  1. That was my point. Less than half of the Palestinians people voted for hamas but, they won regardless. Not all Palestinians are in favour of hamas or their actions.
  2. Like the truckers??? And the pro Palestine stuff in Toronto and Ottawa last week?
  3. Man, has this thread ever gone off topic LOL I just saw on the news that police in Germany broke up a protest. They said it was unauthorized and it got me to thinking (I know, ...mellow out LOL). Maybe all protests here should have authorizations and permits? No spontaneous protests allowed. All must be planned and permitted? Otherwise they will be broken up before they start.
  4. I agree the veterans are getting nothing but, the indigenous? They get whatever more they want even though they already get everything from the feds and provinces already.
  5. Yup. You da man...wesconman LOL Fleetwood is the center of Surrey...a shithole Typical NDP territory. All Jagmeet fans there LOL Tearing down an old shack or dump and putting up a multi family home does not make Fleetwood nice LOL Go away, stay on topic.
  6. Yeah, says you LOL A shithole in some of those areas is worth $3 million LOL
  7. Winners of elections are not a proof that all people within are in agreement with the winner. We are not all Trudeau's liberals...he only convinced 33% of Canadians. Things the way they are now is the way things were 10, 20, 70 years ago. Maybe even for the thousands of year prior. The jewish people and arab peoples have been at each others throat forever and I am not sure any government is going to abolish the hatred between them. For me, the entire region is of no use to the rest of the world except for a few drops of oil. It can all become a wasteland.
  8. Like you are a Trudeau liberal because you are in Canada???
  9. I get what you are saying. The government. dictates what the country does but, factions do not mean all the people agree or even want that. I say radicals within Hamas are the problem, not the people of Palestine. Keeping score and making comparison with wars past seems to be pleasurable to some in this forum. Death of the group as Hezbollah? Or Isis or al-Qaeda? Seems the more we try to obliterate them, the stronger they get. Interesting to me is that the majority of terrorist groups are all Islamic based. We had a group, we called them separatists, and they still exist today and are planning to split Canada. We have 7 million there and less than 40% agreed with the plan but were voted in anyway. They did take hostages and even killed one person.
  10. How far back do you want to go with your war comparison?? WWI? Boer War? 1812? Seven Years War? Tribal wars in Africa or amongst the indigenous? Point is each and every war has its own terms and conditions and causes and deaths and the comparisons are irrelevant unless you are trying to make some philosophical point (?) such as "War is Bad". Then yes, it has relevance. 1500 versus 5000? And more will be killed if 199 hostages are not freed??
  11. I guess you agree with me? I said a while ago that civilians will perish in any war. Millions died in WWII during the bombings and blitzkrieg. In Korea and in Viet Nam too but, none of that has relevance today. All past history. No bearing or meaning today. Each new conflict is on it's own terms.
  12. Not all Palestinians are Hamas 44% voted Hamas. It is like saying all Canadians are Liberal even though only 33% voted for liberals. War is war and unfortunately there is civilian deaths. News have reported up to 1300 Israeli deaths and 5000 Palestinian deaths,
  13. Stupid, stupid comparison. We are talking past 2 weeks not past century. History has no bearing or meaning it this action today.
  14. So, all Palestinians are Hamas and terrorists? Throwing rocks has been going on for many decades (most have no weapons and only rocks). Are you comparing the trucker convoy to the bombs and rockets in Gaza??? Are the streets in Gaza not Palestinian streets? Their buildings and homes are destroyed and there is nothing left but streets. Speaking form the point of view of having no stake or affiliation in either side, Ya gotta look at the damage and destruction and deaths and operations from and on both sides.
  15. The topic is about paper bags Dude (or dudette) for krist sake and you wander off to Russia and now Israel and Hamas !!! Control yourself Dude (or dudette) LOL
  16. If they even attempt that, it is a sure way to draw the Americans in.
  17. What are you whining about now??? Who are you calling resident??? East Hastings was always a shithole,... always. WTF are you talking about???
  18. Meh....same thing...its getting old.
  19. East Van was always a shithole. Just said Whalley was a dump back when and said East Hastings was a drug haven back then too. Estate homes? Is that what you call the 5 family monster houses? (owned by east indian (or south asian or whatever they are called these days) families) LOL Cloverdale is where Surrey residents moved to get away and now, the dregs are moving there too LOL Whalley is just one big dumpy strip mall (with a couple junk yards separating them) LOL
  20. All I am saying is your constant comparison to Russia (clearly not when you lived there ) is old and tired. Don't like what you see and is going on, so be it.
  21. Thing is, I grew up in Vancouver. Easst Hastings has been a drug haven since I was a kid and even before that. There was crap going on there and today, many decades later, it is still going on except now, we have safe injection sites and are about to give free drugs,. That in no way is rehabilitation. Drug use will always be a problem but I think in the "old days" there may have been rehabilitation but, in lessening the enforcement and jail times, and the growth of new addicts, the problem has exponentially grown.
  22. Yeah, what it was like in Whalley has now spread to a most of Surrey. Can't remember the name but a bar just at the end of Pattullo Bridge was where I could get in when I was underage My Brothers has lived there for over 40 years and I have seen the decline every time I visit.
