I agree that the left has hoisted up Muslims as a pet to be protected... when the Islamic world as a whole is far from benign.... but yet there is something about this "Teena" that seems insincere...

You know I am from the left... I have been "red pilled" though... so I see the indoctrination and the woke Kool-Aid... and it disgusts me. I'm probably even angrier about it, because it discredits the things that the left does well... My latest way of thinking about progressive and liberal values is this. Capitalism needs to wear the pants in the relationship. We need struggle and healthy competition.... and military strength (not part of capitalism... but capitalism can't exist without it). Healthy paternal role. But the left has a role to play in looking out for the losers in the industrial economy, the unemployed, the sick, the addicts. Healthy maternal role. The left can't run the show though... they aren't tough enough... they don't have the "cohones"... The right and the left need each other... domestic bliss is a possibility. That's where you and I seem to differ.

So you tell me... Am I siding with a fake country?

Hey... I recognize this. And I agree... Communism and Egalitarianism of all stripes, are extreme forms of maternal instinct... manifest in a state. Protection from harm, protect the underdog and suffocate you with "love". Protect you from yourself. As a state it tends to be a manifestation of the snooping, busybody mother... into everyone's business. This can be extremely dangerous at it's extremes... because maternal instincts are not really comfortable with violence.... Ever see an overprotective mother lose her shit.... it's not pretty. Fascism is the state manifestation of the paternal instinct.... Might makes right, strength, loyalty, competition and struggle... But Fascism isn't REALLY into competition on it's own side... on "our team" it's all about teamwork.... no individualism... you follow the STRONG leader. He is your father. He will protect you. Liberalism is about completion and struggle among individuals within the state. Individual liberties and individual rights. Fascism doesn't buy that.

China is more fascist than communist... but still communist. Most communism has had the authoritarian element of fascism... although it's not exactly in the definition of communism... marx "dictatorship of the proletariat" was always a giveaway here that this thing could really operate no other way. Obviously the ethnonational element is separate... communism pretended to be international, colour and race blind.... but never really succeeded at being this. In the end it was more of imperial than it pretended to be. Soviet "Russian" empire vs Communist Chinese empire... two fascist empires deploying the same smoke screen.

This is politics as it ever was... and as you can see the CBC itself reported this political strategy.... so that puts a bit of a pin in your theory. As for Crown land this is part of our British heritage... this is a feature not a bug of our history and it has worked pretty well for the most part. The press is not owned by the liberal party of Canada... not even the CBC is "liberal party" controlled... We have property rights.... The Charter doesn't concern itself with these... you are right there.... and Charter mission creep here is absolutely a concern for real "small l" liberals. Speech rights aren't really threatened... other than by twitter mobs.... plenty of freedom to blather on all over this country. Look at us! Canada has plenty of individualism left... especially in the western provinces... and in the north.... Don't eulogize this nation prematurely.

Liberalism is present in both "small c" conservatism and on the centre left. It is a belief in free press, property rights and individual rights and freedoms. More to the left you find the "progressives" or "cultural Marxists"... here you find the recent post-modernist mindset of cultural relativism and a denial of any moral truth... of equality of outcome rather than equality of opportunity... Here exists the mindset that we must eradicate any and all "oppressive" authorities.... this is where the rot has set in. All victim groups must be identified and protected from any harm real of perceived. Capitalism is suspect, as is the scientific method if it challenges the core tenets or egalitarianism.... there is a lot of crazy as you proceed down this pathway. On the right you also find collectivist values creeping in ... protectionism... anti-science and conspiracy theory. But the left fringe has captured media and universities in a way that the right fringe has not. Return to classical liberalism is the route out of this insanity... I like to say that the left has a role to play in looking out for underdogs... but raising underdogs up as an unearned ruling class is where the left loses itself... The right has a role to play in maintaining healthy authority and healthy competition.... Both must protect individual rights and freedoms...

This makes NO sense. Fascism is authoritarian and ethnonationalist... that's all it is. It has NOTHING to do with liberalism. It is opposed to liberalism. Liberalism is a belief in individual rights and freedoms. Free press and intact property rights. Something that fascism disavows. Anarchy disavows any form of coercion on the part of the state whatsoever... and believes in only voluntary cooperation.... Conservatism is merely a statement of resisting change from the status quo. A desire to uphold current power structures. Communism is a desire to implement a state run to empower the working class where the state controls the means of production. I would agree that China is authoritarian and ethnonationalist... it pays lip service to communist values... but the working class seem to be dropping off their radar... None of this makes much of a difference... China is a self interested player on the world stage... like every other... and a menace to many of it's own people. It's people will bleed to free states taking their skills with them.

The mob has been given credit... that's what matters. Listen to the talking heads.... they aren't saying the team needed a new coach.... They are going on about racism. Same with Don Cherry... maybe he was getting old and obsolute.... maybe they were looking for an excuse to fire him... but the twitter mobs are convinced they got his head for "you guys". These heads are being displayed on pikes as warnings to anyone who might be guilty of wrongthink. Justice must be swift and merciless.
