Or maybe it's the resentment over being constantly accused of things without evidence, or seeing our common history, which is a touchstone to our past and to the pride people feel in their nation constantly derided and insulted - again mostly without facts and always without context. Maybe it's also the tens of billions being awarded by the progressive government and progressive courts to a group of people seen as lazy loafers who do no work and pay no taxes.

Pertinent to the discussion. Glavin: Is there a triumphant Geert Wilders in Canada's future? Not yet, but ... The state-sanctioned rejection of mainstream Canadian values, coupled with strains on immigration levels, could lead us to where Europe is now. It’s not just mass immigration, however, that has caused the governing Liberals to plummet in the polls. But it’s a big deal, because mass immigration, along with the Trudeau government’s weird vision of Canada as a “post-national” state with no core values, is about as fashionable in Canada now as it is in Europe. By 2021, Statistics Canada was reporting that nearly one in four Canadians was foreign-born — the highest in the G7 and the largest proportion since Confederation. And the Trudeau government’s “diversity is our strength” jingle has grown noticeably tinny, as back-to-back polls over the past couple of weeks amply demonstrate. Canadian Judges increasing make governmental decisions

Yeahhh bullshit. You seem to have decided to shelter yourself from reality as much as possible. Let's look at a recent ruling by the appeal court which trashed a decision by Ontario's divisional court to toss out Ontario's math tests for teachers as "wacist!". The divisional court found it was WACIST! because some blacks fared worse than most whites on the test in the preliminary results. Now who were the justices on the divisional court that found the test was WACIST!? A group of progressives, of course! Their decision in the case could be reliably predicted given their backgrounds. Note the minor in French for Nishikawa. Bilingual and racalized! Defintely heading for the supreme court! Madam Justice Sandra Nishikawa was born and raised in Toronto. She received a B.A. in international relations with a minor in French from the University of Toronto, and went on to earn B.C.L. and LL.B. degrees from the Faculty of Law at McGill University. Justice Nishikawa was called to the bars of Ontario and New York in 1999. In 2009, she completed her LL.M. at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law with a thesis that examined diversity on administrative tribunals. Most recently, Justice Nishikawa was counsel at the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Madam Justice Nancy Backhouse is currently serving on the Superior Court of Justice for Ontario. Before her appointment to the bench, Justice Backhouse was a family law lawyer and labour arbitrator. She was also a bencher and chair of the Admissions and Equity Committee of the Law Society, vice-chair of the Ontario Grievance Settlement Board, and a director of the Advocates’ Society. During her time as a Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Nancy Backhouse founded the Lawyers Feed the Hungry Program with Martin Teplitsky. -
I see you've moved the borders (literally). What you said was the following: Who are you to say "Putin should let NATO troops camp out 5 hrs from Moscow"? To which I replied. Someone who operates on logic and common sense. And can read a map. The distance between NATO member Latvia and Moscow is a lot shorter. It is 883km miles from Latvia to Moscow is 1181km https://www.google.com/search?q=distance+between+latvia+to+moscow&sca_esv=586470193&ei=KORnZZDCCo6i5NoP8IKPyAU&ved=0ahUKEwiQ9peJyOqCAxUOEVkFHXDBA1kQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=distance+between+latvia+to+moscow&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiIWRpc3RhbmNlIGJldHdlZW4gbGF0dmlhIHRvIG1vc2NvdzIIEAAYgAQYogRI9BFQtQdYhw1wAXgBkAEAmAFooAGhBKoBAzUuMbgBA8gBAPgBAcICChAAGEcY1gQYsAPCAgYQABgHGB7CAgsQABiABBiKBRiGA8ICCBAhGKABGMMEwgIKECEYoAEYwwQYCuIDBBgAIEGIBgGQBgg&sclient=gws-wiz-serp It's 1181km between Ukraine and Moscow. https://www.google.com/search?q=distance+between+ukraine+to+moscow&sca_esv=586470193&ei=F-RnZa_1HbWy5NoP9OKYsA4&ved=0ahUKEwjv3J2ByOqCAxU1GVkFHXQxBuYQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=distance+between+ukraine+to+moscow&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiImRpc3RhbmNlIGJldHdlZW4gdWtyYWluZSB0byBtb3Njb3cyCBAAGIAEGKIESPMXUABYrBZwAHgBkAEAmAHKAaABtwuqAQYxNC4xLjG4AQPIAQD4AQHCAgYQABgHGB7CAggQABgIGAcYHsICCBAAGAUYBxgewgILEAAYgAQYigUYhgPCAgsQABiABBiKBRiRAsICBhAAGAgYHsICChAhGKABGMMEGAriAwQYACBBiAYB&sclient=gws-wiz-serp

