You are right about the actual material. We are talking about housing though and that is not just the house itself, it is the land and all the associated permit and fees. A house in GTA will cost about the same to build as it does in Sudbury but, the land and fees are a lot different. the finished house on it's property may only cost 300 or 400K in Sudbury but much closer to a million in GTA.

There are many things that happen that are not in the budget. Governments make all sorts of "adjustments", change regulations and other policies that are not in a budget. A budget, as we have come to realize , is really just a SWAG (maybe even without the S) and hardly a definitive spending plan. I have only been here for about a month and have come to realize there are handful of folks that regardless of the topic will do whatever they can to disagree and insult if they can not get their way. The only one that is allowed to have an opinion is them. Ideological differences are definitely not allowed. As I explained to Army Guy a while ago, DND and the Military (regardless of branch, regiment, squadron, ship) are separate entities. The DND is a government department whereas the Military is subservient to the DND. The military is, in essence, an employee of the DND. It does what the DND and Minister of Defence says. Before I was posted to NDHQ, I thought the Military was the DND and quickly learned it is not.

You were a lowly Master Corporal. In terms of rank, you were near the bottom. Corporal and Master Corporal are pretty well automatic promotional for any one in the Military. Don't hurt your arm patting yourself on the back. I retired a CWO. You do not have to believe it or like it. You have no idea what I did or how I earned my rank. It was not automatic. As far as my NDHQ tour, it was on major crown procurement projects for badly needed Military equipment. It is my history and I am OK with it. Denounce all you what, I know and did.
