  1. Annd we have more Republican crooks too: Fictitious employees and kickbacks: What to know about TN's latest campaign finance scandal With Rep. Robin Smith's charge for federal wire fraud Monday, she now becomes the second Republican lawmaker in recent months accused of taking part in illegal schemes involving campaign firms and money. The charge against Smith, a Republican from Hixson, is connected to a shadowy political consulting firm with ties to former House Speaker and current Rep. Glen Casada, R-Franklin, and his former chief of staff Cade Cothren. https://amp.tennessean.com/amp/9414512002 And I’m half tempted to start a whole new thread called “Red state shitholes”. I would of course cover all the recent Republican legislative attempts at book-banning, GOP supporter book-burnings, The Republican states’ notoriously dilapidated schools that lag the rest of the country, their contaminated drinking water, polluted environment, plus their attempts to replicate The Handmaid’s Tales with their abortion-banning and their legislative attempts to pass laws that would criminally teachers who teach “unpatriotic” historical facts to set up classroom snitch lines, and live full-time video monitoring of classrooms. Unfortunately all that would be full-time job because there’s just too damn much of it out there to catalog it all on my own. I would need to hire a couple of full-time staffers for that.
  2. Oh here’s another Republican rapist: Republican candidate for Utah Senate charged with forcible sexual abuse …Brandon Beckham met up with the woman, an acquaintance, to watch a movie that day, charging documents state. The woman told police that she walked out of the room and returned to find him in his underwear with a blanket spread out on the floor, according to the charging documents. He aggressively told her to give him a massage, she later recounted to law enforcement. She agreed to massage him, but Beckham made additional demands, pulled her clothes off and touched her in an unwanted manner, the court records state. The woman told authorities that she asked Beckham to stop, according to the court records, but he said “she was being too conservative” and kept going. https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2022/03/08/republican-candidate-utah/ Ah rape the only time it’s ok for a Republican to complain about a woman being “too conservative”.
  3. But back to the topic of this thread, another Republican pervert continues the GOPs long shameful history of destigmatizing rape (and also makes pro-Putim commnets) 'I tell my daughters, "if rape is inevitable, you should just lay back and enjoy it"': Michigan Republican slammed for comparing assault on his children to the chances of the 2020 election not being overturned 'I tell my daughters, "if rape is inevitable, you should just lay back and enjoy it," so, that's not how we roll and that's not how we won this election.' Two of the other five speakers were visibly appalled at the comment. ….Regan was also heavily criticized for appearing to sympathize with Russia's autocrat ruler Vladimir Putin over his invasion of Ukraine during another point in the livestream. He said Putin 'understands the United States cannot be trusted to protect him against corrupt Ukraine, the money laundering capitol of the world, human and drug trafficking.' …His candidacy made national headlines in 2020 when one of his daughters, Stephanie Regan, made a public plea for voters not to choose her father. '[I]f you're in Michigan and 18+ pls for the love of god do not vote for my dad for state rep. tell everyone,' the teenager wrote in a now-deleted Twitter post on June 23, 2020, according to Business Insider. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10589893/amp/Michigan-Republican-slammed-comparing-kids-getting-raped-2020-election-fraud-theories.html
  4. Glossing over them and telling them exclusively from the white persons POV is not teaching the topic. For example in the US, slavery is often taught with the narrative Great White Hero Lincoln emancipating the poor black wretches. In Canada, conflicts with First Nations are *at best* described as the FN being some noble savages standing in the way of progress and their own betterment because they were too backwards to understand what’s good for them. The fact that so many people revealed that ”they had no idea” about residential schools and the missing kids who never returned home is evidence of that.
  5. Yes Canada has 38 million people. By definition the number of protesters are a small percentage, Einstein. Only 20% of the overall population even agres with them You Trump supporters are always so bas with numbers. You can’t tell the difference between a few hundred, a few thousand, a few million or a few billion. It’s all just the same really big number that you can’t comprehend
  6. And yet Trump, Tucker Carlson and then Republican Russian sympathizers STILL can’t bring themselves to condemn Putin or the invasion He’s criticized and insulted USA, NATO, Europe plenty can’t being himself to utter a single harsh word against Putin. You Putin apologists are the fascist fifth column, and I’m sure if you were alive during WW2 you’d be criticizing and attacking that democrat FDR daily with narry a mention of that Hitler fellow.
  7. Yeah NATO is the agressor. Poor peaceful Putin can’t catch a break from all those warmongering Europeans and their underfunded militaries that are also somehow super threatening ?
