned right and wrong. I learned the power of words and I learned that casually hurting people is not smart or funny or hip or cool. It's just cruel. Strickland should hear the criticism and grow from it. Chances are, at his age, it's not a lack of knowledge, but a deliberate choice. And in that case people who look up to him should get the message that he's flawed and wrong and perhaps not worthy of their admiration. That's the purpose of shaming.
  3. Great, so we can dispense with any pretense that this is anything other than what it is--a jackass publicly saying awful things--and return to the topic as desired. So this particular jackass is engaging in hate speech, yet is also free to speak, yet is also not free from social consequences--positive or negative. Put a bow on it.
  4. That's not accurate. Trump severely restricted legal immigration in his last term (while illegal immigration increased) and his plans if he is reelected seem to me more extreme. Trump Cuts Legal Immigrants By Half And He’s Not Done Yet
  5. Lol. I don't think there's any mystery there. This is not secretly sophisticated speech which much be teased out and un-puzzled. It's exactly what it appears to be.
  6. Yes, not solely because it hurts people's feelings, but also because it is purely negative. There is no upside. It's not meant to be a helpful hard truth. It's cruel for the sake of being cruel about an attribute which cannot even be controlled or changed. Much like denigrating people because of skin color.
  7. I already did. Was that not sufficient? If someone says that having a gay child equates to failure on the part of the parent/father, that's extremely hurtful to parents of gay children, whom Strickland has denounced as failures and to the children themselves, whose innate quality has resulted in the failure of their parents. It casts being gay as being wrong or bad. And we're talking about an innate attribute that has historically been subjected to a lot of hate, violence and other misery. We're really just coming out of that period, but the history is still raw and ender. From a logic perspective what he's said is about as dumb as saying "If my child has red hair, I will have failed as a man." From an emotional perspective, what he's said is about as awful as "If my child is born a [n-word] I will have failed as a man." The logic is bad, but the deliberate emotional harm is worse.
  8. Shaming is good. It's how a society enforces decent behavior. When people do or say harmful things, they should be made to feel ashamed. I have no idea who Sean Strickland is outside the context of this conversation, but saying that having a gay son is failing as a man is a truly, awful, horrible thing to say. And society is right to push back on it. Neither parents nor children have any control over who they are attracted to. There is no choice to be made, nor is there any thing wrong with being gay. The only way you "fail" as a man and a father is to fail to give your child the love and support they need to grow into happy thriving adults. @Nationalist Free speech is in relationship to the government. It doesn't mean speech free of social consequence. Society sets those standards and those comments that are transgressive will get pushback.
  9. No, you didn't. Your cited his marketing. You have no idea what his "accomplishments" were. Nor are you willing to learn. You're simply parroting a compulsive liar.
  10. I mostly feel insulted by your lazy trolling. Even dumb people understand that one can earnestly and actively support causes without wanting to live them, or without it even being practical to live them. "You support Doctors Without Borders? Where's your medical license and why aren't you practicing orthopedics in Uganda? Hyuk hyuk." Yet you persist in repeating your trite line. It isn't clever. No one thinks it's clever. You, yourself, can't possibly imagine it's clever, incisive or illuminating. You just repeat it to be a jackass. It's frustrating that people aren't smarter, and more frustrating when those who could be treasure more pleasure in playing dumb.
  11. He is mean, old, and racist. And you citing his campaign marketing, which takes credit for things he didn't do, isn't going to change that. And as before, Black Americans are clearly more discerning than you are. They didn't fall for it. They live in this system and saw the ways--large and small--that Trump made things worse. 92%
  12. Yeah, if you acknowledge problems in the world that's what makes them real. Pull that duvet up over your eyes and stay safe!
  13. Or I could send you a massive fist-shaped dildo so you can thoroughly fark yourself. 🙄
  14. Are you having an honesty problem or a reading problem. I explicitly referred to the "Platinum Plan" by name. Educate yourself before trying to "educate" others.
  15. Shallow twaddle. I don't like war and I'm not pushing Ukrainians to fight for their freedom, but as long as they they have the hunger to be free, they have my support. I'm assuming you don't value your freedom very highly if you can't imagine wanting to fight for it.
  16. A two-page memo announced weeks before the election (early voting was already open, FFS) is not an accomplishment. It's a campaign stunt. You may be a gullible sucker for that sort of thing, but Black Americans were not. 92%. Black Americans remembered the Central Park Five, the remembers attacks on BLM, the United the Right disaster, the clansmen and neo-nazis at the Trump rallies, the Confederate flags flying. No, Black Americans were not fooled.
  17. Pull the rug out? Lol. You REALLY don't know anything about American politics. All you've done is post Trump's campaign marketing. Do you know what the "Platinum Plan" actually was? A two-page memo announced just before polls opened so that Trump could have a photo op with Lil' Wayne, because he was polling very poorly with Black Americans. Ugly, cynical and self-serving. Vintage Trump. Black Americans were not fooled as easily as you are, and they voted 92% for Biden. They know Trump's a racist and they know which party is trying to address racial inequity. And yes, we have a persistent and pervasive race problem in the US. Do you know who we have HBCUs? Because for generations Black Americans were shut out of "mainstream" higher education. They HAD to bootstrap their own.
  18. That's nonsense. The inverse of that bumfuzzled "logic" is that the economic crash at the end of his term hurt blacks, proving he was definitely racist. The state of the economy has nothing to do with whether a president is racist. Obviously. If you want to know if Trump is racist, look to his many racist comments and actions. His documented discrimination against blacks as a landlord, his full page ad calling for the death penalty for 5 black teens--even after they were acquitted. And more. It's an extensive history.
  19. That's wildly disingenuous. Trump didn't do anything specifically FOR blacks. Low general unemployment included low black unemployment. That's it. The unemployment gap between whites and blacks didn't close. It tracked the same historical levels out always does.
  20. Giving aid to a democratic ally fighting for it's existence against an aggressive autocratic enemy is not even remotely "warmongering."
  21. It was a sea of people in jackets and rain ponchos. Franklin Graham mentioned it while on stage even -- but you've been shown all this. The video debuted on Fox the same day it debuted everywhere else: the day the police released it. I showed you the breaking news story from Fox. You do not have a magic TV. You didn't have early access to the video. You just refuse to let go of the lie. There was no "gentle giant" narrative. They simply reported that a family member described him that way. And when the video was released they reported on the contrast between what friends and family said and what appeared on video-- in the same day it l appeared on Fox. It's called journalism. I expect you're unfamiliar, seeing as you watch a network of pundits.
  22. Oh, jeebus, you're back at it. Much of the audience WAS under umbrellas and raincoats you jackass. Including Melania, sitting on stage under an umbrella covered in raindrops. These pictures were posted for you many times. And you pretend again like it never happened. Thanks for pricing me 100% correct about your brainless lying. And yes, we all know about your magic TV that shows the future, you lying sack. How did you get so broken that you'll look at dated articles, know full well that everyone can see them, and still keep lying about it? 🙄
  23. True. So stop lying. You're welcome to challenge any of those facts. Pluck up the courage and pick one. But we all know you won't.
  24. 100% He's a worthless troll. Some human beings were put on the earth solely to exhale CO2 for plants. That particular example happens to live in Canada.
  25. Facts don't matter in MAGAland. Trump and Fox lied about Biden "crushing" the oil industry and no amount of data will convince those dupes that they have been lied to. No self respect.
