Should someone unelected lead a political party?
ExFlyer replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Stand by my post. You don't have to like it. And you are wrong the conservatives whined and cried and had tantrums when Carney was selected as Liberal Party leader and PM. -

And who whined and cried foul the loudest??? Oh yeah, the conservatives. Now that your guy is un-elected, it is OK to keep him on??? LOL The liberals have not said a thing...it is the public in general that say they like the conservatives but dislike PP....from the very beginning of the election campaign. Every poll from day one had Carney as the one they liked to lead the country.... by as many as 30 points. -

And all the cons whined and cried and went berserk that he was PM. Now, the shoe is on the other foot and it is OK for a party leader to be un-elected. Talk about hypocrites! LOL -

I made far far less than you and still bought a house, I did without and was house poor but I did. I love all you righteous people telling everyone that you cannot buy a house becasue ...I don't know why...do you?? I have said, houses on the market are selling. That is a fact...check your own real estate listings and sates statistics. Who is buying??? Only extraordinarily rich people?? Are there that many rich people around?? If so, then the economy is doing quite well. So, in your self rigorousness and super intellect, how do you get these homes to the people that cannot afford them?? You are a landlord, are you going to lower the rent so they can afford to live there? Are you going to lose money every month to make yourself a saviour??? I think not. You are in it to make money. Your righteousness says something must be done...does your super intellect tell you what?? Exactly? Building more houses will not bring the price down. How are you going to build "affordable" houses when property cost is high. When lumber prices are high. When wiring, roofing, electrical, HVAC etc is high priced. When labour rates are higher than ever. When you have to pay for the roads and sewers and water infrastructure etc that adds to the cost of a home?? Are you going to be the saviour and build it for the ones that cannot afford and you will take a loss and absorb all the costs?? I think not. So, when the reality is hitting you on the head, it is you that is "flippant". It costs what it costs and sells for what it costs. You are being pompous, as pompous as PP and Jagmeet. Lots of rhetoric but in reality, the promises are impossible to keep. -
What happens next to the Conservative Party?
ExFlyer replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
But, they lost. Whine, cry make excuses... but they lost. So what are the PC going to do now?? When Carney was selected as PM by party votes, not public election, the PC went berserk. He is NOT the PM, we never elected him!! Cannot be PM when un-elected ?? And so on was the screaming and crying. So, now that PP is unelected...is he still the leader of the PC party?? -

Many people went crazy and over bid for houses during the covid crisis and now that the mortgage is coming up, they are forced to re-evaluate. The unemployment rate is the same as it has been for a long time... a non player in this discussion. As for tent cities....there have always been homeless. They are homeless for one reason or another and mostly becasue they are unable to work or do not want to work. Those folks have never been a player in the housing market. If you are attempting to say there is no low cost rentals well, the reason may be that who wants to build and pay to have built housing that thy will have to take care of forever without any return on their investment? You wouldn't. Point is, which you are seemingly unable to comprehend, there are houses for sale and they are selling so, someone is buying. -
Well, it is a matter of what we want to pay. We, Canadians, decided we did not want to pay for our needs so, the companies that were making them in Canada went elsewhere to get them manufactured cheaper. We liked and like that. Are we, Canadians, OK with paying a lot more for products made in Canada??? I think not. We complain about costs and how much it is to live today. Imagine if we double or triple or more the cost of our day to day needs. Let us not fool ourselves, if we want the cost of living to remain the same, then we have no choice but to get into bed with China, Vietnam, India or any other country that makes thing far cheaper than we can make them ourselves.

Look, I am saying that houses sell, that is a fact. Prices are going up bu they still sell. Someone is buying. As for vacations, travel is at record setting levels so yes, if you need a house, use the travel money to get one. (exception, travel to the US is low now becasue of Trump but overseas is up) My point is, when I wanted a house, I had to make decisions on what was important and more important. I did without to save for the down payment. As a percentage of my income to my down payment it was pretty close to what it is now. I even had a 17% interest payment years to work through, but did it. Also, there is no law, constitution that insist you are guaranteed to own a house. You need to decide, pleasure of vacations and good times or the agony of owning a house and all its expenses and issues. -
Yup...Ignore Wallow in your pity LOSER.
-
Ok screw it then. I was thinking you would be reasonable but I see it is too late for you. When you resort to calling out my kids and grandkids... that is a step too far, even for you.
-
Yeah, Christmas Morning is tough for my kids and Grandkids. If that was supposed to be some sort of insult......major FAIL LOL Look, politics are over...at least till next election. Truce??
-
Easy to dish it out but when the crap falls down on you and you are the loser ....it sucks eh??? Just to reiterate for you, the Liberals are forming the next government and the conservatives lost. Not only that, Polievere lost his very own seat after 20 years of sucking on the government teat LOL

So, you are saying that you would let the women and children die in refugee camps that were being bombed. OK, that is you. Whine and complain but don't wear your self out..you have 4+ years to go plus you still have the trucked debacle zeros to worship Whoa...14 years of being miserable, sucks to be you LOL -

Well, I guess that fact we are Canadian and in Canada, not of your American politician or politics is worth anything If "his popularity theoretically surged to infinity and beyond" what made it hit the toilet and cause his party to lose and more importantly caused him to lose the seat he held to 20 years?? What "surge in the polls at the end"? Fact is PP and the conservatives closed the gap in the end. All polls, 25+ of them and not all MSM were very close and were quite accurate. I think it is going to be a tough 4+ years for you LOL -

LOL As your own image says "I own this property. This did not happen. It is photoshopped. Do better". LOL Nice try though LOL Look, I realize you are overwrought with emotion and dismay. Your favourites did not win. The fact is, it is over and for the next potentially 4+ years, it is what it is. I will carry on with my life and will be OK, without anxiety. I hope you will have great days to come. -

"open season on fecal defecation in public places." Yeah, OK..... you really need to prove that LOL I am quite sure you cannot. "Libbies flooded Canada with people who frankly...hate us."?? Are you saying that refugee women and children should not be allowed in? What you think or your attitude does not bother me at all. It is yours to have, such as mine is mine to have. What is not your fault??? Like it or not, Carney is PM. The libs are our government and PP is gone...even out of his own riding. Like I said earlier, I was leaning conservative but PP but his inability to pivot and react to issues of the day led me to believe he had no future in his plans. To keep on with Trudeau and carbon tax when both were gone made me realize he lived in the past. I will grant you that perhaps his campaign team could not pivot fast enough and could not steer him ahead but, he has played this game long enough to be able to do things himself. Pffft. -

What I agree with or don't agree with ain't worth a speck of $hit. I am one vote out of about 19 million. Look, the conservatives lost. Ain't anything you or I can say or do to change that. You may not like it but, Canadians have spoken. -