  8. So just to confirm how clueless and stuck in your Trump bubble you are, you’re saying that you’re completely unaware of the fact that Trump has not condemned the invasion and in fact has gone out of his way to praise it as “genius” and “wonderful” During a live interview with The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show, a syndicated conservative talk radio show, Trump called the move by Putin "genius" and "smart." Advertisement "I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, 'This is genius.' Putin declares a big portion of Ukraine … as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful," he said on the show on Tuesday. "Putin is now saying, 'It’s independent,' a large section of Ukraine. I said, 'How smart is that?' And he’s going to go in and be a peacekeeper," Trump added. … Trump also suggested the U.S. should deploy a similar "peace force" to the U.S.-Mexico border. "We could use that on our southern border. That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen. There were more army tanks than I’ve ever seen. They’re going to keep peace, all right," he said.
  9. Your garbage posts are free and its still overpriced. No as a point of fact there was not martial law. You should look up what that term means 1) The Convoy protesters were also a small percentage of Canada and they harmed far more Canadians than the indigenous protesters did temporarily keeping a few Quebecers from their propane. Considering that the righ wanted to hang those indigenous protesters high its the height of hypocrisy that they claim to have the right to hold the entire country hostage indefinitely for their fringe issue. 2) While there were fewer individuals injured n the Convoy protests the damage to the country was the same. All over an issue that 80% of Canadians disagree with their them on The convoy protests put EVEN MORE Canadians out of work and hobbled entire industries They didn’t freeze the accounts of people “who did nothing” they froze the accounts of those financomg an occupation of the nation’s capital that was allowed to go on foe nearly 4 weeks, in addition to the border blockades and the increasingly dangerous terrorists who were planning a shootout with RCMP
  10. So by your idiotic logic, anyone who doesn’t personally go and fight in the Ukraine isn’t allowed to be opposed to Putins invasion? If you don’t join the police department are you allowed to be against crime? How ridiculous and pathetic your arguments are. You’re a fascist appeaser desperately grasping at any straw, no different than the ones that apologized for Hitler
  11. So @bush_cheney2004 and @WestCanMan and @DogOnPorch are all keeping radio silence in this eh? Despite repeated prompting, the cat’s got your tongue on Komrad Trump’s Russian love fest
  12. Thanks for proving my point once again with another childish insult and no rebuttal. A true sign of the weak-minded
  13. Yeah but that’s just for show. Really US doesn’t want Europeans to have more control over NATO and therefore doesn’t really want them to increase the size of their military The only thing the US wants for other NATO countries is for them to have the same or smaller militaries, but equipped with overpriced US military gear like the F-35 white elephant…hence the US demand for increased NATO budgets but not always for increased NATO force size.
  14. Its crocodile tears. Like when the big boss at work tells his lowliest employees “my job is so tough I wish I had your job” or when a parent tells their child they wish they could switch places. Larger European and Canadian forces in NATO means more European and Canadian command over NATO. and the US doesn’t want that. The US wants America as the world’s sole superpower, not NATO. NATO is just a fig leaf so that America doesn’t look like it’s acting unilaterally when it wants to attack somebody. So you’re still not acknowledging the fact that Trump has praised Putin’s invasion and hasn’t condemned it. Why are you avoiding this inconvenient truth?
  15. There was no martial law and plenty of Ontario cops were there. They recruited cop’s from across Canada because of the size of the force that was required. No different than G20 or others large events. It’s hilarious seeing the righty’s one-time support for occupation and protest. A few First Nations people block a train track or a logging truck or a housing development or A FUCKING GOLF COURSE and conservatives they want them all executed for treason. But some white right wing extremists representing a fringe minority occupy the capital and border crossings for 3 weeks and do more economic damage then all the BLM protests combined and suddenly conservatives think theres an unlimited right to protest no matter how many people they harm.
  16. So you have no rebuttal, only childish insult. Might as well waive a white flag like your fake bonespurs failed ex-president did for Putin. You lose.
