  1. We're not ideologically pure libertarians, and never claimed to be, just said that we both have a libertarian streak, but are still Tories. Like Dougie says, a Red Tory yes, but a Tory nonetheless.
  2. Not really, none of three major parties was going to deliver on what I wanted anyway, aside from the Liberals legalizing marijuana, but I was too skeptical that they wouldn't follow through to vote that way.
  3. If you prefer being Charlie Brown to Harper's Lucy, that's on you, I made the wrong call last election and voted Green, but I for one am willing to admit the error of my ways.
  4. Movement on the pot legalization front is more important, than giving Harper another chance to pull the football away on the gun tip, Lucy-style. /shrugs If I had trusted the Liberals to deliver on the pot legalization, then I wouldn't have voted like Charlie Brown in 2015.
  5. Yeah, but ending prohibition is more important than any of that nonsense, as a libertarian, you should see that. If you didn't believe the Liberals was going to deliver on the pot legalization, and they were just run up the deficits, like I did, then that is adequate explanation for not voting Liberal.
  6. I'm pro-Monarchy, and more so than most Tories, that is true, but that doesn't preclude me from being a Red Tory as you suggest. Ron Paul is not an anarchist, he's a minarchist, clearly you don't know the difference. He is for states rights, and less federal overreach, he isn't against government altogether. Strawman.
  7. I probably would have voted for the Liberals last election, if I actually thought they were going to overthrow prohibition, but I didn't trust them to do it, so I didn't.
  8. Red Tories can be minarchists, as can Libertarians. It's the Anarchists who are the ones who don't believe in any government and no safety net whatsoever. I'm not a corporate welfare fan, though some Red Tories might be, I am not one of them.
  9. Red Tories can have a libertarian streak, just not as big of libertarian streak as the Blue Tories. No enemies on the right, that's how this Red Tory rolls.
  10. 1) Dougie is a Red Tory, as am I. 2) Sometimes, yeah. I know plenty of Americans who think they are superior and are jealous of Canada in some regards. 3) Ron Paul wants the states to decide abortion, not the federal government, I don't find Ron Paul to be anti-semetic. I am not as Libertarian as him, but he makes good points at times, though he does have the SIFCLF-R. 4) The left often has good intentions, viewing themselves as the champions of the poor and downtrodden, but they have counter-productive ideas for how to help the very people they claim to champion, and often are their own worst enemies without even realizing it. The right has better solutions to the problems that the left cares about the most, which is a big reason that I left the left.
  11. Argus just realizes he's getting steam rolled by us, and wants to protect his fragile ego by living in denial about it, hence him appealing to authority to ban us.
  12. Indeed. However, it should be noted that banning people for going off-topic, is shitty moderation and anti-free speech, and the only people who want to ban people for such things, are folks who cannot handle rational argument, because they can't compete on a level playing field, and they need moderators to be their crutch to avoid having to read someone they disagree with. Classic sign of weakness.
  13. Yeah, my right leaning libertarian streak came on pretty strong after I left the left. I realized that Canadians looking down their noses at Americans wasn't based on the fact that they are as superior as they think they are, but because they are actually just jealous and lashing out, creating strawmen of the American position, and once I saw through that bullshit, the spell was broken. Ron Paul in particular played a huge roll in my conversion, as I'm sure you picked up on. I found that the right leaning libertarian position included pretty much everything that I used to find admirable about the left, except without all the baggage. I found that the libertarian position simply had better was of achieving the goals that many leftists support, the conversion was actually fairly rapid after I turned 18, right near the beginning of Obama's presidency. When I first started posting over on the DCF, that was me coming down off the leftist bullshit and lashing out.
  14. I'm dispelling your bullshit, and you don't like it, if you want the discussion to be closed, then stop discussing. /shrugs Dougie and I have posted on other forums before, I know his stances on many subjects quite well, and you are simply out to demonize his positions, and are arguing against strawmen to make yourself feel smarter than you are.
  15. I've read his stuff for nearly a decade, I know far more about what he writes than you do, your assessment of his posts is clearly a strawman of his position, don't snow.
  16. Dougie doesn't think Canada is illegal, he just thinks that the Clarity Act is legal, there is a big difference.
  17. Dougie is an insightful fellow, not that you'd notice, being an mindless drone and all, and one who projects that on those you disagree with.
  18. The War of 1812 has everything to do with SNC Lavalin, and only an idiot would conclude otherwise. Therefore, you are an idiot. /shrugs Crybaby doesn't like related side tangents that provide insight into the subject being discussed, boo hoo.
  19. It's such an overpay, especially considering it's extremely easy to watch any game you want for free, hard to make $5.2 billion back when only a tiny bit of resourcefulness gets one around the paywall that funds them.
  20. They really did, I know it's hockey in Canada and all, but still, overpay city.
  21. I already explained how it was on topic, you just are unable to follow how they are connected, probably because it's you who is the idiot here.
  22. Was there like, a trail to prove that I am an idiot, or a scientific experiment? You are basing the fact that I am an idiot off your own opinion, and I am basing the fact that you are poor judge of who is an idiot off of my opinion, same-same. You have no science to back you up either, so why you would bring that up is beyond me.
  23. Who think sounds like an idiot, is of no concern to me, as I said, you've been proven to be a poor judge of who is and isn't an idiot. You live in the same world we do, you're just in denial about it.
  24. That's because you are terrible judge of who is and isn't smart, you think the only smart people are people who agree with you. Confederation has everything to do with the Liberal Party of Canada, and the War of 1812 has everything to do with confederation, and the corruption inherent to Canadian confederation has everything to do with why SNC Lavalin is so corrupt. Your imagination is just lacking.
  25. Can't handle opinions different than your own, so you want to scrap the site and ban everyone who disagrees with you? That's soft. No one said confederation is illegal, and there is nothing wrong with being a monarchist in Canada. Your inability to see the big picture makes you think everything is off-topic, but not discussing confederation in a thread about SNC Lavalin is to not understand why SNC Lavalin is so corrupt in the first place, it's baked into the cake of confederation, whether y'all can see it, or not.
