I always find people who argue this are the ones where they were able to work from home and didn't miss a paycheque. If you were a small business owner who was forced to close down, a clergyman who missed several months pay because government threatened to board up their building if they dared showed up to the building, a parent who's child suffered from extreme anxiety, isolation or suicide attempts because they were isolated, etc then maybe you'd understand. To say no freedoms were curtailed, frankly, those people don't live in reality or don't care to acknowledge the very real societal impacts lockdowns and restrictions had on people.

The "consensus of experts" act within an echo chamber and utters ultimatum and threats to anyway who strays away. I guess if leveraging power over licensing bodies etc to get their way builds consensus, then so be it lol

"Climate science" isn't a real thing. They are a bunch of left leaning political activists trying to drum up some "emergency" to make themselves relevant, and gain access to research grants. The "science" community is less about actual science now with big time beaurocracy tying grants to the end of a stick to enforce compliance. You try and pretend like grant money is free of any political interference but we know that's not the case. Doesn't mean you are a flat earther or alien apologist to point out the obvious. Just because someone can regurgitate what a university professor tells them doesn't make them intelligent.

I'm always suspicious of folks who tout their intelligence. Whether it be Klaus Schwab telling us he alone is going to solve "inequality" and "climate change" or the liberal arts major telling you they've got all the answers to the tough issues (which involves a magical money tree) and that the right kind of communism hasn't been tried yet therefore we must silence everyone but them because they are the voice of all virtuous things. Yeah I don't buy it.

Your joking right? A prime example would be the banks. They can lock down your account without any sort of due process. People during the protest had their accounts locked down for the crime of giving to a charity that the government doesn't approve of. So if, say, they ask for access to your Facebook, your Gettr, your Gab for "safety" and maybe you made a comment about Trudeau being a man-child and they see that as an "unacceptable view", what's stopping them from locking down your passport and not allowing you to leave? They'll claim its not a "charter violation" because companies can set their own terms of service...

Are you serious? A third party, at the direction of the World Economic System would control the development of a third party Digital ID system for travel. An organization that believes that race based hiring and wealth redistribution are essential are going to control a system which allows people to travel. After what we've witnessed where corporations can develop one sided "terms of service" why should we not ask the basic questions?

Job losses due to government overreach are more my concern, not General Motors not being able to get cheap car parts from Mexico.

I dont really care about Ontario. Whether full or partially blocked, don't really care. Politicians down there have been blocking critical infrastructure for decades. Not a big deal to me if they have to drive an hour to the next crossing. I used to commute an hour and 20 to work every day. Not a huge deal.