  17. We’re already doing more than Putin-lover Trump ever would have. True to your form you conveniently didn’t acknowledge trumps praise and lack of condemnation. Nor did you acknowledge my point the USA DOESN’T WANT the other NATO countries to spend more. You didn’t acknowledge those points cuz you know I’m right. And so you just respond with silliness
  18. Well “NATO deadbeats”, vs. a power-mad military dictator like Putin threatening the world and invading European neighbors. I guess we all have our priorities ? That Foolish Democrat FDR standing up to Hitler when we all know that instead he should have been trying to undermine England and France and the rest of Europe for being “military deadbeats” and calling Hitler a “genius”…will we ever live it down? You know the US WANTS to outnumber all the other militaries in NATO right? That’s by design and always has been
  19. You’re not ruled by Asians. In fact Asians only enjoy success up to a point. Everyone wants the stereotypical Asian math and computer nerds on their side but we don’t see many Asian leaders, no Asian has come close to becoming president and they’re still vastly underrepresented in senior leadership positions History isn’t just stories It’s the explanation of how things turned out the way they are. Conservatives want the traditional history, which mainly features white people and white heroes and Euro-centric narratives but not the narratives of minorities are only allowed to play villains or subservient Tonto-style sidekicks Here’s what you’re not getting: When you decide that you will teach about Christopher Columbus or the early settlers but not about the millions of indigenous and African people they enslaved and massacred, you think you’re just teaching “normal history that’s for everyone”. And think that the stories of those indigenous and African people are irrelevant and don’t count and shouldn’t be forced on everyone else Only a totally clueless idiot would say that the centuries of slavery and oppression and segregation that only ended during the current baby boomer generation’s lifetime have nothing to do with how people of those groups live in today’s society
  20. Well yeah once Putin had his ally Trump in the White House he didn’t need to resort to such direct measures. He could focus on taking down Ukraine from within, while Trump did everything to undermine Europe and NATO and made it clear he was 100% on board with Putin and would not intervene. Trump did mot “bomb Russian troops”. He did one symbolic missile strike gesture on a Syrian base where he warned Russia (and therefore Syria) ahead of time. There were zero Russian casualties and an insignificantly small amount of Syrian equipment/vehicles were destroyed thanks to Trumps advance warning. He did kill a number of civilians including 4 children though. Good job! Even now has Trump yet condemned Putin’s invasion? So far he’s gone out of his way to publicly call the invasion “genius” and “smart” and “wonderful” and called Russian invasion force a “peace force” while his mouthpieces and acolytes like Tucker Carlson openly tell their viewers they’re rooting for Russia
  21. As I said in the other thread: Putin’s Russia is an enemy of the west and of America and the Democrats treat him as such, unlike Trump and his acolytes who continue to fawn all over Putin And you’re calling for appeasing Putin and ignoring his aggression in Europe exactly the way Republicans called for appeasing Hitler and ignoring his aggression in Europe, its no surprise considering you’re all right-wing fascists These Are the American Right-Wingers Covering for Putin as Russia Invades Ukraine From Tucker Carlson to Tulsi Gabbard, these prominent Moscow apologists tried to tell you Ukraine’s fate shouldn’t matter to America https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/these-are-the-american-right-wingers-covering-for-putin-as-russia-invades-ukraine-1311965/
  22. What hilarious apologizing! Putin’s Russia is an enemy of the west and of America and the Democrats treat him as such, unlike Trump and his acolytes who continue to fawn all over Putin And you’re calling for appeasing Putin and ignoring his aggression in Europe exactly the way Republicans called for appeasing Hitler and ignoring his aggression in Europe, its no surprise considering you’re all right-wing fascists These Are the American Right-Wingers Covering for Putin as Russia Invades Ukraine From Tucker Carlson to Tulsi Gabbard, these prominent Moscow apologists tried to tell you Ukraine’s fate shouldn’t matter to America https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/these-are-the-american-right-wingers-covering-for-putin-as-russia-invades-ukraine-1311965/
  23. What a pathetic clueless Russian propagandist you are. Ukraine is a sovereign nation and as such Russia has no authority to unilaterally declare parts of it independent or autonomous or to “carve chunks out of it” as it pleases. ZERO. I’m well aware of Russia and Ukraine’s shared history but that’s completely irrelevant, none of that entitles Russia to invade it as it pleases, how ignorant are you? Putin’s aggression towards his neighbours actually started when he annexed parts of Georgia in 2008 under George W Bush under similar false pretences of defending ethnic Russians. But I bet you didn’t know that because the sum total if knowledge is limited to whatever your pro-Russian conservative propaganda has covered in the last 2 weeks. I already caught you spreading false info that ethnic Russians are the majority in those annexed areas, what lies will you spread next? Putin is a hostile dictator, no wonder Republicans and Trump Republicans especially are so fond of him