Sure. But why? You'll just dismiss it anyway, like you do all other reports that cast aspersions on that manly man of your dreams, Vladimir Putin. Putin has called the dissolving of the USSR the greatest tragedy of the 20th century. Worse even than WW2. He's clearly been making efforts to put it back together. But maybe that's what you want, I guess. My facts are quite straight. Yours seem very gay. I got that information from Google, you 'tard. You know, you can always go to Russia and claim political asylum on the basis that people are attacking you for your love of Vladimir Putin.

What does 'downplaying' mean? Pointing out facts? Like as far as we know everyone who died, died of diseases that periodically swept through the entire population? Like those talking about how they were abused did so in an environment in which they were given tens of thousands of dollars to do so? No evidence required?

I can't help noting this habit of yours of ascribing emotions to posts that contain ideas you don't like. But when challenged on that, you run away. Some people (not you) actually come on here to discuss things intelligently (not you) and not everything they see should be read as keyboard-pounding fury just because you disagree with it.

You just don't want anyone to go after these Arab terrorists unless that means no civilian casualties. Which means you just don't want anyone to go after Arab terrorists.

Canadian Judges increasing make governmental decisions

I don't know why you think it was a good idea to toss in that last sentence since you clearly don't know a damn thing more about than I do. You just have different 'interpretations' of what you see. You seem to be WAYYYYYY more trusting of government and its institutions and policies than I am, despite obvious failings. I really don't get how everyone can tsk tsk about how Trump is appointing people to the courts to get his way and how this is very clear and obvious and getting him rulings like banning abortion while at the same time laughing in mockery at the idea the courts of saintly Canada could possibly be open to the same manipulation. Do you think the people appointed to the SC are completely lacking in ideological beliefs, prejudices and political views somehow? Oh, wait, of course not. But they're such saintly individuals they know to put that aside, right? It's just a coincidence that Trudeau appoints a bunch of progressives to the courts and we get a bunch of progressive rulings. And the fact he appoints approximately ZERO people with conservative views is of no relevance because, of course, their personal views are of no importance to judges. Apparently the politicians aren't aware of this. You should let them know. -
The illiberalism of Western universities has long been noted, and dismissed by many as 'it's just on campus'. But it's moved off campus and into industry, government and media. It's filtering down from universities into k-12 schools, where teachers indoctrinated by far-left ideological beliefs at teachers colleges do their best to indoctrinate their own students in everything from anti-Capitalism to anti-colonial bullshit. This labelling of Canadian Jews as “colonizers” and framing their support for Israel as somehow being complicit with “apartheid” or “genocide” produces fertile soil for antisemitism. Perhaps this explains why educational campaigns to promote equity, diversity and inclusion do not address hatred of Jews, who suffer the highest per capita rate of hate crimes in North America. There is a gaping disjuncture between an academic culture that promotes respectful pronoun use and sensitivity to micro-aggressions, while at the same time encouraging the vilification of Jews and the Jewish state. The antagonism toward Jews is the canary in the coal mine of a declining liberal democracy that’s under attack both from the populist right and the radical left. The threat posed by the latter has been dangerously underestimated. Campus hate factories are a threat to liberal democracy | National Post Ukraine dug bomb shelters for its civilians. Hamas dug tunnels for its fighters. See the difference?

There's some truth in this. A lot, when it comes to China. But we didn't outsource our natural resources to the Saudis and Russians because they were cheaper, but because that's just where the oil was. And lately, we've outsourced it because progressive western politicians want them to have the pollution that comes along with things like mining for rare earths and we want them to have the CO2 emissions for cement factories and oil and gas while we pose and preen. I think covid was a wakeup call for outsourcing vital industries. And what China is doing in trying to corner the market on rare earths is another. There's a growing effort to move things back from China, especially industries vital to national security and the economy like semiconductors and national resources. But again, this is being resisted by people like Trudeau who would rather import oil from Saudi Arabia than develop it here, and whose environmental regulations make it extremely difficult to mine or process rare earths. Haven't seen one of these austerity things lately. But you can only borrow so much money before one of them comes along. We're now paying more to service our debt, just for the interest payments, than we pay for healthcare. That can't continue to increase. Again, I agree with much of this. But the progressives haven't exactly been fighting against the importation of millions of cheap foreign workers to keep wages low, now have they? The Right didn't launch the culture wars. It mostly ignored the attack on their values by the Left for years before finally beginning to respond.

Shooting at them from apartment buildings, restaurants and markets hundreds of miles from the front? You are really buying this bullshit? If so, fine. Just don't try selling it here. Let me guess. You're a flat earther too. It looks more like you're fluent in dumbfuk beliefs. Yes. They've fired missiles deep into western Ukraine and hit civilian areas nowhere near any military targets, as well as regularly into Kyiv. There's no fighting anywhere near these areas. Disagree completely. And if things had gone as Putin had hoped in Ukraine he'd be looking at Moldova next, and then the Baltic states. He wants to rebuild the USSR. This sort of crap just makes you sound retarded, you know.
-
And you know this why? Because Hamas told you? I looked at the casualties in Ukraine the other night. It's about 10,000 civilians, 500 of which are children. Yet not that long ago Hamas told us the casualties in Gaza were also 10,000, about 4500 of which were children. Do Arabs not do anything to protect their children?

It's about 800km vs 1200 for Ukraine. What difference does that make? You were saying Putin was worried about NATO troops, not Ukrainian troops. He was worried the Americans and Germans would put tanks and missiles there or somesuch thing. They could do the same in Latvia. Belarus does not belong to Russia, even if Putin has bought and paid for its dictator president. And Poland has a border with Belarus too and is a hell of a lot more of a threat. Yeahhh, I get that you imagine everyone who disagrees with you is watching Don Lemon or something, but I don't actually watch CNN anymore, nor FOX. I got bored with American news sometime during the BLM non riots, and definitely during covid. I'm more likely to watch Euronews and Deutchnews and the BBC. But I also don't read the biased far-right trash you're taking as gospel. No. I just don't get a chubby every time little Vlad appears on my TV. Russia is a catastrophe now. And its future is pretty damned grim since all it has going for it is oil, the proceeds of which have all been looted by Putin and his kleptocratic buddies. Twenty percent of Russians still don't have indoor toilets. And when the oil runs out what's Russia going to be left with? Antiquated cold-war era industries and a bunch of billionaires who will quickly absorb to the sunny Caribbean.

Canadian Judges increasing make governmental decisions

You are telling me the judges on the supreme court are robots? In other words, the elites in charge appoint people whose ideological views are similar to their own in order to bring about laws in ways they know the public won't support. Which is fundamentally undemocratic. So why is this a bad thing when Trump does it? -
Nothing happens in a vacuum. Do you want to discuss the justification for why Paul Bernardo raped and murdered schoolgirls? I mean, it wasn't all his fault, now was it? And some have most definitely waved it away, calling it justified, and even celebrating it as an 'act of resistance'. Funny. I never knew that resistance included gang rape and torturing children.

What job? They applied for the job of judge. If you mean 'changing society the RIGHT way' there is an argument, which I believe I posted, which suggests the elites are using appointments to the judiciary to make changes they are unable to make due to public opposition. Is that what you mean by 'given a job no one else seems too inclined to do'? -
I don't consider trans athletes to be singularly important. But it's symbolic of the way womens spaces are being eroded, the way women are being bullied - by men - the way science and common sense are being utterly ignored on this subject. Children are being eagerly encouraged to make irreparable changes to their bodies and we're all supposed to accept that and smile? I think we've lost our minds when we say that a man who touches a 15 year old girl's breast even with her consent should be criminally punished but a man who cuts her breasts off because she consented is fine. 17 is too young to be allowed to sign a contract. But ten is plenty old enough to consent to puberty blockers!
